I've been watching alot of your saab 900 turbo videos! They're great! Im in the process of buying a saab 900s project car, it needs quite a bit to be done to it. You've covered quite alot of the things that need to be done to the saab im buying (which is pretty good as this is my first car). I absolutely love your vids.
You did a good job, but if you replace springs i highly recommend that you replace the rubber topmount/springseat too. Its those rubber parts that usually compress en de compose over time. But they are parts that really soften and damp some of the vibrations. But a great video on spring replacement keep it up. 👌🏻😉
There is no need to take of the shoks front and rear, but more important: You have to cut/shorten the rubber bumper inside the front spring, because it will be too long and you will have contact much earlier as you want! At the rear, it is much easier to demount the Arms at the front two bolts.
Thanks for those tips! I was not aware of the bump stops needing to be cut 🤔 also - definitely sounds like using the front bolt on the rear arm would be way easier, like you said
fender openings are always bigger in the front, for steering purposes. Better measurement would be from the rocker to the ground near the front and rear wheel wells
I have a set of lowering springs from Saabits and Spring seat bushings from AP9 all for sale here in the PNW. Hit me up if interested. Well done Jacob on this demo!
so far, I have them for the sway bar bushings and they’re great. It would be cool to do it for a lot of the other suspension pieces too! Bet it would really help handling and body roll 👍🏼😁
This is the next project for my 91 SPG. At 206k miles, they have seen better days. I’ve got Koni adjustables, so perhaps tailoring the front and rear settings with new springs will be an added twist.
I love the new stance. Are they standard or heavy duty springs? Could you post the part numbers you used? I’d like to get my Saab sitting the same way.
So lovely, bolts and nuts that are not rusted together to an unidentifiable brown blob that is a bear to separate; some guys have all the luck 😁.
I am a bit lucky that I don’t have to deal with rust 😬😂
That stance is 🔥 now
I think so too 👊🏼👍🏼
nice I have have these lowering springs on my 1989 900 convertible....very confortable!
Right on. Awesome

Thanks so much for the support. I hope I can provide some good insight on repairs/upgrades to do on these cars!
Great job and looking great! 👍🏼
Thanks james!
Great tutorial. Nice to see classic Saab900 that is not rusted/rotted like my 1985 900 🥴
😂👍🏼
AS the Saab Mechanics used to say...."One more fix to perfection"....stay focused. Saab On!!
😂😂 that phrase might bankrupt me!
Looks awesome!
Thanks Michael!

Well said! Thanks for that tip, I probably should have mentioned it in the video. Thankfully mine seemed to be in pretty good shape

I need to do this, hopefully in January, leaning towards abbott springs…
Nice 😎

Good point. Probably should’ve measured from the ground!
Looks great! There's no adjustment to the camber of the wheels needed?
There isn’t really much of any adjustment on the rears unfortunately 🥲

Thanks Robin! 🙏🏼🇸🇪
I'm really looking forward to the day you decide to install polyurethane bushings, because I've wonder what good it is.

Nice! I bet those koni’s would pair great with something like this

Thanks! The lowering springs are linked at the top of the description box and should have all of that info
Getting there..
Slowly but surely 🥲
As I remember higher front is normal. Lower rear end is stiffer and reduces understeer
Much needed!
I swear I am so close to buying a 900😂😂, already have a 9-3 aero and toyota yaris company car i don't need another car😂
One always need an old 900 :)
lol! You can always make room for another one 😉😂
🎬🎬🎬👍😁🏁🏁🏁
😁🙏🏼
I have also the Lesjöfors springs, much better stance! It is more or less impossible to pronouns for a non swede to be honest 😂
lol. But sounds like I pronounced it correctly?! 😂
You're forgiven for butchering it 😉. Great video as always.
