Can we get more explanation videos narrated by Tiffany. Her voice is so good for it.
Daniel parish 😁 thank you so much!
Daniel parish agree 100%.
Love Daniel Hall Sandman! Even though he barely appeared after becoming Sandman just in the titles you mentioned and in a few issues of the Dreaming. Tiff you should do some Sandman back issues. That would be so awesome!
I was gonna skip metal but hearing that Gaiman apparently loved Snyder's pitch for the story enough to sign off on him using him, I gotta see where this goes.
Tiffany was perfect for this. Her voice was calming, while also being slightly creepy. Loved it!
Tiffs voice is calming in a slightly unnerving way
Tiff's voice is insanely soothing
Noooo!
I didn't know that there'd be Sandman spoilers, I'm only 5 volumes in.
Phyrexian Juggernaut no matter what the journey of Sandman is worth it!!
TheRealZubes: So true. Same for ''Lucifer''.
The other guy standing with Batman and Martian Manhunter at the end is Clark Kent/Superman. Gaiman having him depicted in his Clark Kent attire instead of his supersuit shows that he has a strong understanding of the character, as he views himself as Clark Kent first and foremost. I wouldn't have realized it was him if not for the fact that he's standing with Batman and Martian Manhunter, but it makes sense that each of them would appear the way that they did.
Hhahaha I was just reading the end and was like, "who the hell is this guy?!" "Oh good a ComicPOP video to tell me!" XD
I was geeking out even though I didn't know who he was.
The thumbnail let me know I'd be hearing the voice of THE REAL ZUBES! You go, girl! Love ya. Sal is one lucky dude. And you ain't doing bad yourself. You guys are the best things on UA-cam.
wow, hearing Tiff caught me off guard! right on!
Very nice! I would _really_ like to see more Vertigo on this channel!
Archi Teuthis Me too. SHERIFF of BABYLON, 100 BULLETS, PREACHER, SCALPED, UN-MEN, TRANSMETROPOLITAN, LUCIFER, FABLES, JACK of FABLES, HELLBLAZER, Y THE LAST MAN, YOUNG LIARS, FBP, and UNFOLLOW (especially) would all be great.
let's not forget _Swamp Thing_
YES Lucifer!!!
Now in 2019: Daniel(Sandman) just created a new universe outside the regular 52 universe(maybe even outside the realm of apocalyps and new genesis) just to save his girlfriend.
Damn I haven't got quite that far in my reading but still that's extremely helpful. I've seen his variation of the character and I was always like well that Sandman but I wasn't sure why the characters on was so different
You finally mentioned sandman dreams really do come true (sponge Bob voice) 😇
Possible Sandman book on Back Issues?
That So Landon Please!
I'd actually like to see this. I always wanted to read Sandman but couldn't get myself past the first issue. I might be more inclined to buy the whole thing if I knew a bit more about it.
Thomas Pierce it's definitely worth reading. Too many different art styles throughout the whole series in my opinion but still worth it. Do you self a favor and check it out. Trades are available cheaply through Amazon.
I agree but Tifany would have to do it as she seems to be the best at cosmic/magical books on back issues.
That So Landon YOUR WISH HAS BEEN GRANTED
You know I wonder if there are any Gaiman/Vertigo fans/snobs "turnin they nose up" at the idea of Dream of the Endless being a part of a Mainstream Blockbuster Superhero Event?
D.C. Stranded they shouldn't, it's done with Gaiman's blessing! And I have to say I more interested in this even than ever before with this reveal. On the other side of that, I'm hoping main stream readers develop a stronger interest in Sandman from it!
Plus, unlike the Constantine, when it comes to the Endless themselves, even though many of their stories were for a mature audience, there's not a drastically HUGE need to "tone them down" for mainstream consumption.
TheRealZubes Truthfully I've never been hugely interested in Sandman (or anything Gaiman for that matter) but now that I know it has some connections to both DC and Real Life mythologies that I'm more familiar with, I admittedly moved it up a bit higher on the Vertigo wishlist (below Hellblazer, above Morrison's Animal Man).
Oh, Sandman is comprised of virtually nothing BUT real-life mythology! In fact, there's even a story where Morpheus sets up an even where Shakespeare performs a play about mythological characters FOR those actual myth characters! Another cool thing is in the first volume, Morpheus encounters Martian Manhunter at the watchtower, and it turns out he was a god worshipped by the Martians!
D.C. Stranded being a SANDMAN snob myself, I can tell you probably not. These characters are THE ENDLESS and if you read most anything by Neil Gaiman most of his tales are themes of the importance and interconnectness (not a word, thanks. Either are a lot of other "words" used everyday, language, like life is ever evolving.) of stories with regards to the art of living. DEATH, SANDMAN'S sister has appeared in some SUPERMAN comics and the JLA WATCHTOWER is featured in either the first or second arc of Neil Gaiman's incredible series. None of it is real and all of it is real. Did you question the same regarding the MARVEL fanboys whenever those two companies crossover?
Important for Metal, right on! I'm sure I'll watch again after reading Metal later today
Yeah can you guys cover some Sandman lore... Ive always wanted to know what that stuff was about, I just never read them... And lets be honest... Dark knights metal was pretty sick.... I was psyched to see red tornado
wow this has made me love hawkgirl and dr fate even more, i cant wait for this event
Very cool video. Never knew much about Sandman.
Would be great if we get some more coverage of Vertigo books, I am currently reading Jamie Delano's Hellblazer run and It's just blowing my mind. I have been hesitant to read Gaiman's The Sandman, most of the time when a book is said to be extremely good, when I read it I have such obscenely high expectations that I end up getting disappointed but I guess I now have to read it to understand Dream as a character and how he might be involved in METAL.
Also read ''Lucifer'' after you're done with Sandman. It's worth your time.
Got a feeling I'm going to watch this again after i read Metal
SANDMANNNNN!!
And Tiff is ON IT! like a boss!
Tiff pls do more of these love it
Unlike lucifer, that had a definitive ending, i am ok with they using Daniel hall since he is more conected to the superhero part of dc.
aldo morgan yeah LUCIFER had a definite ending and Mike Carey's writing was awesome during that first series but, you do know there is a new LUCIFER series currently running, right? The Tv show didn't get me after the first episode but I may have to visit it in the future as I know Mazikeen is in it.
Aldo Morgan:
True. Then again, the Holly Black (I believe I got that right?) continuation of the ''Lucifer'' series does do a rather good job at it I'd say... Despite the fact that I do still love myself the definitive ending. (It does also provide some rather interesting room for potential crossovers.... After all, Lucifer flew off into the Void. Who's to say he didn't stumble across foreign ''Totalities'' of existence in said infinite, timeless expanse? Obviously this would all be fanfiction material, but still)
It'll be cool if Martian Manhunter mention this to someone on Earth 38 or Earth 1 about knowing Bruce and going to a friend's funeral
Interesting story about sandman
dearm is in metal? might have to start reading it then...
zeugfilms seen the video before I read it now I'm kinda angry about wanted to read and be suprised now I know what the big thing is
The guy in the glasses talking to Batman and Martian Manhunter is Clark Kent, if memory serves. They are the genuine articles, not dream versions.
Also, the Wake is special in that we, the readers, are also present for it.Talk about taking the fourth wall and smashing it to bits.
Morwen Auriel didn't mention Clark to save time and keep the focus on Batman (and really you just can avoid J'onn being there). As for the dream thing, I based it off a comment Gaiman made concerning Batman's look in this book.
thanks for this didn't know who he was til this
I wonder if any more of the endless will appear in doomsday clock?
I need more Tiffany narrated videos
Ah! That’s the context I was missing. Unlike Dream, I’ll never forgive Lyta Hall for what she did to Morpheus.
You know for someone who was born of a Greek Amazon she should have known that the harder someone tries to fight fate, they only succeed in solidifying it.
Suprised people do not know who this guy is. The Sandman was pretty big when it launched in the 90’s, and paved the way for Mike Carey to write a Lucifer spin-off series. Glad to see people in the comments know all of this, just suprised enough people did not where a video needed to be posted.
I like when you guys do these kind of videos, but I think they would be even better if you sounded more conversational in the narration.
Now you guys gotta atleast do the first book !
Could the arrowverse do him since they already introduced Carter Hall SI era since they already introduced them on Legends?
hes only the protagonist of the greatest comic of all time
anyone who didnt know about him before this isnt a real comics fan
Negative Thinking I'd agree that it is one of the greatest if I were choosing the greatest comic of all time based on literary merit alone. The artwork for the entire run was sporadic. There were highlights, yes. The covers were brilliantly created. VERTIGO and Neil Gaiman are to be applauded, no doubt; but the greatest comic of all time....
I respect your opinion and there exist far too many great comic books for me to even narrow it down to just one.
Im not one of the people who say that i think its decent but literally the reason people say niel gaiman is "better than alan moore" and "one of the greatest writers of all time" is because of sandman. same people who say its the greatest comic ever
Damn I really wish that the tumbnail didnt spoil the ending of Metal. It wouldve been an amazing twist.
I thought this was gonna be about Danielle (of comic pop fame) lol. I still miss bonus round.
ok, quite insightful!
Metal? Sandman? Metal Sandman? Enter Sandman? Back Issues Intro? Is there a correlation? No, but I got you to read this towards the end. Aaaand you're still reading. Why? Why is that? You should stop...Oooooh, don't like to be told what to do, huh? I can respect that.
Just Some Guy with a Mustache Metal actually.
psycho mantis?
It came to me in a dream this night! Daniel = Da Neil... is it a pun to Neil ??
Man, I got to read Metal.
So, the furies that attack the dreaming...are they the same furies from Apocalypse? As in Darkseid's Furies?
Dennis S Smith One of the characters in the panels did look like Granny Goodness though, and considering all the other DC mythos callbacks, I'd be surprised if they weren't.
Dennis S Smith no these are also know as The Kindly Ones and are based on Greek mythology. They are often seen as a young woman, a middle aged woman, and a elderly woman or crone.
TheRealZubes oh the Greek myth Furies, that actually makes a lot more sense.
Oh! That sounds familiar. So they're the three "witches" we see in Sandman Vol. 1, right?
Dennis S Smith Bingo!
I still prefer the Endless far away from the other DC characters. Their unique stories are far more interesting when they rarely interact with other DC characters.
Curious... Does this imply that Lucifer is also part of the mainstream DC continuity?
+Nils Vos Yes!
ComicPOP Awesome~ And how exactly would his (and Michael's) role in the universe/multiverse/Totality of DC's creation coexist with the other creation stories, in that case? What came first? How does the Presence play into all of this?
So many paradoxes and contradicting stories... It's all one big wibbly wobbly timey wimey mess I'd say.
Nils Vos if i recall correctly, presence is the God of DC's multiverse, but created none of it himself. He made Lucifer and Michael and that's it. Michael created all the matter that makes up the multiverse and lucifer shaped it. Then life was made by them i think, creating the rest of the endless(destiny already existed i believe). What contradictions did you have in mind though?
Fabio Well, for example the new creation story as told in that Metal series. Or for example the earlier creation stories from mainstream DC (with which I am sadly not quite up-to-date)
I really enjoy your content, but the book came out yesterday could we maybe avoid spoilers in the title of the video the same day?
Yes there is warnings in the description but who reads the description before the title?
Felt a little stilted due to the script - I think you guys work best when you know what you're talking about and just go for it. Very informative video though - it's been ages since I last read Sandman!
nice
Im Daniel Hall!
I'm waiting for the movie to come out of the sandman series..
3:25 Batman, Martian Manhunter AND Clark Kent.
bacsilva yep, but I left that out because of the fact that Gaiman had originally wanted Clark to be constantly trying to hide the edge of his cloak and DC turned it down due to their thoughts that I was disrespectful to the character. And terms of metal I was really just looking at the fun association with Batman.
but isn't also related to wonder woman and steve?
Thats my name lol
Dream dc nhắc tới cuối fim là ai
Wasn't that the guy on Rick and morty
damon washington they did pay homage to Morpheus!
Heyyyyy
Daniel is/was lame character
he had a nice clean design tho which was inverse of our fav Endless Morpheus
Dream needs to kill Desire like the Avatar should have killed the fire-lord in the Last Airbender ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
