X-Men '97 was almost more perfect than my heart could take, chief among that incredible work being Magneto. How did we get lucky enough to see the best version of Erik Magnus Lehnsherr ever put onscreen? Hashtag Magneto was right, etc.

This song just fits his whole character cause of he whole life experience. As a young boy being discriminated by what his family god his family believed in around the time of World War 2
This is song is about the IRA and how they recruit children so not sure how this so is relative to Magneto or is Magneto secretly making a child army lol

For a second there I though it was an Aí version with Magneto singing Zombie 😂. Still, great video!

It's really hard not to feel for Magneto. It takes great evil to turn a man evil himself. Breaks your heart to think how much good a man like Erik could have done if it wasn't for the torment he experienced as a child
Not just his childhood trauma. He said to the UN leaders, "Do not Make Me Let You Down". He was ready to never go down the path of villainy again but more trauma caused by humans happened. The childhood trauma he went through was enough but then throw in Genosha & post-Genosha, he just could never be the same. If those things hadn't happened, he'd be doing such good for both humans & mutants.
Its even worse when you realize he was created to be as he was. Even as god shapes the clay so was Magneto not only shaped but born to be as he was.
So I found this tribute first about a week ago, but less than 30 minutes ago I found a Magneto tribute from 13 years ago using the original "Zombie" by The Cranberries. Something about this song, regardless of version, just resonates with Magneto.
Maturing is realizing Magnito was never the enemy...
Charles and Magnus have the same dream, just two very different ways of getting to that dream. They both want the best for mutants and to create a world where they don't need to be feared and hated.
For Charles, that's coexistence with humans. The "high road" if you will. He believes that with enough time, humanity will come around.
But humanity proves time and time again that they won't. Magneto wants mutants to be free at the cost of the humans. The fact that he was willing to give Charles's way and honestly, really tried to in this series made him such a compelling character. He's tried it the peaceful way and humanity just won't listen.

This hurts because Erik is still, and always has been, right. When Genosha happened, a bunch of humans hunted down Roberto and Jubilee with one of them chanting “You thought Genosha was bad?” They condone genocide. They relish genocide of innocent mutants, cast them out of society, desecrate religions and create atrocities just to rub it in their faces. And they still think they can hide behind “fear of mutants power”, when all mutants have done was been the victim of humankind’s condescending, codependent play for superiority?
Magneto *was* right.
Kind of reminds you of Malcolm x doesn't it.
In the original series we thought this man was nothing more than a villain but now he is more of a hero and all his actions from the original series too now were Justified he was right He's not a villain He's a hero to his people
Magneto is and always has been the true saviour of mutants, not Charles

Magneto really did try to embody Charles's way, but in all reality, sometimes peace requires the presence of violence.
In a perfect world, charles was right BUT in a perfect world we wouldnt need charles to begin with.
