Same! I decided last week I needed all the seeds. Much less scary than Ganon.

@@liamm113 You ever played Zelda 1?
@@shiggerator6816 I haven't but I've seen gameplay of it. If ur wondering y I don't think of og zelda as open world, it's bc I think of games like botw, gta, or skyrim as open world; where there's a crap ton of freedom in whatever you do. Granted, og zelda came out in '86 so open world really wasn't much of a thing bc video games were still in their pioneer days
@@liamm113 But there is a lot of freedom in Zelda 1? You can go anywhere, find items and do the dungeons in many different orders. I don't see how it's any different.
This is literally the purest form of reaction of this game. No idea what he's doing at first, but notes all the context clues and actually gets giddy when he learns something. This is good to watch, and I really want to see you play more. This game is huge, and you're probably gonna be here a while, but you'll love every second; I'm sure of it.

Yea the Sword/Shield was a little disappointing to me tbh. I thought it was gonna be something big since its on a more powerful console but its still basically the same as Sun/Moon sadly
Seeing as botw has far less enemy variants compared to some of the other zelda games and peoples reaction to dexit and the pokken roster as well as the expectations of every single pokemon available inc transformations and forms with every single move with something even as crappy as tackle being completely animated I doubt the fans would be able to handle the inevitable restrictions it'd bring

Honestly, I'd actually like to see more of this guy with this game, because it's actually kinda refreshing to see someone play who has literally no idea what's going on, not just because it's his first time playing BotW, but also because it's his first Zelda game *ever* and he literally has no context.
I like that. I makes things interesting.
I hope to see more from him. :)
Also, HOW ON EARTH DID HE PARRY A LAZER FIRST TRY WITHOUT EVEN KNOWING HE COULD DO THAT!?
*AND THEN DO IT AGAIN!?*
He knew he could do that because of twitch chat.
This guy is exactly how I was when i bought a switch. I only saw the trailer for Breath of the Wild before hand, and heard it was a great game, and it quickly became one of my favorite games despite it being the first Zelda game I've ever played.
I thought same! The first attempt. 😭😭😭
I honestly didn´t even know that works with an wooden shield. seriously, i put like, idk, 250 hours at least in that game and always was under the impression that I do need a metal shield to reflect that fricking laserbeams O.o
Damn :D
This was also the first Nintendo game I ever played. As a kid, I was never exposed to Nintendo in general, so when I finally got internet, it was weird to see a lot gaming forums talking about Nintendo or Zelda so frequently. For me it was always something obscure. However, I enjoyed my time with Botw.
“This game is incredible,” he says as he leaves the Great Plateau. Dude, you have barely even scratched the surface. You are in for such a treat! 😁
I'm not sure what has me more surprised. That the shield didn't break from one guardian blast or that he actually got that right his first time.
I legit had a surprised pickachu moment
Parrying a Guardianblast doesn't use any durability, so as long as you get the timing right everytime you can keep parrying with a pot-lid forever if you want.
THis is true
yeah how! he must have known
I was fully expecting him to get blown up
Yo, I went bug-eyed. It took me weeks to even work up the nerve to try parrying the guardian lasers.
anyone when first time encounter with guardians: fear to death
him: parried at first try
I'm surprised he figured out which button would allow it the first time, or even thought that it'd be an option without prompting. I didn't know half the shit he tried until I went to the combat tutorial shrine (yes there is one of those and it's found easily enough).
Thankfully fearing the guardians only lasts as long as you take to learn how to shield bash the lasers. They can still spook you (THAT PIANO CUE) but they rarely actually scare you once you know how to deal with them, especially since dealing with them is the same regardless of how overpowered you get or if you start the game all over again for whatever reason.
I couldn't parry until the end lol and even then it caused me anxiety 🤣
He had a twitch chat with him
@@reklem2 Twitch chat explains a lot. Still impressed that he got the timing for it the first time though.
Us ps4 and Xbox players are built different.

I really like how he took the story seriously and tried to roleplay with the dialogue options. It seems like many UA-camrs try to do whatever is funniest, but they often forget that, sometimes, someone's genuine reaction is much more entertaining.
In all my years of playing Breath of the Wild, I never knew you could hide under a barrel. You learn new stuff everyday in this game 😂
I keep seeing people talking about stuff they didn’t know of and I feel like I’m the only one who ever actually played this game. Did you all not know you could knock trees with the woodcutter axe too?
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 Yeah I knew that, and most things. I spent a year just exploring and wandering around random places all over the map, and took over a year to beat the game so it’s not like I went straight to Ganon or anything. I guess I just somehow never tried hiding under a barrel...
I accidentally hid in a giant barrel once and got a wind waker flashback
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 i have 200 hours in the game and i just knew that you can hide in barrels lmao

love the reactions on his face haha I wish more non Nintendo fans actually give Nintendo games a chance
Yeah its really entertaining to watch people try new series and love them to death honestly I'd love to watch him try out super Mario odyessy and other games I feel like a lot of people on Xbox and PlayStation and haven't ever played a Nintendo game tend to write them off as easy and for little kids and games they'd never be interested in however the darker side of the moon is a pain, botw is freaking hard, and games don't have to be difficult to be fun! And I bet if some of those types of people would give these series a chance like our friend here they'd end up loving them!
@@thatoneguyontheinternet9765 I find that one of the biggest differences between PlayStation/Xbox and Nintendo is more the intensity you feel as a casual player. The former seems to have more intense games involved; first person shooters, racing games etc, whilst Nintendo is more slow paced: slow platformers (like Mario) and Mario Party. It's important to understand that this is not a rule to how the brands work, but it is an observation I have made. I suppose this is why crossing the gap can be difficult for most players, as they may not be suited to the high or low intensity the games portray.
@@blobfishmusic6020 Well yes Nintendo does make things easier its not always for instance botw will kill you over and over and over again even when you get really good and have a bunch of fairies and Mipha's grace and decked out armor you get unlucky or get in over your head and you'll die and even if you are super careful there's still always the occasional death and super Mario odyessy may be a little slow paced at times but if your good at the movement its super fast and fun a game doesn't necessarily have to be fast paced or super hard to give reason to play sometimes its fun to just jump around as Mario doing rediculous tricks or relax on your own deserted island in animal crossing with your favorite villager I definitely see your points I'm just trying to give my own to better explain why I find it a bit strange most Xbox or PlayStation players have never decided to at least give Nintendo a shot since theres a lot of appealing titles and not everything needs to be super hard yes I like games like that too I'd gladly play some harder games I don't consider myself fully casual I am for the most part but I can do some rediculous stuff when I really try and I've tried out PlayStation a little since out of the Xbox and PlayStation the PlayStation appealed to me more and while I still prefer Nintendo I definitely enjoy some PlayStation games I just know most of what I'm looking for will make its way to switch or any other Nintendo console and PC since Sony and Microsoft port their first party games out while Nintendo doesn't main reason being Nintendo's first party titles are their consoles main selling point I just feel like a lot of people who play on these different consoles never take a small step out of their comfort zone to try a new console from a different company similar to deebeegeek here I think a lot of PlayStation and Xbox players would love Nintendo games and plenty of Nintendo fans would love playStation and Xbox games I just don't understand why so many people are hesitate to try something that they might love if it even somewhat alignes with their interests just my thoughts oh and sorry this is so freaking long I ramble a lot 😅
You really gotta admire Nintendo's "If it aint broke, don't fix it" approach to their games.
If you love the little details (like you said about Link's face in the cold), then you'll be happy to know that this game has lots of those. My favourite example is: when you open a chest from behind, Link kicks it. Usually you'll have some sort of bottom half clothing on, boots etc. so you wouldn't see it normally, but if you do this with no bottom half clothing on Link still kicks it but stubs his toe, hopping a little, holding his foot for a second. Such a cute little detail!
Same goes if you are crouched and try to open a chest from the side or behind. Llnk punches it with his bare fist and then shakes it cuz it hurts lol. Lots of details adds up to this being such a great game.
It blew my mind when I heard him hum while cooking food.
Yes! And if you have no clothes on and just idle for a minute, he does a muscle flexing pose its so cute
lmao i only saw this when i was doing eventide island
I noticed that when I tried the Trial of the Sword. Haven't finished it, but I found that funny
Breath of the Wild is literally "oh what's over there?": The Game. And it is so good, because everything is fun and the kinda reaslistic physics engine with real interactions makes exploring even more fun. I'm thrilled to see more of your gameplay!

So number one rule of this game: think logically. If you think something SHOULD work, try it. Chances are it will work.
Ex: ice blocks up waterfalls can help you climb...
Also, if something looks out of place in the world, like a high peak or a rock missing from a circle of rocks, chances are that’s purposeful....
I've never really thought about the waterfall thing other than the shrines that use that specifically omg. That's probably bc I went to Zora's domain first though so 🙃

I love the transition from the cynical 'this is what they do in open world games, the cliche of going from a small area out into the open world' to the absolutely stunned open-mouthed. 'oh my god holy SHIT. wait how big is the fokken map?!'
I didn’t see it as cynical just commenting that it’s a common trope
As a big fan of the Zelda series and this being one of my favourite games of all time, I am jealous because I wish I could play this for the first time again.
Enjoy!
my first time playing it, I played for 7 hours straight... and I'm not a gamer. It was my first non-Animal Crossing game ever. I've watched my husband play Zelda games in the past and I had no intention of playing... but he was working on the day it was released and I just thought I would give it a try expecting to play for 10 mins or so just to check it out. Maybe run around and explore a bit till I was killed. 7 hours later and I had to put the game down so my hubby could have a turn.
I love watching someone discover it all for the first time, especially when they haven't deeply analyzed all the trailers or have spoilers.
I can't wait for the next game. I'm hoping for more puzzle solving the next time around. And after finishing the Champion's Ballad in Master Mode, I think I'm ready for more of a challenge!

Yes that too. And also fire emblem and Mario Odyssey and Luigi's mansion
Xenoblade definitive would be great
My favorite part of the game is how little it TELLS you, but rather puts you in situations to learn for yourself. This gives such a joyful feeling of discovery and adventure not present in many games. Your experiment with the boulder and the Bokoblin camp (and its chest) are the first of many such moments. Watching you is the next best thing to experiencing it for the first time again

I would do just about anything to experience Breath of the Wild for the first time again.

It's incredible to me that he's doing the exact voice of the king but hasn't heard him speak yet haha
I literally thought the same thing.
YES YES YES IM SO HAPPY.
Breath of The Wild is my favorite video game experience of all time, even over Halo. The amount of exploring of both the game and myself I was able to do when immersing myself into Hyrule was incredible. Nothing has ever been able to feel so sublime.
DeeBee Please.
I play and finish this game without looking anything up.
Find out more about the world yourself.
You will not regret it.
I had a lot of fun with this game too man, I am a Zelda veteran and this is by far one of my favourites
Love this game but Twilight Princess is my favorite one
Love this game but In my eyes I’m not sure anything will ever top Persona 5
Theblazer45 - how I feel about Fire Emblem Three Houses haha
You will almost certainly never see this but I wanted you to know that I have watched this series of videos at least 3 times through. It makes me smile and thank you for helping me get through tough times.
Lol, the answer of how they can make a Zelda game like this, but not a pokemon game... it's a bit of a few answers:
One, if I were to be honest, Nintendo considers Zelda to be a bit more of their critical darling. It's like Disney putting in more money into a Pixar film because they know it will win an Oscar.
Two, Mainline Zelda games like this really come once every 5-10 years. Breath of the Wild had many years of development and multiple studios working on it. So far, Pokemon is still only being made by Game Freak (well, at least in terms of design. They have Creatures which are supposed to help them make Art resources for the Pokemon Games).
Three, The Zelda team has much more experience working on this kind of hardware. Let's Go Pikachu and Eevee was developed at the same time as Sword and Shield, so you can't say they got much experience in development from each other. So really the last game this team worked on was a 240p game for the 3DS. They got some growing pains that they need to go through like much of the rest of Nintendo... here is hoping they can get to something like this (or rather catch up as a whole) for Gen 9 or 10.
People like to say "Game Freak is lazy", but the truth is much more complicated than that. In reality, you can really only go as far as your budget and time, and as long as Pokemon is releasing new games every year, rather than buckling down and really focusing on a next generation project, they will always linger behind like this. Games need bigger budgets and more time, and maybe we might start to see games that rival the content of the older games again.
It’s also worth mentioning that programming 800+ party members isn’t easy.
@@Dragonage2ftw Its easier when you literally copypaste them from the previous games
And let's not pretend that there're hundreds of open world games out there with 400+ different creatures roaming the world. People make it seem like it'd be so easy to make a game like that, so where are they? I don't think we get individual, not-repeating NPCs in games yet, but somehow putting all the pokemon into the overworld would be easy?
@@NuiYabuko Ah... well, don't underestimate what the modding community has already done... Still, it is a lot of work, but not something more money and/or time would not fix.
@@thepokekid01 And what has the modding community done exactly? And where are those games then when it's only a matter of time and money? Do you want to tell me that no publisher would have the money necessary to make such a game if it was so easy?
Anyone else watching this series again from the start now that the TOTK playthrough is finished on Twitch? ♥️♥️♥️♥️
Welcome, my friend, to the Zelda franchise. It all started with Ocarina of Time for me, but BOTW hands down is the best game of the series so far. It's so creative, detailed and fun. It's a masterpiece.
I'm one of those wierdos that despite being born long after the first Zelda game, it was my first one. Simply because my Grandpa considers it his favorite video game of all time, and so he loved watching little me try and play, but of course I never got anywhere because I couldn't read or really comprehend what I was supposed to do aside from shank the stuff that moves. OoT is more accurately my first Zelda given I played it after gaining the basic human skills required to do more than move in direction and swing sword.
“Creative”
Where is that? I don’t see it.
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 Deciding to move the series in a new direction after the games have been more or less the same since OoT maybe? Don't get me wrong, the "Modern" Zelda Format is alright. Go from dungeon to dungeon, get new item to do more things, go to new dungeon that used new item, repeat until final boss works, but deciding to take inspiration from the original game and change the way things are is the most creative thing Zelda has had since wind waker had boat.
@@PerishingPurplePulsar Turning Zelda into better Skyrim without taking much inspiration from any previous game isn’t what I consider creative. And trust me, this plays nothing like the original. That was a bullet hell with large, complicated dungeons.
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 Have you actually played either skyrim or BOTW? Because besides being open world and fantasy based, they are nothing alike. Skyrim is a shallow experience at best without mods, and even so it has such vastly different mechanics than BOTW does. BOTW may have crappy dungeons, I'll give you that, but you are missing out on the real point of breath of the wild, it's in the name. You are meant to be exploreing this massive world(that puts skyrim to shame, and actually fills it well), while helping people and furthering link's character. And I've played the original, don't let difference in mechanics fool you, it is the base ideal of the game I'm reffering to. You are plopped into this world, with little to no guidance and told you have to defeat the evil guy. The way you go about that adventure is up to you. The dungeons can be done in any order(Although, there is a right order in the first game) and you don't have to do everything it there is in the game in one run. BOTW is the basic original concept for Zelda, just modernized. It has it's problems, but it is a beautiful game, and hating on it because it isn't the same linear story as the last how ever many games just screams toxic fan who isn't willing to accept change
"How big is the map?"
About 60% bigger than Skyrim's worldspace.
Damn really? I knew it was big but not that big.
@@realvinny6 The Great Plateau is about as big as the entirety of Ocarina of Time imgur.com/gallery/6ro0m3w
Hi Dee Bee, I'm from four months in the future and you just beat Calamity Ganon. You don't know it now, but this is about to become your favorite video game of all time.
Dee Bee Geek. The Avatar of 4 gaming platforms.
Great video Dee! A new content is here 😊
I’ve never made “rock-hard food” the entire time I’ve played this game... I didn’t know it was even a thing. Wonder what else is out there that I don’t know.
I cooked it because a friend told me about it. It is actually quite useful ngl
@@amitaish1055 especially in masters swords? 😂 it helped me a lot
I was _not_ expecting that first shield laser beam deflection. I admit, you had me. I thought _for sure_ that you were about to learn a hard lesson like a noob, and then you just badassed that Guardian to death on your first try. Nicely done!
If you appreciate the small details, look at your temperature gauge when you move between shade and sun! Literally the only game I've ever played that works as it should. Unlike Ark, which goes from -30c to +70c simply depending on what tile of the map you're on...
After completing all 120 shrines and the main story, I can say that it is by far the best game I have ever played.
did you use any amiibo or do you know something like that thag will make it more fun?, i still have 4 shrines left
Lmao not even close. It’s fun, it’s big, it looks good, but it has ZERO replay value, the voice acting is genuinely abysmal, the writing is bland, unimaginative, and boring, the characters lack any type of interesting features other than being attractive, about half the collectibles are literally pointless, it has no NG+ or post-game, late game battles are literally not worth doing since you get worse weapons, the combat is beyond easy once you learn the mechanics, the final boss is boring as hell, you can only have one save file, the shrines are repetitive as piss, the motion control shrines do not control well, weapons break too easily, the DLC was pretty lazy, boss designs are literally all the exact same, the number of enemy types is severely underwhelming...
I’m so sick of people acting like this game is better than it really is just because they had fun on a single playthrough.
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 Terribly lame arguments... Replay value doesn't translate to a game being good or bad. And who are you to tell him if it's the best game he's played or not? BotW is one of the best games ever made, like it or not.
@@DanHlrzr Except it’s not. The gameplay is fun one time. That’s not a good thing. If a game can only be enjoyed once every few years, that’s a serious problem.
On top of that, endgame, durability, stealth, stamina, dungeons, voice acting, writing, and more are terrible.
BOTW is good, but it lacks in so, SO many areas. I’m fine with people calling it their favorite game, even if I think they’re ridiculous, but it is by no means one of the best games.
Side note, you criticized a SINGLE argument I made and I ignored the rest, just saying they were bad. What does that tell me about you?
@@mr.stuffdoer8483 can't people have a opinion? who are you to tell people what they have to think about a game? it's not like your opinion isn't biased either. let people enjoy a game even if you can't.
in my eyes it's also one of the best games ever made and if people saying that triggers you, stay pressed because you'll hear it a lot. :)
Ok so I've never ever ever played a zelda game, I'm an old school pokemon dude (30 years old) im buying a Switch and this game because it has good reviews, i was about to watch this video but decided to read the comments first. @Ok Boomer Well yes, but actually no-
Did he really die protecting Zelda? I thought he just passed out, so severely wounded that he had to recover in a hundred years. Perhaps i was wrong...

i have more than 100 hours in this game and im still struggeling at this.
HOW DID HE DO IT?!??!?!

"how can Nintendo make something as big as this but can't make a Pokemon game" Nintendo is mostly a publisher, Pokemon, Metroid, Donkey Kong, Xenoblade, Kirby, Bayonetta, Smash and others are made by second or third party devlopers. The only series still made by Nintendo R&D1 I can think of are Mario, Zelda, and Fire Emblem
Fire Emblem is now made by Intelligent Systems and has been since almost the start. Core Nintendo also still makes Pikmin, Animal Crossing, Splatoon and ARMS.
Pokemon has a strict deadline to match with the release of new merchandise, anime seasons, movies, and other products made by the Pokemon Company, so the games have to release in a 2 to 3 year gap per main game, with Enhanced Versions in between or now DLC to stave of the time where Pokemon is not releasing a game, etc....
Mario Kart also, no?
@@Zelda-sr6ro Yeah but for the sake of simplicity the Mario spin-offs are not mentioned because if they were Intelligent System would be credited for Paper Mario, Alphadream for Mario and Luigi, Next Level Games for the recents Luigi's Mansion games, Camelot for the sports game, Sega for Mario & Sonic, and ND Cube for Mario Party.
@@ghirahimlefabuleux8984 Mais c'est la seule série dérivée de Mario gérée par le studio de développement principal, si je dis pas de bêtise. Digne de mention, donc 😛
45:02 King Rhoam: I believe it would be quite reckless for you to head directly to the castle at this point.
Any% speedrunners: hahahaha wind bomb go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr
"Why the hell can't they make a Pokemon game like this?"
Hitting the nail right in the coffin mate.
In truth, Gamefreak is the one with the most development of Pokemon. Zelda is pretty much all Nintendo. Gamefreak is just behind the times.
Dude he said that and I went fuuuuuuuck its so painfully correct
Game freak just doesn't care to do real innovation. They know if they add new pocket monsters their games, the fans will buy them. One of those companies I used to love, and now I see how greedy they are. Still selling TWO of the same game with different names for full price. And for the first big console release, Sword and Shield is the most lackluster Pokemon game with much to be desired. They used to get away with the lack of innovation on handheld because they were technologically limited. Now they have no excuse on Switch.
@@KillSchwill I mean, I think the real problem is the Pokemon Company themselves who don't give GameFreak the time they need on the games. The sad thing about Pokemon is yes, it's the highest grossing media franchise, but most of this is merchandise.
I bet the Pokemon Company just wants the games out as fast as possible, and this doesn't allow GameFreak to innovate.
@@platinum3497 Yeah that could absolutely be the case
Yeah i feel like Nintendo wanted a game that looked like this and game freak didnt and we ended up with something that was sorta trying for this but didnt put the time in for swsh. Like I love the look of lets go so much, i was so disappointed when swsh came out everyone else was going on about the tree but i just feel like they didnt have a concrete art style its just... nothing. Sigh
This is so cool, actually seeing a Xbox/PS fan try Nintendo out, this is quality content, keep it up !!!
I'm so happy people are still making content about this game. This is one of my if not my favorite game ever and it's just great to see people play it.
This man is ending the console wars one system at a time
Power, framerates, and portability aside, as long as you have fun playing a console, its a right choice.
"how big is the fockin map!?!" haha, great reaction, even though at that point not even 20% of the map is visible
I always love coming back to watch from the beginning of your BOTW journey since it was the reason why I started following your channel, you're always so entertaining.
2:15 link is adorable. i don’t know how anyone goes through life without acknowledging that fact
Nice to see you dabble with this kind of game, I recently uploaded solo zombie Easter eggs
Thanks Bru
Why did you feel the need to self promote?
To answer you question from near the start, it's because Game Freak doesn't give nearly enough time for their games to be developed, while Nintendo is, well, Nintendo.
