One likely interpretation is that the sense of duty should be the motive behind our action. Sincere effort should be made without bothering for the result. Success or failure can be taken as divine Providence.
Sawmiji, you explain things so well and make it relatively easy to understand the complexity and profundity of the sublime Vedanta. We are indebted to you.
This is an amazing concept of clearing our doubts through your explanations. I have so many questions and will soon reach you with them. Thank you so much. 🙏🙏
Thanks Swamiji. So obviously the next question is how to identify the duties and take decisions in day to day to life so that it adds to our spiritual growth? Without the above the above video will be incomplete. My humble request is please dive deep in depth and cover the entire topic as possible.
Aatmiya Guruji... Hare Krsna. NEED to Work and DESIRE for Worship are the two natural, basic, eternal Activities one and all human beings wishings to fulfill and experience Happiness. One and all of us feel, think and ACT keeping this in MIND. Acknowledging 'Work and Worship". Start saying "Work IS Worship". BUT.............................. Initiating Living Life of "WORKING as WORSHIPING". Loving you Now and Here in this Light and Moment.
Very lucid effective presentation from Swami , my sincere Namaskaras. It is said that , do karma which should be within the boundary of dharma or devote to your karma to god or do karma for the benefit of world or do karma without attachment on its fruits
Swamiji, namaste 🙏. You clearly pointed out the choice to make - fulfilment of desires or fulfillment of duty for each activity in the journey of karma yoga. But in daily life, many activities come to your plate from family or from workplace. How do you distinguish them between what's duty and what's for desire. Even duty is a desire to please someone or something related to your own vasanas. Right? How does sastras guide us to distinguish between a duty and desire. Ajnana is very powerful to delude us there. What seems to be a duty on surface is perhaps a desire in disguise and vice-versa. Kindly clear my confusion.🙏
dulam sathvik "be witn god" is dvaitam; "be god" is advaitam, moksha. It is infinitude, paramarthika. Nothing in vyavaharika can reach it. It CANNOT and NEED NOT be "attained". A darshan invorves a drik and a drishya: it is also dvaitam, not moksha.
Karma yoga maintains that if we work with the sense that whatever we do is the worship of God, our work will not cling to us; we will get liberation. Work is worship.
I have a six figure job. After gaining some measure of wakefulness I have lost all interest in it. How do we know what our duties are? I have already raised my children and my needs are very modest. Am I shirking my duty for dharma by retiring and meditating more? I feel pulled to spend time in nature, love everyone and everything, and by doing so know God better. Is this my dharma, or just another desire?
@Truth Speaker Thank you. I must admit I had to look up those words. After reading their respective definitions it would seem that I am currently in Vanaprastha (age 48 - 72, partial retirement, selling my home to live smaller and simpler, senior mentor), but I am headed toward Sannyasa at a rapid pace.
I'm a techie and I don't believe in magic but I do believe in Science & Technology because Eshwara Sarva Vidyanam, Eshwara Sarva Bhoothanam. Om Nama Shivaya!
Sir please tell me y our consciousness is fearing to leave this body and it immediately makes mind and body react to protect our body...is consciousness really afraid to leave its present body??
It can only be afraid if it doesn't know what lies on the other side. Once it knows for sure what's on the other time, it will be anticipating death because then it has realized that Life starts after death
The question was down right wrong. Bagvaan Sri Krishnaa clearly talks about अधिकार: i.e authority or right etc. Not expectations. This profound sloka has been completely twisted and massively promoted by both good and bad people. KrsihaNa says we don't have अधिकार: (Authority to determine the shape, size and timing of the result) in the फलम् (out come). That is all. Where is the question or where is the confusion. ? There is none.
the fools of this world prefer to look for sages far away. They don't believe that the wisdom of their own mind is the sage . . . the sutras say, "Mind is the teaching." But people of no understanding don't believe in their own mind or that by understanding this teaching they can become a sage. They prefer to look for distant knowledge and long for things in space, buddha-images, light, incense, and colors. They fall prey to falsehood and lose their minds to insanity.
Don't the followers of any religious tradition act out of desire, some unmet need? You put on a certain attire, walk and talk in certain ways, read sacred texts, sing sacred songs, refrain from certain activities and engage in others but there is an outcome, heaven, enlightenment, Nirvana that you are after and so you suffer. In this case we must end the desire to end desire, As long as you desire enlightenment, you can't have it but when you don't want it it is yours. As Jesus said for those that have much even more will be given while those with little, even that will be taken away. Buddha had to give up his quest before it came to him.
Worldly life Vs spiritual life? WRONG; evolving humans've Inner+worldly life experiences without conflict. When Inner Call comes @right Time to Select Few, none can resist; they'll discover their inner harmoney, from right source in right discrimination

One of the great yogi whom I met was a clerk at the local grocery store, who is focus intensely to separate the bad apples from the good ones.
The spiritual life and the worldly life are ONE and the same in reality.

If you want to be with god or attain moksha......
There are four ways....
Easiest way is chidhambara Swamy dharshanam.....
dulam sathvik "be witn god" is dvaitam; "be god" is advaitam, moksha. It is infinitude, paramarthika. Nothing in vyavaharika can reach it. It CANNOT and NEED NOT be "attained".

Hello do meditation every day and you will start believing everything that tecahed by India to the world 😂
Effort helps to advance adhikaritva. No effort is necessary or sufficient for moksha.
It's not your consciousness that's afraid its your ego that's afraid
This was a big time question. Thank you Swami❤
Work with a purpose: Not to expect results, but to cultivate them.
Hari Om,
Please sub in spanish.
Thanks

How to be spiritual in this capitalist materialistic world?
I wonder the same...
Act without Attachment to a result.
As long as you look for a Buddha somewhere else, you'll never see that your own mind is the Buddha
