Even though its been discussed at length already, I still can't over how much of a shit Reus is. Trucy was 3 years old when he was kicked out. Yet he holds a grudge against her despite her having nothing to do with it, and even then, she was completely willing to extend an olive branch by inviting him to join her magic show. And not only did he still hate her after that, he really felt nothing about murdering a fan of his either. There are certainly worse Ace Attorney criminals, but I suspect the intense hatred we collectively feel for that man is due to it feeling a lot more personal.

I dunno man, I still can't believe Maya's aunt. She's the worst of the villains for me. She was willing/keen to ruin her daughter's life, basically. I know she thought she was helping, I guess, so there's an argument for intent? But my god.

    SPOILER below…
I realized Retinz was the actual Mr. Reus early in the investigation… the coin on his necklace is the same as the coins Mr. Reus is holding in the poster!

I think it’s important to warn: the last AA series you ran, Barry, a lot of people criticized aspects of the recent Wright-verse game in favor of the “Great AA” series. I’ll offer a counter-point, GAA has its strengths but it isn’t as much an improvement as a pretty different take in court mechanics. Maybe not Apples and Oranges but maybe Red Apples vs Green Apples. Appreciate these AA games for what they are, some very memorable characters, don’t let those who love another flavor more bring you down!!!

Great AA is the Ace Attorney from another timeline, it does some things better than the Apollo Trilogy and some things worse. Different flavors of AA imo.

Fun fact! Nahyuta was initially intended on being gender neutral. They were inspired by genderless deities to design a character that "transcends gender."
(My memory tells me they cut the idea because they thought the general audience wouldn't understand it but I couldn't find a source to back up my brain)

I mentioned it on stream but Reus really is my most hated AA character. Barry and chat brought up Hotti and Sal as counters but heres the thing, as much as those two suck at least you dont have to deal with them for long (hotti isnt even a witness in court). Reus on the other hand? You gotta deal with this dickhead for the pretty much the entire case. He’s such a slimy, petty scumbag and Im glad he’s gone.
(Trucy is also one of my fav aa charters so that definitely plays a part of my dislike for him)

As far as I can tell, Nahyuta is unlikable because they barely did anything to make him endearing, especially considering the series already has a somewhat established formula for how to do that with the prosecutors (almost like Shu Takumi knew that these antagonists still needed to be fun). Almost every prosecutor has at least one endearing, if not humanizing, gesture, oftentimes it's something that seems uncanny about the prosecutor-Miles' incredibly juvenile finger waggle, Godot's left-field coffee toss, even Simon's interactions with Taka and Bobby. Nahyuta... gets one; it's used only once (per case?); and, it's a rehash of Franziscka's and Godot's prosecutor assault tactics, but without a particularly funny reaction from the defense. He has a breakdown animation that's good, but we also only get to see it ONCE the entire trial. So, that means 90% of Nahyuta's prosecution consists of just being pretty and a donkey's rear. Even Dahlia is an improvement on him just because they actually did something FUN with her butterflies and more than once *facepalms*. Sorry for the wall of text, but it was such an unexpected way to realize how much design had gone into making the prosecutors an enjoyable part of gameplay.

Tl;dr: They spent more time on his jiggle physics than his character as a prosecutor XD

I feel like his relationship with the characters and his story are his strongest suits because I do agree that he's a bit plain. Like his little quips comparing the defense to silly things and his voice lines are fun but he is pretty milquetoast as a prosecutor, though I don't think he's nearly as offensive as chat makes him out to be. I do think, not to spoil anything, that his role in the story and how that affects the game going forward is a lot of why I remember him fondly, but also things like his dynamic with Ema, where, at least so far, it seems like he really values her abilities and she's very up and down with him, which is kind of a cute detective/prosecutor dynamic that just kinda develops over the whole game. Same with how he's actually respectful of other places' culture and will shamelessly try to blend in kind of because of that. Hell, the fact that he's nice at all (just not to the defense) is quite the change of pace, in a different way than Klavier.
I do agree though that he doesn't have as much flavor as the others, though. But I do think he's pretty easy to like by the end.
