I decided to marry some of my favourite funk from the past and present by bringing James Brown's "Get On The Good Foot (Star Time) and Lettuce's "Squadlive" (Outta Here) together for this tune.

Just saw this video, and am blown away. Everyone is so super tight! The bass player got it goin' on, and the drummer is a beast! Reminded me of Carter Beauford's (Dave Matthews Band) style and fills.

Will do ,checking more of your stuff. Your family is like the Rupps, apparently, with multiple talents. If you don't know who Chris is, he started the A Capella group Home Free, quit when they got world famous (literally) and made some #1 selling country tunes (his brother is still their beat boxer, he does a air drum/beat boxing solo on tour that you can pick up on YT that borders on amazing, at least I think so, as a drummer, you can tell me, maybe?), Now is doing a new group, 7th Ave Band, with his sister and a couple of friends (one that left, Jacklyn was a member of the cast in Pitch Perfect). Check 'em out if you haven't seen them, that is, if you ever have time. ;-)
He does some excellent arrangements, and one of my favorites of his is, believe it or not, Brubeck's Take 5, with "It Came Upon a Midnight Clear", done voice and Jazz trio, I think...and they coincide/blend perfectly.
Good luck in your endeavors, I see you have already racked up some impressive accolades. Your vid came up with all the session bands I watch, like Bottom 40, Tim Akers n Smoking Section, Leonid and Friends, etc. I'm glad it did. Cheers.

Agreed, but the level of there technique is more like that of Tower of Power, or a fusion band of the mid 70's.

I’ve never heard of Squadlive so I can’t evaluate this performance as a cover of it. I do know James Brown’s Get on the Good Foot and I heard no resemblance to it.
