My top 3 would be the maple, Chinese panda, and almost any of the gold Perth mint coins. Never been a fan of the krugerrand compared to some of the others.
The 1oz gold Britannia with oriental border, fairly low premium, only 5000 a year minted, and the border changes every year. Then the 10oz Britannia silver bar, just excellent if you don't pay too much of a premium.
I also get at least one kilo coin every year. They really stand out when you display them with other coins. Also, PAMP now makes an excellent rhodium bar in assay with the phone verification app.
22 carat gold krugerands have that tiny bit of copper content precisely because it makes the coin harder wearing, and there is a reason it has outsold all other 1oz gold coins combined for liquidity and investment.

My favs in no particular order are - Silver Eagles Gold buffalo Scottsdale stackers (any weight) 10 oz Kookaburra Peace Dollars (and all junk silver actually) Canadian Maples
It all depends in what country you live in. If you're in Switzerland the 20 franc vreneli is number 1, in France it's the 20 franc napoleon. I expect the kruggerand is number one in south africa, the 50 pesos in central and south america and so on.

Yeah.. I haven't had any milk spot problems since the 2018s. I have wayyyyy more Phils with milk spots at this point. The Royal Mint stuff is starting to give me milk spot issues as well, which is a shame because I love Britannias.
IMO, platinum Queen beast must rank no.1 beautiful design, low premium, highest face value 100 pounds and at a discount price....right now platinum is the only precious metal cheaper than silver even (compare to value).
Just a couple of days ago I would have said go for platinum, but looking at the future of platinum as an industrial metal I'm not so sure now. It's main use is catalytic converters, and catalytic converters can be recycled to make more catalytic converters.
@@herculeholmes504 This is not the only use of Platinum...it has big demand in jewelry as well...it is rare than Gold and most important all mints give it face value either equivalent or more than gold. In recession it always behave like gold. right now Palladium been used as catalytic and look at its price. i'm not forcing to buy anyone...but in my whole life, i never see Platinum cheaper than gold except these 4 years.
I note one factor that didn't fall within your criteria was that of govt issued legal tender gold and silver coins that have a face value considerably less than their intrinsic value. This has advantages when crossing international borders where one needs to declare to customs any 'cash' ( typically in excess of USD10,000 or equivalent in other currencies). Here a PM expert recounts his experience doing just this with 1ozt gold maples -YT (dot) com/watch?v=abpbMgAnzYw (skip to the 28:40 min mark)
@@xxterribleone1899xx When crossing international borders with legal tender gold or silver coins it may be prudent to just email customs of the country you are entering prior to travel to get on paper what exactly needs to be declared and what the 'cash' thresholds are. This email can then be shown to the clueless customs official at the airport should you be challenged. Below is the response I got from New Zealand Customs.
Below I copy and Paste what NZ Customs informed me about taking into NZ "legal Tender" silver or gold coins. Note for other forms the fineness of the metal will determine if you are taxed. There are three categories that the coins may fall within:
Coins that are used or circulated (or intended for use or circulation) The coins are exempt GST. For Customs purposes they are considered to be “cash” (we do not use the term “legal tender”). If you import NZ$10,000 or more of these coins you are required to declare on your NZ Passenger Arrival card that you are bringing into New Zealand a total of NZ$10,000 or more in cash and will also be required to complete a Border Cash Report. I can confirm that all American Eagle coins fall into this category.
Coins that are not considered to be “cash” but meet the definition of fine metal These coins are exempt GST and for Customs purposes are considered to be goods. If you import goods obtained overseas with a total value of NZ$700 or more, you are required to declare these on the NZ Passenger Arrival card.
Coins that are not considered to be “cash” and do not meet the definition of fine metal These coins are subject to GST and for Customs purposes are considered to be goods. You have an allowance of NZ$700 which may be used for accompanied goods. If you import goods obtained overseas with a total value of NZ$700 or more, you are required to declare these on the NZ Passenger Arrival card.
For coins that are not considered to be “cash” and other goods that you import, a Customs value must be established. For valuation purposes, the primary method of valuing imported goods is known as the transaction value system. In simple terms this is generally the purchase price paid for the goods. If, for any particular reason, the transaction value method may not be used there are secondary methods for establishing values. Gold bars, silver coins and silver shot are free of tariff duty. Goods that are considered to be a “fine metal”, as defined in section 2 of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) Act, are also exempt from GST. The GST exemption for fine metal applies to: • Gold, in any form, being gold of a fineness of not less than 99.5 percent. • Silver, in any form, being silver of a fineness of not less than 99.9 percent. • Platinum, in any form, being platinum of a fineness of not less than 99.0 percent.
Based on the information supplied in your e-mail the gold bars at 99.99% purity and the silver shot of 99.99% purity will be exempt GST. The gold bars at 96.5% purity will be subject to GST.
Without knowing the purity of the silver coins I am unable to advise if the GST exemption applies.
It is a requirement to declare on your New Zealand Passenger Arrival Card if you are carrying a total of NZ$10,000 or more in cash. I have attached our Advice to Travellers brochure - page number 7 provides information as to what constitutes “cash” for the purposes of this requirement.
In addition to the requirement to declare cash, you must also declare if you are carrying goods obtained overseas (or purchased duty free in NZ) that have a value of more than NZ$700
Generally you can get the Gold Buffalo for the same price as a Gold Eagle. Love them both. PS It would be much easer to sell a kilo worth of gold buffalos than a Kilo gold bar. IMHO Just more flexible

I am very curious about why you do not recommend generic silver bars in your list. In general, the premium is much lower than Silver maple leaf and I have yet to talk to someone who would refuse to buy them.
Okay... well I don't buy them... because I think they would be much harder to sell in an emergency... Not everyone understands rounds... I only have a very few of them ... I like bullion... and a few semi-numismatics because I love beautiful designs.
And the end of the day it is all about what people can afford. I have maybe a dozen gold coins that I have acquired over the years, but amongst them there is only one 1oz coin- a gold kangaroo. A 1 kilo gold bar is a purchase that the majority of people can only dream about....

@Ilir Cami Because RCM products are more pure, more competitively priced and I would argue higher quality with more consumer choices. I'm American but I buy from the Perth Mint, Royal Mint and RCM before the US Mint.
Englehard American Prospector Rounds are my favorite. They are classic, American made, easy to sell at a premium but getting very hàrd to find in good condition for a reasonable price. The fractional ones are near impossible to find. Very short lived as well as being one of if not the first silver round.
Hi Mark, great video. I think another topic for a video is how much is in circulation of some of these top 10 products and whether this counts when investing.
Love the video , although TBH unless people stacked early it’s more a case of get what you can. Living in London I mainly own 1 Oz gold Britannia coins and also LBMA bars. Buying your own country’s products often means that on selling (e.g. in my case Gold Britannia’s) the proceeds are deemed CGT exempt. As the coins are usually legal tender in their country of origin. Worth bearing in mind for those holding larger amounts for long term (and who may need to sell gold over and above their CGT allowance).

There are many who bought in the last time silver took off and lost better than half of what they invested as silver went from sub 50.00 to sub 15.00 in a very short time.
ASE are good for buying into around 20.00 when things settle dow. Look, i bought in after the silver crash and started buying eagles at 16.00 Now i stay strictly to sovereign coins that will gain in value over the yrs due to numismatic value. I dont buy anything over 22.00 as that was where silver topped out for me. My cost average is around 18.00 Thats including generics like bars. Those i will sell if silver takes off. Britannias/maples w privys/queens beast are favorites.
Before all this happened recently several bullion sites had starter kits wher u could get 10 oz silver at spot. I would try to tell people at my page but never got much traffic.
Here u can still find an ounce of gold at spot. 10 1/10 oz gold eagles. everything else ther is overpriced.

Why would the Kruggerand not be on this list?
It's not 999.9 gold.
@@xd-metal9026 the number 2 gold eagle isnt either... it got 1 oz pure gold in it like the kruegerrand so it makes 0 sense that the kruegerrand wouldnt be on here.... one of the most minted, most recognizable, world-wide most known investment gold bullion ever, low spread, close to spot... i dont get it...
What about the Queens Beasts 1oz gold coin. The first edition is going for up to £2,400, massive demand and look great!
I am with you on the Queen's beast series for beauty ... I have all in Silver and gold... just one more left in the series out in September...
What about the queen's beast gold PROOFS 😜
I started yesterday with philharmonic, american eagle and krugerrand silver coins😊

Really professional thank you.
Think the title should be top 10 products I like, 3 coins that easily make any top 10 are the Kruger, the brittania, and the gold sovereign.
Good observation. I was wondering where the UK sovereign and Britannia were.
I really love those coins also... I also love the Silver trade dollars.... beautiful...
I also get at least one kilo coin every year. They really stand out when you display them with other coins. Also, PAMP now makes an excellent rhodium bar in assay with the phone verification app.
They need to add an android version.
very well made thx for the video :)
A list without the Krugerrand? You‘re serious?
It's not 999.9 gold.
@@xd-metal9026 Neither is the AE and yet it's #2
22 carat gold krugerands have that tiny bit of copper content precisely because it makes the coin harder wearing, and there is a reason it has outsold all other 1oz gold coins combined for liquidity and investment.
@@xd-metal9026 Libertad is .999 no mention of it.
@@tonebonetones outsold because it had a 20 year head start on the eagle and a decade on the Maple.
I think the durability factor is not a factor now. We have things call clear plastic protective casings. I'd rather have something that is 99.9 or 99.99 % pure vs 91 or 92% pure.
My favs in no particular order are -
Silver Eagles
Gold buffalo
Scottsdale stackers (any weight)
10 oz Kookaburra
Peace Dollars (and all junk silver actually)
Canadian Maples
Love those 10oz kooks!!!!
Would LOVE to hear your opinion about jewelry, especially watches.
Great suggestion!
What acrylic case are you displaying while talking about Veriscan on the PAMP bar!? Thanks again!
5:31 THIS!!! YES!!! Yes!!! 💯% Only reason I turned away from the maple.
It all depends in what country you live in. If you're in Switzerland the 20 franc vreneli is number 1, in France it's the 20 franc napoleon. I expect the kruggerand is number one in south africa, the 50 pesos in central and south america and so on.
from the dappling ive done in the hobby over the last year or so, this list seems to line up pretty much with expectation.
You must be joking, go back and check your homework. The gold Krugerrand has outsold every other gold 1 oz coin combined!
Thanks for the video. I rank the silver Phils higher. I have previously found that maples too often have have milk-spots. Have they changed the way they polish?
Yeah.. I haven't had any milk spot problems since the 2018s. I have wayyyyy more Phils with milk spots at this point. The Royal Mint stuff is starting to give me milk spot issues as well, which is a shame because I love Britannias.
Royal Canadian Mint has finally solved the notorious milk spot issue. It's called mintshield technology-zero milk spots after 2018!
@@petero958 That's right!
@@petero958 I wonder if I can have my wildlife series sent back to have milk spots removed? :(
@@TheRealBrook1968 Would be nice.. I think mintshield only works if applied during initial minting.
IMO, platinum Queen beast must rank no.1 beautiful design, low premium, highest face value 100 pounds and at a discount price....right now platinum is the only precious metal cheaper than silver even (compare to value).
How is platinum cheaper than silver?
@@silverlion5384 Technically...
it is more rare than gold and see it's chart...it was at $1800 in recession...and now it is at discount price.
Silver is the most reflective metal. More than platinum. So the Silver Philharmonic should be better to look at than the platinum!
I have silver Philharmonics... very lovely coins
Evenrude Ranger: True, but looks aren't everything :-/
I didn’t know Kyle Busch sells precious metals.
Well done. Very informative.
Question. When it's time to sell some silver is it better to sell bullion or sell some pre 64 silver first? Let me know what you think. Thanks
Wow! that's for sharing that!!!! Crazy.
Coins that are used or circulated (or intended for use or circulation)
The coins are exempt GST.
Coins that are not considered to be “cash” but meet the definition of fine metal
These coins are exempt GST and for Customs purposes are considered to be goods. If you import goods obtained overseas with a total value of NZ$700 or more, you are required to declare these on the NZ Passenger Arrival card.
Coins that are not considered to be “cash” and do not meet the definition of fine metal
These coins are subject to GST and for Customs purposes are considered to be goods.
The GST exemption for fine metal applies to:
• Gold, in any form, being gold of a fineness of not less than 99.5 percent.
IMHO
Just more flexible
If I remember correctly, the Buffalo had higher premium than the Eagle a couple years ago.

Very enjoyable, thanks.

Excellent commentary and choices
I could have sworn that Cohen Mint used to sell Rhodium coins before they went out of business.
@swp Wouldn't you recommend 1 oz gold Britannia coins?
And the end of the day it is all about what people can afford. I have maybe a dozen gold coins that I have acquired over the years, but amongst them there is only one 1oz coin- a gold kangaroo. A 1 kilo gold bar is a purchase that the majority of people can only dream about....
Silver Maple Leaf also has a special protection against milkspots etc., and a security singn witch can be scanned by a special scanner.
The ugly granny mugshot is definitely a stain on the maples but yes still a epic coin
I like the "granny mugshot" but I admit an image of Kate Middleton would be much nicer!
She's a lovely Queen!
I have a couple of the RCM bars and I can say be the other 100 oz bars I have the RCM are the nicest
How do feel about Sunshine Mint products?
Drunkbikewrenchen I’m not a fan. I’m not sure why. I’m more of a Scottsdale Mint guy. What about you? I wouldn’t pass it up at the right price, but I don’t go searching for it.
The Si verification is nice, gives u some extra peace of mind. The biggest thing to consider is that it isn't sovereign. It makes a difference to some people.
What do you think about Mexican Gold and Silver? Centenario, Hidalgo an Ounce?
Great info. Thanks.
Thanks for the video....
Should I buy products in Assay or without?
Ayyyy Australia represent!!
PRO tip: royal Canadian has tighter spreads, better pricing and easier liquidity. Shout out to CAN
@Ilir Cami Because RCM products are more pure, more competitively priced and I would argue higher quality with more consumer choices.

Thanks for this. It is very informative and helpful! I will look more closely at the Maple leaf now.
Hi Mark,
What’s the name of the app you refer to in this video? I’d like to look at it.
Thanks
Love the video , although TBH unless people stacked early it’s more a case of get what you can. Living in London I mainly own 1 Oz gold Britannia coins and also LBMA bars. Buying your own country’s products often means that on selling (e.g. in my case Gold Britannia’s) the proceeds are deemed CGT exempt. As the coins are usually legal tender in their country of origin. Worth bearing in mind for those holding larger amounts for long term (and who may need to sell gold over and above their CGT allowance).
i luv! the brittannias! just got me some chinese border ones on the way. gorgeous and would be perfect with princess diana on them.
Cmore Butts - went to my highly reputable dealer’s website all last week. Out of the many hundreds of products they listed and stocked they now only have 1 Oz Gold Krugerrands !
