Beautiful machines, great souds of shuffles, no ''blarney stone'', no laxative music... It's great! Tank you...
It must have taken a lot of time to do this, many thanks to you for your kind generosity in sharing such lovely clips.
My son (4) and I enjoy this very much. Thank you!
Tremendous variety of equipment. Well edited. Here in the USA too many operations run on poorly maintained lines well below mainline speeds. I really like seeing these engines running wide open pulling a full complement of cars and no diesel backup engine behind the tender.
so beautiful and nostalgic with appropriate wheel arrangements described. Thank you from Canada.
This is not a good video , IT'S BRILLIANT ! What a lot of professional effort went into this work . Many thanks , it was a wonderful way to spend my time and LEARN.
Great video! I’ve been telling those guys trying to restore service on he Lackawanna Cutoff in New Jersey and Pennsylvania they need talk t to you guys and see how it’s done, but their so tied up in committee meetings and meaningless talk that when all is said and done, nothing will be done. You guys haven’t lost that war yet.
It's like watching Lots & Lots of Trains. This video is worth a good price of admission to be interesting to watch. I mean, come on, who doesn't want to know what these trains are, which railway they belong to, and what classifications they're originating from?
One of the best rail videos i've ever seen. It's impressive how many steam loco's are in operating condition in the uk. In America nearly all steam trains have been either scrapped or turned into museum pieces.
To be honest just nice to see someone doing some proper coverage of the South West Main Line, the overlooked area of steam I feel!
Thank you for taking the time to watch and enjoy. Dan
I love this great, long video with so many beautiful trains and locations! Thank you very much for sharing it with us all.
This film really is a gem! Thank you.
This is a wonderful video. Thank you for doing this from a train lover in the USA.
Superb and thanks to all the Brits who have lovingly restored these trains and provide us with such a panoply of their steam heritage. Well done
+Neil Finlayson I would take another view. These locomotives are polluting with their smoke and should not be running in the 21st C. I would bring in a scrappage law to ensure they are cut to small pieces and melted down in the furnaces to ensure they can't pollute again. The owners would be paid a fair scrap price for their locos minus Gov scrapping costs.
+heelfan1234 Make sure to include a clause that ensures you will be scrapped.
984francis Haha no, I need to be around to supervise to make sure the locos are cut into small enough pieces and sent for melting. And in the years to come to report on any illegal future locos that are built so the perpetrators can be arrested and the cutting teams will move in. I will be the Gov scrapping Czar!!

Have you helped scrap any locos?
An absolutely brilliant compilation.
Stepney was one of my favorite engines from the Thomas the Tank Engine universe. Seeing this video reminded me of him.
thank u sharing
Great Filmography well put together fabulous job WELL DONE
brings back memories, I love trains!!!
great work well done
Looks like you had a fun year!!! Good shots. So it's a TU!!!! Hugh :-)
No ,, Thank you for this lovely tribute to a byegone era,,
Awesome video: )
Good video and nice selection of loco's and railways too
that was bloody fantastic especially with the narrow gauge railways doing there bit no complaints from me you keep makeing them as good as this i will be waiting for them to watch a big thumbs up from me max
Great video!!!
That was a very enjoyable keep up the good work. If you get chance try and get to Barrow Hill steam heritage park near Chesterfield a nice trainspotters venue plenty to see and a good few loco's . Thank you
Thank you.
Thank you. :)
Actually I haven't tried at Millbrook but keep meaning to. Will try and get there this year. Dan
That's quite alright. Be on the lookout on January 1st 2013 when the video showing all this year's railways and locos is published. Dan
Thank you. I'm currently working on the 2012 version of this that'll be published in the New Year. Dan
Apprezzato!
I subscribe your channel.
Ciao!
Have just started work on this year's one which will be uploaded and published in the New Year. Thanks for watching. Dan
Lol I can hear a kid at 4:00 shouting "Cinders and ashes!"
You are very welcome! :)
Thank you for the comment. Much appreciated. Look out at the start of 2013 when this year's version of this video will be uploaded. Please also take a look at the 2010 one. Dan
@molzips My pleasure. Let's hope this year is even better.
Hahaha the little kid at 4:01 reminds me of my childhood.
You're welcome.
Really nice video, I live in the Hythe area, and I try and get up to Redbridge Causeway when I can to see the railtours through :) Have you tried filming on Milbrook Station, or is running too slow through there?
Yes, that is correct. Exact location is a top secret. XD
Well done; can't say I'm jealous that I can't watch action like this in person. May I use the audio in my Railfanning on Sodor Series with credit given to you?
Why does the 11 at 4:05 not have coupling rods?!
How do you sincronise them at the same speed
Yes, ok. By all means.
Nice set of clips. Sad to see pre-nationalisation locos in the hated BR schemes. This seems to be a growing trend today as the older people die-off. The younger enthusiasts don't seem to realise what BR represents. BR was all about decline and picking-over the bones of what was once the worlds greatest railway system. A Dukedog in BR scheme... Pure sacrilege....!
excellent :) mistake me if i'm wrong but i'm guessing you live in the totton area xD
@HughFromAlice It was a good year. I'm hoping for this year to be as good if not better.
that boy saying cinders and ashes
now i see where the creators of thomas the tank engine got theyre inspiration. its like watching the show but with real trains, lol. also, @ 15:30, is that a 2-10-0? never seen one of those before
@981smithy The pleasure is mine.
Hello
Love the video would lve it in smerics to but u always see a disel loco helping itts not right to us steam fans
aside from a few you guys might have better (and more) looking steam engines but we have better looking diesels :P
JJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJJ
quaint looking European rr action.
now, save your euros(if they will still be around)and come to USA and see real railroading when they get the UP 4-8-8-4 no 4014 running. the MOST powerful steam loco EVER built.
you can bet the 4-8-4 and challenger 4-6-6-4 will be there too! nothing more handsome than american steam locos.
The union pacific bought the most powerful steam turbines and diesel electrics ever built.
4-8-4 no. 844, was the last steamer built for UP, and was never retired, built in dec, 1944.
844 was an FEF-3 class. they were designed for 120 mph speed.
as wiki states, once, a FEF-3 class engine, took a passenger train of 1000 tons to 100 mph.
