    I love this ending for its cleverness as he repeats Farah's secret word as proof that his story was not made up after all. And the song that plays right after fits so well with the tone of the game that it sent shivers down my back. Definetly the best of the trilogy and one of the most enjoyable games the PS2 had to offer.

      I always wondered whether his name was also actually Kakolookiyam. If it was, then it would mean that Farah and the Prince meeting up was DESTINY -- because his mother told her that word. The chances of this being true are slim, but if it is true then that would be VERY clever.
      Either way, very clever ending.

      Except isn't the Persian army still going to attack the next day? Sure, their inside man is dead but they still have enough troops to assault the city or at least besiege it. I don't see how the story's over.

      Well, the writer of this story was Jordan Mechner himself, who didn't participate in the sequels (and he didn't even like them) so you can consider this game as a self conclusive story, with that in mind, this is actually sort of an open ending if you think about it. After the prince says "Kakolookiyam" fo Farah, you can see how she is so susprised and intrigued by that. Maybe Farah went after him right away and they got to know each other again...

      ***** The truth is that there is no longer much to improve in Assassin's Creed since it has done 7 games in its series. AC3 was supposed to be the end of it until they decide that they could still milk more money out of gamers. There is a point were there is nothing more to improve in its gameplay and instead just adding some minor tweaks here and there, it's now just another Call of Duty franchise now.

    I seriously enjoyed how the game incorporated the prince narrating because it ties the ending when the prince is explaining what happened throughout the game to Farah and also the beginning of the game when it feels as if the prince is explaining the story to the player themselves. That was a well thought idea and fits perfectly with the topic of time.

Reversed time to stop the Sands of Time from being opened but marked himself by the Dahaka, chose to save Kaileena from her destiny of making the Sands but made the mistake of bringing home to Babylon where she was executed and therefore released a form of the Sands of Time from within her and got himself infected by it, though partially

      Assassin's Creed is a great series in its own right, but I overall agree. Ever since the second game, they undeniably got out of hand with the yearly release cycle (which only just recently ended).
      Random Fun Fact: Assassin's Creed exists thanks to this game. When they were working on a sequel to this game, the director of it discovered the novel Alamut, which made him do research into the Hashashin's (the real-life equivalent of the Assassins), which, long story short, turned into Assassin's Creed over time.

    The thing that sucked the most is you ending the game knowing what all the prince and farrah went through knowing she won't remember any of it because it never happen. It would have killed me to have fallen in love with someone and them never knowing that they felt the same way.

    • @mytruepower2
      @mytruepower2 10 років тому +53

      The ending was incredibly tragic, not just because of how it might make the prince feel, but because, in the end, he and Farah really were one of the best couples in all of video games. Each contributed something that the other lacked, and even their personalities seemed to compliment each other. It was one of the finest examples of complimentarity that I've seen, really, in all of recent media.
      What that means is that if the two had ended up together, it's all the more delicious as a happy ending, because you've seen how well they fit together.
      If the two don't end up together, as in the ending they went with, it's all the more touching a tragedy, because you've seen what a good fit they could have been. It's like watching a puzzle piece retreat from its proper place.

    • @Medunjanin91
      @Medunjanin91 10 років тому +22

      I know where you're all coming from but just like the prince says, time is not like a flowing river, in one timeline he is doomed to have loved Farah and have lost her and in another to simply be the wandering Prince that sneaked away from camp to diffuse the tension between the king of India and the king of Persia, the fact that he related the story to the Princess and she hardly believed him and then ended it with Kakolookiyam as an emotional truth trigger is amazing.
      Me personally, i believe you can't have a more impeccable and profound ending, that teaches a lesson that can be learned a thousand times over a thousand different ways.

      That's what I loved about this game: the fact that it took itself _just enough_ seriously for you to get invested in the drama and care about the characters making it through while also not being afraid to relax a bit and just have some fun. That's something that I was *sorely* lacking in Warrior Within. But I guess that's what you have to trade for a Prince who yells "you bitch" at soldier whores, is brooding and unpleasant and has Godsmack accompying him at every turn. Good thing they turned this emo shit down in the last game.
      "Last game? Don't you know there was that other game called...?"

    • @mytruepower2
      @mytruepower2 10 років тому +21

      Me personally, I think it depends what you want out of the movie. If you want a quality, stand-alone film, the movie was actually pretty good. If you want an adaptation, or indeed, anything to match the storytelling quality of the game, it made several major missteps and doesn't fare as well.
      If the former, I would call the film good. If the latter, I would call it disappointing. Since I was hoping for both, my overall evaluation is "meh."

      If they'd called the movie anything other than "Prince of Persia," I would agree with you, but the thing is, when you base a film off of another medium, the question of how well it was interpreted does come up. Not being the same, by itself, can be a problem, though it's still not enough to make a good movie bad (and I don't think the movie was bad.)

    • @Moody_Incorporated
      @Moody_Incorporated 9 років тому

      mytruepower2 but their intention wasn't to copy the story this movie wasn't about the games it was about the games without the monsters life before everything happens to him.

      If they wanted to make up their own story, they should just have called the movie something other than "Prince of Persia." I don't think anyone would have blamed them for doing so, and it would have solved basically every problem I had with the film.
