Drone Job E-mail Contacts - A Legit Contact Or Scam?

- Every week I receive emails from the contact form on AZDrone.net. Most of the inquiries are real, but occasionally....we receive a contact that just doesn't sound right. Yesterday I received a contact that seemed off, so I'm sharing it with you here today.

We received the same email a few weeks ago. It was such a bummer to realize it was a troll. I did get a location out of them. The property was less than an acre, and up for sale. We reached out to the realtor, she had no contract on the property and never heard of any named Chris.
Yeah, whoever these scammers are, I hope nobody has fallen for them. Interesting they're reusing the same name in different contacts.

I''m a property inspector and have had this scam attempted on our business many times.
It's a shame these scammers are out there. Just one more item to keep a watch on when responding to potential clients.
Hi Rich- yup, I delt with the same Chris Terrell, unfortunately.
He wanted to give an upfront payment and overpay using Quickbooks Advanced and the address he gave was land in NJ that was still for sale!!
Ended up sending him a proposal to pay, which he never did.
Ah yes, that's the same person. I hope no drone pilots fall for this. Thanks for sharing your interaction as well!

Rich, I've had at least 4 such emails or texts exactly like this. I've also been asked if I accept credit cards. My only question is what is their end goal with this? What is it they get from doing this scam? Bogus checks that we're supposed to cash and send the extra to someone? Our CC info? Thanks Rich. I always said Pass! And then its going through my head....What if its legit?🤣

The fear of "what if its legit" is there for me sometimes too. But I think these scammers still show their hand in correspondence.
