This was such a good ending for the character, and I think Gambit was portrayed better in x-men 97' then the oirginal show
I love how Rogue mentions how h she has an evil mother (mystique) And decides to have a relationship with a 60 year old man who her ( evil mother) introduced to her! 😑

Wont lie that last word from rogue was honestly traumtizing. She cant feel anything when she is holding Gambit in her arms despite her gloves being off pressing her face against his. That is because there nothing left to feel when the dead is cold. Hell I dont know about anyone but that will kinda mess me up abit, it almost like Rogue was never meant to feel anything regardless of her powers or not.

What upset me more than Gambit’s death was the creepy disgusting retcon that teenage Rogue had a sexual relationship with Magneto. In X-Men, death is reversible, but an unpleasant romantic history is permanent.

There is nothing romantic about Gambit and Rogue in X Men 97. They don't have any chemistry at all. The writer of this show decide to tarnished their chemistry and give us another love triangle cliche ( and yes, idfc Magneto x Rogue happened in comic) because he is gay and his favorite characters are Magneto and Nightcrawler.
That Magneto x Rouge fling just an experiment it wasn't going to challenge Rogue x Gambit relationship. When Gambit sacrificed himself, seen how it broke her?
Yeah this show should be relabeled as a different continuity altogether. The love triangles would've been infinitely more bearable (still would've been rubbish, but less turd mixed in) that way. Also the whole thing between Rogue and Magneto is so weird. I'm concerned why not one character in the show pointed out how Magneto was moving too much like Drake.
It’s amazing how truly every word of this is wrong, but what confuses me more than anything else is why bring up Nightcrawler, who literally tells Remy to marry his sister in this episode? 😂

Rogue is an ungrateful B in this show and they downgraded Gambit. X-Men 97 ruined the legacy of the original X-Men animated series.
