I used a 3" hole saw for my triglide with oil for cutting took about, 3 minutes each side: then installed the Thunder Torque inserts for reversion... sounds great and runs great!
Thanks for the video man. I know it's a few years old but still helpful. I just did this to my 2019 Road Glide. 30 minutes and both sides were done. Not sure why people are be bitches about the right side pipe. It was the exact same as the left. Thanks again bud!
LBCSG17 I think some people are confused about older models. I believe 2017+ M8 exhaust is the same on both sides. I believe the other guys are thinking about the Twin Cam setups.
So I done this to my 2015 Road Glide Pros, sound amazing and only 20 minutes of work very easy. Cons, loss of low end torque do to no back pressure, Catalytic converter is during a bluish purple color, it pops every so often do to be ending lean, it seems O2 sensors didn't recalibrate air/fuel mixture, I don't recommend doing this save up for pipes.
Damn that guy recording needs a inhaler!! He was breathing so hard I thought the bike was on for a minute there! Just kidding I’m just being an ass, great video thanks!
A Dremel with a metal cutting blade will work if you done have a die grinder. Funny how ppl always do the left one , there's a reason the right side ( on Twin cams) is different and more difficult
I like the videos when they show what really happens when you run into problems. You don’t get caught off guard if they’re being realistic in their videos.
Have '01 Heritage with stage 1 kit. An 2 into 1 Screamin Eagle exhaust. The baffle n guts are held in by a Single Screw underneath. I pulled it all out. But lost power cuz No back pressure. So i cut the baff. in half an reinstalled it. Sounds fkn awesome an i got Not only power back but it Runs way better in performance too.
I have a 13 Street Glide and am interested in removing the baffles in the stock pipes, but everywhere I read, they are all saying they are losing low end torque. But, your saying you gained a bit of power ... Any thoughts?
One problem. You didn't show how to remove the right baffle. You and I both know it's a completely different process so why don't you make a video on the right side to show the difference.
James Collier I just did it on my 2015 road glide and I had the same baffle as the left on my right but I know what you mean about the big baffle on the right side
Just wondering if you could remove the packing from muffler then weld the baffle back on for back pressure? And still get sound but not suffer low end power
Would it be possible to remove the baffles from only one pipe and leave the other as is to get moderate sound level. .? or this will make pressure on one side of the engine.
No, You can just Tear the ECM Outta There! Also any time you see wires and stuff on your bike, YANK THEM OUT by the roots, cut them with wire cutters etc. Anything Just Cut And Remove All Wires From the Bike. Go for the CLEAN LOOK.
Russ Ball The right side has a fitting that needs to be compressed/crushed in order to be removed. Much more difficult than left side. There are videos on here that demonstrate that.
Why not leave the packing in? Probably has a deeper, cleaner sound to it. Besides, over time I bet it burns out anyways so might as well enjoy the cleaner sound while you can. Or you can get more sound by taking the mufflers off and removing the packing from the back to leave the baffles in place, get more sound that way but not be stupid loud with empty pipes.
We noticed a gain in power through the whole rpm range the smaller piping coming off the engine gives you enough back pressure you could weld them back in but you will be welding on the pipe thay is chrome on the other side so you will get color change
There is no way in hell you gor more power from that motor by taking out the baffles. Think for a minute. Ther is no chance harley designed an exhaust system that chokes power out of their product. You think it has more power becuase its louder. Not a chance.
from what I understand the right hand side is a lot more difficult to get the baffle out due to it being larger in size so can you make a video for extracting the right hand side baffle???
jerry strickland so... the setup in the video is purely just baffle and insulation removal? That slanted end piece, what is it and does it need to be welded back in place?
I haven’t seen any videos of the right side being done on a 14 or newer. I wonder if they are the same now. The pre 14s have that extra piece on the right from what I’ve seen.
I used a 3" hole saw for my triglide with oil for cutting took about, 3 minutes each side: then installed the Thunder Torque inserts for reversion... sounds great and runs great!

Did you feel any lose in power in your bike ??
I m thinking about saving money and doing my removal of catalyst converter 2020 road glide special
So I done this to my 2015 Road Glide
Pros, sound amazing and only 20 minutes of work very easy.
Cons, loss of low end torque do to no back pressure, Catalytic converter is during a bluish purple color, it pops every so often do to be ending lean, it seems O2 sensors didn't recalibrate air/fuel mixture, I don't recommend doing this save up for pipes.
Hmmm, must be pretty loud. I just drilled a bunch of large holes around the baffle and like the sound. Maybe a little too subtle for some.
Why dont you get an extension and a set of "christmas tree" drill bits, and drill out the baffle to the diameter that gets you the sound you want?
Damn that guy recording needs a inhaler!!
He was breathing so hard I thought the bike was on for a minute there! Just kidding I’m just being an ass, great video thanks!

Best part of the video is listening to the camera man breathe
Let's see the right side ...
I love it when people show half of the job...
It's probably because he didn't have the capability to do the right side...
No finesse there, what a hack, im sure the paint got whacked.

Mines 07 heritage, same thing. Just one bolt.
I have a 13 Street Glide and am interested in removing the baffles in the stock pipes, but everywhere I read, they are all saying they are losing low end torque. But, your saying you gained a bit of power ... Any thoughts?
Doing this you loose back pressure so that means you loose hp unless you retune
What about right exhaust?
I wanna hear how loud it is ??
Hello there … if i remove my baffle from my 2 into 1 pro pipes n run it that way , would it mess up my exhaust or will it be ok ?
add a lollipop to make up for low end like on the old dirt bikes just a washer welded to a bolt an its tuneable hahaha works great on a 09 flhx
Why didn’t you do the right one?is that right side different then the left?
And...that would be a yes. Not as easy.
What do you have to do after removing baffles? Is there any replacement of sensors, or changes in the engine?
You made that look super easy... Imma try that
Pipes turning blue or popping. It's running lean. I would suggest remapping. If you have the credit card type fuel adjuster, enrich with more fuel.
How does it sound?
Did you install those baffles on cameraman’s nostrils? If not, it might be a good idea
I was looking to have trouble on my right pipe and it came out just as easy as the lift one. I was looking to have trouble. 2015 street glide special.
Do you think this is the same process for the stock pipes on my 2004 Road King?
One problem. You didn't show how to remove the right baffle. You and I both know it's a completely different process so why don't you make a video on the right side to show the difference.
James Collier I just did it on my 2015 road glide and I had the same baffle as the left on my right but I know what you mean about the big baffle on the right side
thanks for adding another video of what we already know how to do. show your take on the right side; that's more interesting.
yup you right
I just did it on my 2020 street glide they both slid out and I did it with a electric drill at that in about 25 mins
@@ILikeWetVaginas any loss in power removing the baffles or did you add a Fuel pak kit to adjust motor to pipes ??
will it not mess up the mapping and tuning on the fuel injection
Just wondering if you could remove the packing from muffler then weld the baffle back on for back pressure? And still get sound but not suffer low end power
046642 How much low end power is actually being lost? I removed the baffles on my Softail Breakout, and didn't notice the loss of power.
Would it be possible to remove the baffles from only one pipe and leave the other as is to get moderate sound level. .? or this will make pressure on one side of the engine.
you could as long as your bike had a y pipe
+jerry strickland
Thanks man.
wtf was the hammer for
So will this void my warranty
thanks, took me 15 min, sounds way better.
Does the ecm have to be remapped after you do this?
No, You can just Tear the ECM Outta There! Also any time you see wires and stuff on your bike, YANK THEM OUT by the roots, cut them with wire cutters etc. Anything Just Cut And Remove All Wires From the Bike. Go for the CLEAN LOOK.
You are good , try the right side now and see how much fun you will have
So what if you want to put the baffles back in?
You would have to replace them i would not suggest trying to go back
Now do the right hand side.... a little more difficult ain't it?
Russ Ball there is no difference in the right or the left side. They are both the exact same. Whoever told you they are different is a jackass lol
Nate Mitch the right side is more difficult
Russ Ball The right side has a fitting that needs to be compressed/crushed in order to be removed. Much more difficult than left side. There are videos on here that demonstrate that.
Yes it is . The right one has a balloon configuration that require several cutting and then crushing to let it out.
ua-cam.com/video/usVmZOPlN1I/v-deo.html Take a look Nate. Now, who's the jackass?
Why not leave the packing in? Probably has a deeper, cleaner sound to it. Besides, over time I bet it burns out anyways so might as well enjoy the cleaner sound while you can.

Do you have video of pipes after removal ?
just what is in video just that baffle is gone nothing on the outside
right side ?
what about the right hand side one ??????
We only did one side so it was half cool lol. It was the same process as the left.
from what I understand the right hand side is a lot more difficult to get the baffle out due to it being larger in size so can you make a video for extracting the right hand side baffle???
that sides easy...the right sides metal baffle is shaped differently and harder to remove.
Did yhe bike need to be remapped?
no we didn't
That's how you remove a baffle on the left side, right side is a bit more difficult
Face shield lol. Nice video ty
Does removing the baffles decrease performance, HP, and are they responsible for the needed backpressure?
Road King Glider the baffles do hold some backpressure we did gain in low end power
jerry strickland so... the setup in the video is purely just baffle and insulation removal?
That slanted end piece, what is it and does it need to be welded back in place?
Road King Glider we didn't weld nothing back in left the metal and fiberglass out
jerry strickland - thinking of doing this to my 2015 Indian chief.... Your thoughts..?
Road King Glider that's a nice bike the pipes should be very simular just be careful to only cut the inside metal it's very thin
why the camera man breathing so damn hard lmao
Because he's getting so excited in anticipation for how badass that bike is gonna sound once they're done...
The title should be different! like: HOW TO REMOVE THE LEFT STOCK BAFFLES ON A HARLEY DAVIDSON
That right one tho 😂
That was the easy part now remove the right side. Totally different animal
Why is the man on the camera breathing so loud??
pretty sure this will void the warranty
lol why didnt you do the right side? not the same as the left
we did do it the same I just didn't feel like recording the whole thing I would presume people to be smart enough that we did
Oh im 100% sure you did cause why wouldn't you. Im just saying taking the baffle out on the right side its not the same as the left. "Not as easy"
It's just the same as the left side...I just did it last week. I used a Dremmel with little cutting wheels and it worked fine.
I haven’t seen any videos of the right side being done on a 14 or newer. I wonder if they are the same now. The pre 14s have that extra piece on the right from what I’ve seen.
lets see the right side done bud! lol
Right side, right side…. bunch of cry babies.
Oh, did I forget to mention the “right side?”
Good video, thanks.
Do the right side now buddy!!!
Pro-Tip: Use real eye protection and not just corrective eye glasses. Imagine losing an eye due to something that easy.
Dude, chicks dig a one eyed guy
Well fucking duh, now help these folks out with the right side.
Now show us all how to do the right side . Hahaha
Not for a 2023 street bob... cut loose wont come out
you want your bike to run hot, do it
jackson j No it doesn't run hot hahahaha some of you guys and your thought are so classic.
i would probably buy some slip-ons or new pipes instead of taking a grinder to a 20 thousand dollar bike...
What about the right side. That's the pain in the ass side
Did this now my bike back fires
Everyone videos the left side seems easy 'Til the right side which is a bitch to do.
now right side.!
"How to remove a baffle... and get lung cancer". Dudes, wear a mask instead of breathing in that fiberglass dust.
Pussy 😆
Always taking the easy way out....
No safety concern
You shouldn't have done that. Messing with a Harley. If I see you on the street your're going to get your ass kicked.
