The Golf Life Hey Golf Life. The green dot has been great so far. For pistol dots I do prefer the 2moa but most shooters actually prefer larger dots. This is especially prevalent with Open division shooters in 3 gun. I have never seen a 1moa dot for pistol. I think that would be too small.
I own this Holosun green-dot. I had it custom milled onto my CZ P-10C. Very happy with it. Nothing negative to say about it at all. Challenge for me was sighting it in at 50 yards.
@@XRING Curious how you approached sighting your green-dot in? I went to the local indoor range and used my shooting bag as a hand-rest, which was okay at the beginning of the sighting-in exercise. After a bit though, bending over at the waist was fatiguing enough that I lost my consistency. I've seen others approach this sighting-in from a chair and table rest. Others simply stand and shoot, adjusting from there.
Like your channel, Ray. Shot IDPA yesterday and am marveling at the explosion of the Carry Optics class. Five years ago we so limited in pistol optics but the market is doing a great job meeting demand, quality and price point. Everyone's winning
I agree with you on that point . Lots of options out there with Trijicon, Leupold, Vortex, Cmore and Holosun. It is a great time for slide mounted dots.
Great review. I run a 510c on my AR. It’s absolutely great. I mentioned it on one of the streams, but I’ll put it out here in the comments too. Alabama Arsenal did a review on the 510c, in their durability test they hit it with a 12ga. using bird shot at like 10 yards, and it still functioned fine. Sold me on holosun products. I’m still trying to decide if I want to put a dot on one of my pistols.
Joaquin -Jack Nava Thanks Joaquin. So....long story short. I do not like the RMR’s on pistols. I know they are probably the strongest available but they have a small window and the dark tint makes it a little tougher for me. I actually like the Holosun better on the pistol.
And have to remove the sight to change the battery? I think I'll stick with the holosun china dot haha. The only reason id get an rmr is if it was the dual illuminated one and i havent heard great things about those either. Trijicon is like the apple of the optics world. The logo is worth as much as the product haha.
Have a holosun green on my ar-10 and like it a lot. You can configure the solar in a way that makes the dot brighter when in light , and dimmer in dark. I love that feature personally. Well thought out product, with reasonable cost for what it does.
Thanks for the drop tests. I and pretty sure I'm getting a Holosun 507 C (circle & dot) for the bright sun we have here in southern Nevada. My 507 C will sit on my RuGER 57 (5.7 x 28) which I have great faith in for its accuracy B/C I get 2 MOA at 50 yards from a bench.
X-RING Sorry I wasn't clear. The tutorial was regarding Red Dots, for the poster 45 Auto. For audio Just gotta have your camera man wear headphones to monitor the sound.
Thanks Scott. Although this is the first Holosun I have owned, I was able to take part in a test with an agency that was testing them for duty use. They did extremely well. That was my first experience with them.
Very nice!! Not a bad price for it at all. I think I will own one soon. I find that my eyes just pick up green better. I changed all of my fiber optics to green. Great stuff X-RING
Thanks Steel Punisher. I would stay away from magnified scope optics with green. Way too much foliage around here and the green washes out for long range type shooting.
That looks like a nice setup, have fun at your 3-day match. I don't have much time with RDS either, although I do have several now. I just need to get out and shoot them, nothing works well if it isn't used. :)
I just bought an rmr type 2 for my Glock 19 and fixing to send the slide off. I figured I had better get a jump on the learning curve lol. Great video X Ring!!
X-RING yes it definitely has a blueish haze to it. I shot a buddies a time or two to try it out before I bought mine and it didn’t bother me too bad but it is noticeable.
Hello Bernard, I am going to have to get me one of those to try as well. I was going to get one sooner but a good friend of mine said it was not clear around the perimeter when he was shooting. Maybe you can tell me your experiences with them.
X-RING Always good hearing from you and happy your channel is growing so much. The trijicon SRO I would say is for running competition more than anything. I use it in IPSC & IDPA shoots on my cz shadow. (Until STI combat master arrives which is in customs) back to SRO. Field of view is massive. On recoil you never loose the dot or dot doesn’t leave the window as with the usual trijicon’ s
I am looking at the rmr sight for my CZP07. I am sending it out to get custom milled. Do you still recommend doing suppressor sights when you have a red dot/RMR system. And does it matter placing the back up sites in front of the RMR or behind great video thanks for the information
Hey Marc. I personally would not run a red dot without backup irons for any type of self defense pistol. I have seen too many red dots fail in the field. If it’s just a range pistol, then I wouldn’t worry about it. Thanks for watching!
I’m looking for something small for may AR Pistol chambered in .223 I’ve considered the 510c however it’s big and about a hundred dollars more. Would this hold and still be as reliable on the ARP platform?
Sage Dynamics does similar torture testing on red dots. ua-cam.com/users/SageDynamics I recently picked up the new Holosun 508T, going through some of the same things. Really like it. You can actually put tape over the front of the sight and your eye still properly places the dot.

Did you end up leaving your iron sights on( co-witness sights) on the back or front of the optic in the cz p10c?

Does it hold zero?
The best product reviews in a clear concise manner. And he shoots pretty damn well👍😉
Thanks Kevin I appreciate it. I guess it was from watching too many reviews where I had to fast forward through all the specs.
@@XRING well said, I was trying to talk Rick into shooting at his LUDT to split a 6.5 creedmor with his Tikka tac on his live chat🤣😁
Kevin Roberts I mentioned to him that I don’t think any knife can take a 6.5 head on. Way too much energy!

Great review. You can’t beat the price. It definitely helps one who can’t afford a RMR Trijicon. Thanks Ray.

"I really want that contrast in color" first target is green lol
LOL! I’m surprised some one actually caught that! Did that on purpose. 😂
I've been intrigued by red dot sights as my near vision grows weaker with age.
Audio was a problem in spots but the info was stellar as usual.
Yes, I didn’t have my mic set with me. We tried to boost the sound but the dang IPhone just doesn’t like gunfire.
Check out Colion Noir vids, for a good tutorial.

That's a real steep curve, like vertical steep.
so if you were going to buy a dot would you buy red or green ?
are you running co witness sights on this glock... if so what brand and model ?
They are just standard suppressor height sights. Unfortunately, I don’t remember the make or model.
Ameriglo GL-611 co-witness pretty good on the Glock MOS with the Holosun dots
👍
so no drop zone?
I mean I appreciate you going that far when most do not, but come on, the gravel was right there...
I'm so disappointed. Mine fell off the couch into the carpet and lost its zero. 😏
