I have found in life the best way to prove people wrong is with facts, this is why certain ideologies that are ruining society hate facts, you simply can not argue with them, they are facts. This video totally destroys any argument that I thumb up games due to being given incentives. I am 100% gamer and always will be, I answer to my fellow gamers and run this channel for my fellow gamers, regardless of platform. I continue to call out bad gaming practices such as day 1 DLC and in game microtransactions and always will. I will still have my preference for first person over third person and still yearn for games built with passion but I will not be pigeon holed into biased bullshit just because certain people demand that I hate all games with women leads or all third person games, I judge all games on their fun elements regardless of design.

Very good video, this applies to basically any UA-cam content but I imagine it's a lot worse on games because of how polarised fan boys are. At the end of the day a review is an opinion, there are often games you like that I dislike or vice-versa, but it's down to opinion and you always give your reasons for why you like or dislike something so noone can fault you on that. Keep up the great videos.

I think you have to remember that when people see reviewers ''rewarded'' with trips, hotel rooms, free merch, as well as a free game these days it does make people suspicious and so they should be. Remember Fallout 76? Every single person that went on the free, all expenses paid boys outing came back and told us that they loved the game and we should rush out and pre order it. At launch as we all know the game was and still is broken. Essentially, every single reviewer that told us to buy that unplayable game would have said that the freebies wouldn't sway them and they would give us an honest opinion - I think we can all agree Bethesda essentially bought them even if they were not aware of it. People should be suspicious, but they should also watch the review and see what they think. It's wrong of you to get angry about it. I don't think they are saying anything negative about you, rather they are saying the gaming industry is broken. In regards to you liking a game or trashing it. Unless it's a broken game, it comes down to you being opinionated which is why people watch a reviewer ha. Games are subjective. So you not liking a game for cosmetic reasons is valid, but an opinion. People may get worked up, but that's because they can't understand that. You are literally the only game reviewer I watch. Keep doing what you're doing & don't get pissed off.

New to the channel, found it recently through a recommendation from 21Kiloton. Really appreciated this video. Gears doesn't interest me in the slightest, zero fucks given, but I enjoyed seeing someone refute the inevitable onslaught of anonymous bullshit that must hit like a truck any time someone puts an unpopular opinion out. If a game is enjoyable and doesn't have too many marks against it for technical issues, anti-consumer practices, etc, that's that. Opinions will filter out people's game libraries, but enjoyable games that don't have insidious shit hidden in them deserve to be acknowledged as enjoyable on their own merits. It sounds like a lot of your older viewers are taking issue with that sort of acknowledgement as though they'd rather you shit on the game on principle. Perhaps my new sub will help balance out their hissy fits. Looking forward to future videos, and I'll be snooping through the back catalog in the meantime.

I genuinely believe you liked the game. The problem is it contains a lot of the same flaws you usually attack in other games in your reviews (this is also a core point to your audience and why we love watching your reviews). These flaws are FACTS. Most of your audience will agree with your opinion on these facts. If you then choose to thumb up a game that incorporates a lot of these "facts" just because you happen to enjoy playing it this time around (which is your opinion and not fact), you should expect some backlash (be it tactful or not). Don't take it personal though.

You missed out on the first 3 gears of war. The gameplay is more or less the same but Gears 2 in particular is very good. 1, 2 and 3 are well worth trying for the story alone.

Mack, when I see a game on steam or somewhere else that I've never heard of, I almost always do a search to see if you have reviewed it, for multiple reasons. You're honest with your opinions, you make me laugh, and I have found that the majority of the games that you like, I've liked as well. This goes back to the days of picking up video game magazines to get pre-release reviews. Some magazines just didn't vibe with me, but the couple that did turned me on to some great games that I wouldn't have just picked up on a whim. When I'm bored and looking for something different, I pull up your thumbs up playlist and find something. I find you reliable. For those that I don't find reliable, I just keep scrolling. For people to harass you for what you like or don't like is ignorance and more often than not, immaturity. You have to account for the age of some of these nitwits. Keep doing what you're doing because you do a damn good job doing it. Thank you!

Eight years ago I was a fit, healthy and happy chat; then I took a blow to the back of my head- from a falling mirror of all things talk about seven years bad luck- and my world turned into a living nightmare. Very good video, this applies to basically any UA-cam content but I imagine it's a lot worse on games because of how polarised fan boys are. At the end of the day a review is an opinion, there are often games you like that I dislike or vice-versa, but it's down to opinion and you always give your reasons for why you like or dislike something so noone can fault you on that. Keep up the great videos.

I think you have to remember that when people see reviewers ''rewarded'' with trips, hotel rooms, free merch, as well as a free game these days it does make people suspicious and so they should be. Remember Fallout 76? Every single person that went on the free, all expenses paid boys outing came back and told us that they loved the game and we should rush out and pre order it. At launch as we all know the game was and still is broken. Essentially, every single reviewer that told us to buy that unplayable game would have said that the freebies wouldn't sway them and they would give us an honest opinion - I think we can all agree Bethesda essentially bought them even if they were not aware of it.
People should be suspicious, but they should also watch the review and see what they think. It's wrong of you to get angry about it. I don't think they are saying anything negative about you, rather they are saying the gaming industry is broken.
In regards to you liking a game or trashing it. Unless it's a broken game, it comes down to you being opinionated which is why people watch a reviewer ha. Games are subjective. So you not liking a game for cosmetic reasons is valid, but an opinion. People may get worked up, but that's because they can't understand that.

New to the channel, found it recently through a recommendation from 21Kiloton. Really appreciated this video. Gears doesn't interest me in the slightest, zero fucks given, but I enjoyed seeing someone refute the inevitable onslaught of anonymous bullshit that must hit like a truck any time someone puts an unpopular opinion out. If a game is enjoyable and doesn't have too many marks against it for technical issues, anti-consumer practices, etc, that's that. Opinions will filter out people's game libraries, but enjoyable games that don't have insidious shit hidden in them deserve to be acknowledged as enjoyable on their own merits. It sounds like a lot of your older viewers are taking issue with that sort of acknowledgement as though they'd rather you shit on the game on principle. Perhaps my new sub will help balance out their hissy fits. Looking forward to future videos, and I'll be snooping through the back catalog in the meantime.

I genuinely believe you liked the game. The problem is it contains a lot of the same flaws you usually attack in other games in your reviews (this is also a core point to your audience and why we love watching your reviews). These flaws are FACTS. Most of your audience will agree with your opinion on these facts. If you then choose to thumb up a game that incorporates a lot of these "facts" just because you happen to enjoy playing it this time around (which is your opinion and not fact), you should expect some backlash (be it tactful or not). Don't take it personal though.

You missed out on the first 3 gears of war. The gameplay is more or less the same but Gears 2 in particular is very good.
1, 2 and 3 are well worth trying for the story alone.

Mack, when I see a game on steam or somewhere else that I've never heard of, I almost always do a search to see if you have reviewed it, for multiple reasons. You're honest with your opinions, you make me laugh, and I have found that the majority of the games that you like, I've liked as well. This goes back to the days of picking up video game magazines to get pre-release reviews. Some magazines just didn't vibe with me, but the couple that did turned me on to some great games that I wouldn't have just picked up on a whim. When I'm bored and looking for something different, I pull up your thumbs up playlist and find something. I find you reliable. For those that I don't find reliable, I just keep scrolling. For people to harass you for what you like or don't like is ignorance and more often than not, immaturity. You have to account for the age of some of these nitwits. Keep doing what you're doing because you do a damn good job doing it. Thank you!

You can't please everyone, there will be people that really do disagree with you and provide valid points (which is fine). But most just want attention. Eight years ago I was a fit, healthy and happy chat; then I took a blow to the back of my head- from a falling mirror of all things talk about seven years bad luck- and my world turned into a living nightmare. My body suddenly became a sadist trying to kill me in the most painful way possible. And, there really were a few years there when I did feel close to death. Laughing has been one of the few ways to escape. So, when I found this channel and your rants against the gaming industry it was a godsend (I'll have to watch Dave Chappelle next). I hadn't laughed so much in ages. And, if the gaming industry accidentally comes out with a good game once in a while you can hardly do anything other than give it a fair review. They also gave you a key because they knew they had a good game that could be downvoted by anyone fair-minded
