well having spent far to long reading the manual you may friend need a medal ive watched the first 11 mins of ur video and i fully understood the machine ,why couldnt the manual help me like you , and why the 7 dislikes ,, they either slipped on the wrong button or just woke up from 10 years of sleep . thanks again mate
On a scale of 1-10, this video is a 20. This should be on Behringer's home page. You just saved users about 2 years getting up to speed. Thanks so much for a totally informative hands-on tutorial. Sounds amazing for any who can't afford a Lexicon. This thing smokes many reverbs that I own including my Zoom, Yamaha, TC Electronic, and Alesis reverbs. These reverbs are the cheaper varieties than their flagship verbs. It sounds dangerously close to my Mid-priced Lexicon or EV/Dynacord. The EV/ Dynacord is like experiencing reverb instead of hearing it. I think it might even give the PCM70 a run for it's money. Perhaps the the PCM80 or PCM90 might win out, we are talking multiple thousands to get the real Lexicon sound. It's been my experience that the cheaper Lexicon units have always left me disappointed. This thing is a no-brainer...
The unit is horribly underrated and likely because so many bought it for use with the guitar. Most, though not all, of it's effects sound crummy and cheap with a strong amp and pedal distortion, but a mild overdrive or clean guitar, other instruments and vocals, it's still competitive with equipment in 2024.
BRILLIANT! This video by far is the most intelligent comprehensive and useful video tutorial on the Virtualizer Pro. This unit like the V-AMP Pro is an astounding processor that is left toe end user to to figure out and this has done the Behringer brand more harm than any competitor could do. Why Behringer invests so much in engineering and design and then fails to offer a tutorial program to its users is a puzzling and continuous blunder considering the quality of many of their products. Great video ...THANKS!
Thank you, it’s very much appreciated 😊
Great video. I do wish you had explored the multi effect combinations (61 - 71 according to the manual) especially the Delay & Reverb. I can't be the only one watching this who is searching for something to send FX to a mixer for vocalists.
I installed one on my guitar amplifier head 20 years ago and will never replace it. I value it so much I have a 2nd. *With excessive guitar distortion, the unit sounds pretty bad with a lot of effects, but just some overdrive or clean, it's phenomenal and still has effects that work great with a highly distorted guitar.*
I switched my guitar amp to it's clean channel with an overdrive pedal tonight and started scrolling through effects and had phenomenal results. *It's such a simple unit and though I have high end Zoom valve processors, a Valeton GP200 and a few other new ones, this has plenty of sounds they can't get even with their modern and elaborate capabilities.*
What's crazy though is rack mount processors are being discontinued by just about every known brand.
The keyboard sounds amazing through that.
THANK YOU tremendously for making this video tutorial, for I've been struggling on how to use it ever since I bought it few years ago. You are indeed a big help.
You are so welcome!
Thank you...This video help a lot. I have the DSP2024P but basically on the same lines. I've had this thing for years and it just sat in the rack never used. Been stranded in the house, decided to give it a go!.
Thanks for making this mate. Very informative and well presented!
as said a few times already ...great explanations
I think i'll buy one tomorrow !
As you say, " Top Job " my boy. Excellent video, excellent tutorial, I just keep on watching it over & over & over & over again, can't stop.
Every time I learn something else, I'M ADDICTED. ;-) Nice One.
Thanks a million, best regards, James.
As you know I’m a big big fan of behringer, most of my studio gear is behringer. Darn it all Doug I only just bought a keystep, now I’m going to have to get this as well.....
Behringer, HIRE THIS MAN! Excellent tutorial and you deserve a commission from the manufacturer. Thank you!
Thank you! I know this has been a hot second since you posted but it got me up and going!😍
Interesting unit. And it is super cheap. I like it. It have midi on the back so I wonder if I could control it with some guitar midi pedals and use it as FX processor. The ammount of FX included is amazing.
That reverb was surprisingly high quality for the price.
Good vid I had trouble understanding this thing. But now that Ive seen this I can apply it and then when I forget evreyhting anyway next time I can rewatch this.
HAHA, I love it, that wet signal sounded like a Star Trek episode.
Great vid. Fantastic info and very well presented. I have just purchased this (not arrived yet), but this will come in real handy. You made it look very easy. Nice and clear. Thank you :
I really like that heavy reverb on piano and keys, really digging this unit for my setup... will most likely purchase one. 🤘🔥
Thank you! This tutorial was awesome
Nice one geez, love your simple explanation of using the unit. Also helps that it’s Robbie Williams lol. That’s all I hear is his voice 😂. You want to get a gig with ‘spitting images’ with that voice, if you can sing as well as you sound like him talking, you’re on to a winner. Remember to pay me later 😆
I've found one for like 40€, my main doubt is: does it sync via midi with a daw or a midi sequencer ?
If it does I'll buy it asap !!!
Nice and detailed demo/tutorial btw, useful as usual !
Can you make a video how to connect BEHRINGER FX2000 to a mackie mixer?
Hey , thanks ...very helpful, makes the unit usable again. I found the user manual confusing/cumbersome and gave up. ...
To add my 5 cents worth of experience: as with all effects units one has to find your own parameters to suit "YOUR" style , then and only then it works for you... that takes time....
Not easy to read, and not enough in the manual. This video is surely appreciated.
I got one of these dirt cheap nearly 10 years ago. Versatile unit. Only cheap because it was on a display window rack, boxed like new only rubber washer screw marks to give it away, power cable was still sealed and tied in the bag, 50 quid, bargain in 2011
Id love to here u play live on the piano, great demo. try use better camera angle. you are very talented my friend. If you have any recordings let people here them...
Excellent walk through.
thanks for your video, explains the device a lot!
I want to chain (serial) several effects like pitch shift (doubler), delay and reverb. Can anyone tell me how to do this?
Good sounding unit! And cheap!
Not sure why there is midi.. is it also a sound module?
Are you from Stoke? Loved the video btw.
Bought one of these a few years ago .. I say bought ... they were practically giving them away. Used it about twice , recall it was a palaver to use. Maybe I’ll watch the vid and learn it’s not such a menu dive after all.
Sounds like you had no patience my friend lol
@@vontreherumaiBH i dont LOL ! that said i bought a second one ... great bit of kit for the money
@@iamyourfuture808 aha I feel you lol
I was considering one of these, but the last thing I want to do is wade through yet another labyrinth of complex instructions. One thing I did notice is that the price is very low for these, at several different vendors. I can guess why that is . . . It does make nice sounds, but not worth the effort
Hey great guide. Understood really well. But what I didn't find is that I am trying to stream music through this (Input Apple music from my phone and output from my speaker). And whatever setting or effect I change heavily affects the instruments played in the song whereas the vocals seem pretty damp distant and distorted. And I am unable to find any setting to improve the vocals. Any suggestions?
Please explain cable setup for Stereo to and from mixer to Virtualizer.
Many thanks.
Nice video one cuestion Are you using all the cables in Mono? oh TRS balances
Coming back to this demo after the 18 months it was made; are you still using it mate?
I'm not just tuning in to hear a scouser say internal and external, honest :-/
*This is exactly WHY guitar center, american musical supply and zzounds refuse to carry BEHRINGER BRAND! This unit is $150 us and sounds like a hi-dollar LEXICON/TC ELECTRONIC..! The Behringer ADA8200 is all the same with mic 8 preamps comparable to units costing thousands of dollars and for only $250.*
Hey, thabks for the brilliant overview! Can i ask, whats the rack youre sitting it on? Im only going to have 1 rackmount item so i dont need a big one.
I can’t remember now, but I think it was from Gear4Music, here in the U.K.
I’m sure where you are but they ship everywhere I think, hope this helps.
Also, I think was about £20, and has room for three racks.
Great demo. The value of this thing is undeniable and the effects sound OK but that user interface is a nightmare and the display is some awful throwback to the 1980s. Would find it a hindrance to productivity.
Great video. I'm struggling to create custom presets and perform midi program changes with this unit though. Any chance you could demonstrate that? How to do midi PC on the User presets?
Thanx don't laugh but I've been using this for years just the presets with the midi commander on guitar I've just decided to do a deep dive
Cheap as chips, sounds good and easy enough to use.
What's not to like?
Just grabbed a second one for £50, so bargains are still to be had.
I still find myself going for my trusty old Digitech Studio Quad if I want complex effects, but these are great for inserts.
Definitely, I'm probably going to grab a second one too since they're so damn cheap. Both of my synths will have one each instead of having to swap inputs via patch bay
Is it possible to run two amp effect loops into this and get two seperate effects chains???
I run two amps simultaniously into two seperate 4x12 cabs.
I need tutorials for the this effect.but I need setup for individual channel .like for R side reverb and L side delay.
Can I use this as a PA amplifier with XLR output to speakon cable into the passive speaker?
Thanks for this. I am using as a vocalist. I'm using the Ch/RV present slightly tweaked, but do you know if it is possible to combine with the compression setting?
Hello Mate. So you are happy to use this for live singing effects? reverb echo or delays etc? Would you reckon more than a TC helicon?
Does the effects sound almost mono? i'm hardly hearing any separation
Can the COMPRESSOR itself be activated ...while at the same time, still able to select a "Special FX "setting such as a combo delay/reverb, or is it one or the other? It would be nice to be able to have the built in compressor for vocals and still use the effects such as reverb. Is this possible?
It seems to be ONE or Two effects at a time?
Good video and good work, it was very interesting. Thank you /////////////////////////
Can you use the effects on vocals
This company is God
Great demo for sure- can you tell me the model of the rack mount your using?
Эх, знать бы разговорный английский, лежит такой аппарат, хочу применить его к вокалу. Пою для себя и друзей. Спасибо за видео.
Are they still in production? Struggling to find one brand new
Thomann have new stock for £109. (The reason I know this is because I bought one from them last week.)
@@McSynth oh good. they didnt have it before.
How can i switch between the channels? For use channel 1 with effect and channel 2 without effect for example? Direct connection per channel to the device not over aux send.
hi how do you set it up on stereo I have failed to do it I have balanced Leeds can you help ,I see you have both stereo channels working how ?
I'm trying to run my dsp2024P as an effects bus to single or multiple channels on my Tascam model 24 but I am running into some problems. I cannot seem to get a signal from the mono1&2 aux output(1/4 TRS) to the virtualizer. Microphone XLR input To track X There is a fader knob to control the output level to the mono which is on track 23 sending effect bus to track Y
Thankyou very much..I am using it in a music system at home...you helped me alot as the manual isn't great..
Can you use this unit in two channels? Like one channel for effects on the mobile sound system to equalizer and other channel for microphone.
Yeah, I just got one of these. Really wish they had put a lot more into the display. I mean it's just 4 digits, pretty lame.
I just hooked this product up from years ago.I want to use it for dj effects how?
I’m not really sure this is the kind of unit to use for that kind of effect.
What do you mean by DJ Effects?
not a bad unit for the price
that low thunder rumble every time you play the keys made this difficult to listen to and focus on, using headphones..
Ty for video, i have the manual. never read it.
Hi, thanks for the helpful video really appreciate it one simple question after saving my preferred setting if I switch it off and power it on again after a while does it start with my saved setting or with its internal setting
Thank you
Hey man, great tutorial, it's really helped me understand the thing. I've got a question for you though. I can't seem to figure out how to properly connect my condensor mic to this thing and have it work. It's because it doesn't get any panthom power from anywhere. But if I patch it through my audio interface which has phantom power with 6.3mm cables, I get a bunch of feedback. What am I doing wrong? Do I need to get a seperate thing to provide the phantom power? Any tips?
You would definitely be better off getting a phantom power supply for the mic 👍😊
Attach headphone to interface. Mute monitors. attach microphone to interface > enable phantom power> adjust Mic preamp levels> continue set up and route from interface/ vocal preamp out to input of effect processor > then mute the channel you will route from processor back into recording interface.
If you've recorded a raw track prior to set up than press play and slowly increase volume if whichever channel the return signal is assigned until you hear the raw track and processed. Until there is no longer a microphone in the signal chain, dont turn on your monitors or else youll get feedback.
Hi, great job:
Can you explain how you recall user presets above "127" with a midi switch? (It's basic switch -up/down/hold-)
Factory presets are first, then you only have latest 27 left...
Thanks!
Thank you!!! This is the best explanatory video on customizing the Behringer Virtualizer's functions that I've found. The time flew by!
One thing... Do you know if you can you set up a Custom Combo Effect of your own? The pre-set Combo Effects are good, but I'd love to do some custom combos.
Thank you.
About your question, I don’t have the unit anymore, but as far as I remember you can’t set up custom combos, they are fixed.
@@TheSoundTestRoom Thanks!
Have you used it on vocals? Does it sound good ?
I can hear the effects but when i try to export the effects on my audio i dont hear the effects. It Sound like my daw not exporting the effects from my hardware how do i fix this?
Thanks so much for this video. I have virtualizer pro dsp2024. They both look the same. Since this device is a multi effect processor, using it as a send fx, how do I use different fx for different tracks. For example, can use delay on one track and use revert on another track or I can only do one fx at a time
Hey! Theres anyway to increase the volume input on the processor? I`m trying use with my mic direct on the processor, but i only get signal if theres a preamp running before him! Can you help?
If its a condenser microphone you may need fantom power to work properly.
Zoom MS-70CDR might be a better option in 2020. *Small (incomparably compact),* battery powered, chain of effects, nice user interface. (I have both devices).
Thanks for tutorial on FX2000
Yeah I was thinking about it. Only downside may be the lack of compression and psychoacoustic effects on the zoom, otherwise a great unit.
No midi tho?
@@ghost_in_the_robot But midi on this is just for some switching effects or so. For most it will be not a big deal. I bought FX2000 before MS-70CDR and if I know in advance I would not but this bulky thing. Zoom's is WAY SMALLER *and* easier to use/control. IMHO. If you have a lot of free space FX2000 might be nice, if you have a rack.
ocuparía. Me podrías ayudar como conectar mi beringer fx2000 3d a una consola touchmix de 16canales gracias
I’m running it the same way but I only get signal from one side . Are you using 2 aux sends for stereo? I wonder if mine is defective
If you want stereo, you have to use two sends and returns.
The same here I connect to my Behringer Q802 by the manual still only signal from one side on fx2000
This unit shown in this video is defective just like mine was. When he pushed the mix button it says "EXT." and does nothing... that's the defect. it SHOULD dial the mix between wet and dry.and the push toggles bypass. Something you cant do without. Nothing about this in manual or online anywhere. So in desperation i did a factory reset on my new in box unit ( hold preset and store while powering up) that fixed it now it does as i said. dials between wet/dry Its Great sounding unit with long clean reverb tails. Its very affordable. you can get several and assign them to keyboards that don't have any built in effects.
I feel like I needed to go to a Sound Engineer trade school to learn all the things the manufacturer's/user manuals just assume you already know.... just to set up some gear as an amateur musician. It's unfortunate we have to figure this stuff out on our own.
I have the exact same unit that's I'm using for FX Return on my Behringer Mixer. However, only the LEFT meter bar is moving up and down. The right one is just doing nothing. Do you know why that is? Thanks.
Because you are only using the left input and output. He is using a stereo fx send/return in the demo.
Hi
Can anyone tell me where to get the rack that the FX 2000 is mounted on in the video and what are the specs of same
Hers hoping
Where can i find something like this to buy
How to use effect for Singer
Is this machine for Guitar too?
It's an FX Rack Unit so you would normally use it with a mixer, but yes, you can put a guitar through it too, or vocals, keyboards, anything you like.
Thanks for this video. Nice to get a good close up look at it. You mentioned running it in parallel or serial. Can the unit put out more than one effect at a time? Say, reverb on some vocals (one fx send) and something else, maybe delay or overdrive for another (guitar) fx send?
Thanks.
Do you know if it's possible to combine a distortion and a delay effects on a preset?
The jog knob is a dick for live use, knocked 007 to 070, couldn't work it out until later in the night
Is it suitable for live vocals?
Jakimi kablami trzeba się posłużyć aby podłączyć
what kinda program / instrument / keyboard synth is that at 4:56???
Hi mate- have you tried the midi control?
How would I plug this up to a tube amp.
sounds muddy to me, compared to my UR824 (yamaha rev x).
Hi there! Can I save several presets which consist of a delay (matched to the tempo of the songs in the set) followed by a plate reverb? And just organize the presets in the order of my setlist? Thinking about using this live
Yes, you can save user presets in any order
Can anyone explain to me how to save presets to midi patches?
Too bad you cant custom program it with internet downloaded sounds like movie sounds.
Vocoder? VOCAL FX?
This may be a silly question but why does this unit have 2 input channels?
Hi Andrew, it has two input channels in case you wan to plug in a stereo source, like a synth.
Im looking for something like this that can be used for car audio.
Can i chain multiple effects in one preset? Say i want COMP > EQ > STEREO WIDE > LIMITER? will i be able to do that?
No, you can’t chain effects together
there are some presets where effects are chained though
