So much effort to make this episode! Thanks ya'll 👍
Thanks for watching
>100 cuts? Well done basic Mitch.
Any chance of putting your Khao Soi recipe up on the website @andy_cooks ?
How it's u in chat no children exist yet we don't have humans 😂😂😂
So much food as well. Hahaha
As a Thai person, I am so happy as to how many Thai dishes are in the top 10!
As an Australian, Thai food is the best for me!
If the Internet only does one thing while it exists, I hope it's to settle on a standard spelling for Pad Kra Pao...
@@blairhoughton7918it’s pad kaprao, because kaprao is holy basil. Pad kapow is casual speak. Pad krapao is wrong and is a word that doesn’t make sense
@@abhirupan7630 Cool. What about phat vs pad, and kaprao vs kaprow or gaprao?
@@blairhoughton7918a Thai person checking in 👋 it’s all about romanization. Different spellings don’t really matter since most people know what you are referring to anyway.
Even some Thais can’t spell the word in the so-called authorized way 😂
Don’t sweat it!
Loved this video. Not only does it showcase Chef's skills and versatility, but the team's passion for what they are doing as well. It has become my favorite subscription for many reasons (segments, variety, education/application), but the main draw is the crew. Y'all are doing it right and I appreciate it!
this is great! I'd say with the garlic naan and roti canai it's really hard to judge without something to dip with
Needs a curry dipping sauce!
Agreed!!!
roti canai does usually have a daal curry or something to go with, i dont know why he didnt do it here
the last dish isnt rotty canai or roti chennai its called malabar porotta, its a staple of kerala cuisine.
@@SAMX4949 Apparently it was Indian migrants who introduced it to Malaysia and now it's known worldwide as a Malaysian dish
I live in South Africa and I grow 7 varieties of basil. The plant is hard to get, but the seeds are pretty easy to find. Also basil when they're seedlings are difficult, but once they mature its super forgiving and easy to grow.
Do you have any issues with whiteflies?
@ryanc1592 funnily enough only on my tomatoes, they tend to leave the herbs alone. But I know with some pests they'll always go for the plant they prefer so I plant some tomatoes and other fruiting plants further away from my main garden, like sacrificial lambs basically.
thats a lot of herbs honestly though I bet your growing zone helps
@@thomasdavey1513 thats a good idea, there are also some aromatic plants I've heard help create a "field" around them but good on you sticking to non-toxic methods
@@richmondvand147 Pays to have a wide range of herbs like the Vietnamese do. For meals just go out and grab a variety for salads.
You’re one of the few foodtubers that actually give tips and a descriptive step by step on how to do the food which I absolutely love
Just like Julia. I miss seeing cooks do this.
Great video. Roti and naan are really hard to fairly judge because its obvious they are not best on their own, they require a dip/sauce/curry! No matter how good bread is, its never gonna beat a complete meal. Also I love how when babe rates the picanha as low andy says must be the chef’s fault. Such a humble chef andy!
Speak for yourself I can down about 20 parathas by myself if you give me a cup of tea with it😂
Mate I have a suggestion, add two more judges for next year and auction off those positions for charity. What we all would give to be there tasting 😂
I'd be in that!!! Worth a trip to Sydney.
Let's keep cooking!! Excellent and pretty easy dishes, if you can find the right ingredients. Thanks, Andy and Team!
Simply brilliant video. Effort, banter, technique, personality, concise, authentic. I mean, god damn, guys! So good.
What an amazing idea! A great video, Andy! 😋
thank you!
THIS IS SUPERB CONTENT 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻 I specially love the no frills - all skills approach. Your channel is amazing, Andy!
This was so much fun. I’m a new subscriber but have been a fan of your UA-cam shorts for over a year now, finally subscribed to your channel and am loving the long-form videos you’ve been doing recently! Y’all have great energy! 💚
Hi Andy, what a great concept ! Watching you cook those dishes almost gives me the confidence to do it myself, but who am I kidding ?! Thanks to you and the crew for a very enjoyable video !
Yeap! Roti canai usually serves along with a lot of different dips. Sometime variety of curry and dhal with malaysian nasi lemak style sambal. Thank you for the effort of making this video! Love from Malaysia!
We have similar bread in south India called "porotta". Most people eat it with meat curries.
That's what I was going to say! My understanding is that roti canai is traditionally served with a curry, with even plain roti being referred to by a different name entirely. But you would know better than me :)
looks similar to Malawach (Yemeni dish also popular in Israel), usually served with crushed tomatoes dip and a spicy dip made of green peppers (zhug).
Roti Canai without Dhal curry and malaysian Sambal is not a complete dish. The 3 has to go together. Put the mix in your mouth, life makes sense again.
Shout out to Andy, bought your book 👌
@@bishrrrr Roti canai was brought to malaysia from migrant workers from tamil nadu during british colonization. By 1920's roti canai was the main dish served at Indian stalls in both cities and villages throughout the Malayan peninsula.
Hello Andy!
Nice to see Shashlik making it to the list. A little tip just in case you'll make it in the future: we usually eat it with vegetables and lavash (basically something like tortillas but way thinner) and with adjika or any other sauce you like.
My late grandfather (who happens to be Georgian but lived almost all his life in Russia) made the tastiest shashlik I've ever eaten using only mayo and onions for marinade. But surely there are tons of kinds of marinade :)
P.S.: I should also add that for us (Russians, Ukrainians, Belarussians etc) Shashlik is more like a nice tradition and the reason to gather with family or friends, basically celebrating late spring/early summer or other important occasion. In my family, when the granddad was alive, he made shashlik every time we visited him&grandma.
@@lastazakana sounds absolutely delicious. I enjoy shashlik with grilled mushrooms more, but veggies are essentials for sure! 😊
@@lastazakana Same in Poland, there MUST be vegetables between meat. Slice of backfat or bacon would be nice too.
Love this. Thanks Andy!
They are all top 1 for me!! This is such a wholesome video, there is so much knowledge and respect shown here and so much effort went into making this episode! Keep up the hard work love to see more!
Fun video. Enjoyed the banter and the quick cooking segments.

A labor of culinary love. Great job by the entire team ❤️
Loved the episode!
ANDY 😫 you’re such a great chef, you’re clear and concise with your instructions. As well as you’re very knowledgeable
Watch most of your content. This was a tremendous episode. Thanks!
Great show thx, btw Thai basil and Holy basil grow well in Sydney (and other places for sure), so if you have a little space, grab some seedlings in Spring.
Great video mate! And a nice nod to our Indian 🇮🇳 food culture here in 🇬🇧… we love a Ruby Murray over here!
That was fun! Thank you!
Andy I'm so proud of you 😄 Greetings from Italy 😃😃
Cool video. They all looked like something I'd eat for sure.
Love the dishes that you made. I will cook some of them.❤❤❤
Great video! More like these 😊 you three looked like you enjoyed it as well
Andy. Brother, i love this. Love the content, you have made me get back into cooking properly since leaving cheffing 10 years ago at the end of this year.
Not only that, but you've made my 5 year old daughter love it too. Shes obsessed, to the point where before bed instead of reading a book she wants to "watch an Andy video".
Alot of love down here in Pokbolbin, Hunter Valley mate.
However i do have one question from the young lady. Where is her pesto ravioli video she requested, and when are you travelling so she can get her cook book signed. ❤
Love this vid guys!
How do you stay interesting cooking? You and your team are brilliant.
Big effort Team Andy! Well done... never cease to be envious of the tasters! 😂
A great episode with a fun loving team!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it
Amazing video! Amazing job!!
Appreciate the effort, Andy. :) I felt the work that went into this video.
Great video guys! Need to make those potstickers.
Love your recipes Andy - I try to make something each week, they are fab!
I can't eat garlic or onion which is a massive downer and I've tried that substitute - but in all honesty it's crap. Thanks so much for re-inspiring my love for trying new things at home 😊
so much time , effort and skill has been put into this video, well done on a awesome episode
great content yall!
Awesome episode and awesome cooking as well. One thing I reacted upon is that the meats get unfairly treated in the sense that you have a meat only vs full dishes, even with dumplings they had dipping sauce. Sashlik does normally get eaten with other condiments. For example if döner kebab would been on list, would you have made full döner kebab dish with veggies and sauces perhaps even with bread or meat only - although same its two totally different things. Not saying that the result would been much different, but meat only is hardly a dish.
this is the first video ive watched from this channel but the video quality is noticeably better than most channels I watch
loved this video. Not only does it showcase Chef's skills and versatility, but the team's passion for what they are doing as well. It has become my favorite subscription for many reasons (segments, variety, education/application), but the main draw is the crew. Y'all are doing it right and I appreciate it!
All amazing dishes Chef. Love the Tong Pau
Nice one guys, that was a lot of effort for one video!!
Great job and respectful to the dishes. Very awesome team!
Thanks for the hard work! A Thai person who loves LOVES eating here. I salivated so much seeing all three Thai dishes because I like my dishes spicy and flavorful and because they are something I grew up with. Best dishes are each individual's personal list and now I'm kinda craving for some pot stickers!
Awesome video!!!
This is great. I LOVE what you cook and how you cook! My hubby only cooks me chicken wings. 😀
Andy your skill with different cuisines is incredible - think my jaw dropped during your bao pleating
Andy, love this one man. Everyone in front of the camera and behind really conveyed a genuine love of food and playful disagreement. The world could use a lot more of what you guys are offering. Maximum effort.
Pad krapao is one of my fav things to make at home - I always use finely chopped chicken thigh, and it's crazy good. I'll bet it'd have scored a bit better with the chicken thigh instead of ground beef. One day, I'd like to try it with holy basil, but it's impossible to find.
Killer video, Andy. Top tier content.
Envious of your tasters, wish I was there! 🤤
Gracias ❤
Very cool. Great recipes all
great video! for the pad krapao i would make some prik nam pla (fish sauce, lime, garlic, chilli and sugar) as condiment. really elevates the dish! also i make it with fresh ground chicken thighs at home
This, also needs some oyster sauce + soy sauce added in at the same tie as the fish sauce. and white pepper to finish. I've never seen beef gaprao in Thailand, its always minced chicken or pork.
@@cZerHDexactly!
Love this
What a great video! This must have taken ages to make. Mouth watering on pretty much every dish
Aloha. Awesome video, in so many ways.
Awesome bid Andy. Super fun. Can't believe the picania wasn't higher but no surprises re the Neapolitan pie.
Thanks for a great episode and many ideas on what to cook next.
lmao the Chateaubriand for France when there are so many dishes that are way more inventive (and honestly tastier ones imho).
You guys are awesome.
Great video guys
Love that video 😊
Personally I think Roti Canai has to be served with eiter a yellow dahl and/or curry dipping sauce, if so that would be top 3 for me :)
Also with the naan do you think you cooked it on too low a heat @Andy? I like the pillowy soft ones large char spots, that's my preference.
Well Done !! love your channel and the dishes you prepare. How would you adapt some of these recipes for a diabetic person , especially those that have sugar in them.
I have a dumpling we make that's kind of a spin on soup dumplings and Japanese gyoza. I take our favorite dipping sauce recipe and add some gelatin, then cut the set sauce jelly into small pieces and incorporate it into a traditional pork gyoza filling before steaming or pan frying. It's absolutely incredible - 10/10 recommend!
Actually amazing that pizza is number one. I love flavours, but yes, I agree. Good pizza is just amazing. So simple but so hard to do.
Right now, I'm cooking either a beef satay or stir fry. Can't decide, ha ha. Great fun video.
Wow! Curries, potstickers , Nan.. what’s not to like! Lots here I’ll take a shot at . Still playing with recipes from your cookbook. Thanks chef ! (Who decided the top 10 recipes? I was a bit surprised at some selections. Cheers!
I know this had to be so hard to put together. good work it was an incredible watch!
Hi Andy! I saw in one of your older videos that you used to live in Shadwell, East London. I currently live in Shadwell and would love if you could recommend your favourite local restaurants here!
