The constant work you put into this is just incredible, I could not imagine how tough it is to make a new video every single week, research, scripting, recording, editing, its insane! I'm also incredibly excited to see the insane amount of details in Better Call Saul, its such a fantastic show
I think this episode really serves as one of the bigger keys to help uncover the fact that hank is driven by his ego as much as walt is, and that he's no actual hero
I mean the analysis goes beyond that, the thing is career ending for him, besides destroying his extended family. It needed consideration to minimize damage but it was a bomb set to upheave their lives forever.

Even if it eventually starts making him even more aggressive towards people like Jesse
Jesus, these shout-outs are INSANE. This half of the season is just full of end credit themes that just capture the hollow and eerie feeling of season 5B. I believe the end credits reflect how Walter's disregard for Jesse will indeed be a huge part of his downfall. Walter doesn't check on Jesse, he doesn't talk about Jesse, he doesn't even seem to think about Jesse. In this episode about burying evidence, he forgot the true biggest evidence of all: his partner. This is perfect bedtime viewing for me before I get up for a big work day tomorrow :D I watched a video recently about how the psychology of Hank's denial until this point - Hank's misplay with talking to Skyler got me thinking about that and the biases he has towards his family and supposed support network
Man I feel so bad for Hank. Hank's trying his best and trying to approach it with empathy based on preconceived notions, and it's his downfall. It does tie in to the "Moby Dick" arc he's got going on, his scars, his motivation, and finally mustering together others for his forlorn trip, his own demise. Hank definitely fumbled, and fumbled, and fumbled again, but you can hardly blame him, we're all emotional creatures, and Hank's been maimed because of Walt, and had the person he loved most put under extreme threat, the fact he didn't do to Walt what he did to Jesse three seasons prior is amazing, and although he'd have certainly lost his badge for it, in a repeating offense, it would have ultimately been the right call, and he probably wouldn't see any punishment for it after an investigation exonerated Hank, a "Temporary loss of sanity" over such betrayal and harm brought upon him.
The scene where walt collapses on the floor actually resembles the way walt talked about how caring skyler was during his 51st birthday. Just that he lied back then.
Good thing that Huel and Kuby didn't go through taking Waltuh's money. But I can't help but wonder, what if? Maybe Murge Productions can answer that question. 🤭

@@betterwatchtv yes, you're right. both series start off slow. but i'd say i found season 1 of better call saul significantly slower. I know that it's set up for saul goodman's eventual downfall (i'm assuming), and set up can be interesting, but even then, i found myself having too little to grasp on. a lot of it felt vapid to me. I know this will change once I look back, but whereas with breaking bad, at least there was always action happening, despite it being low stake compared to later seasons.
It doesn’t *seem* to matter, and it’s definitely cleaner without, although having the number when it’s large seems to help! But it’s still unclear since I can’t do proper A/B tests with titles!
Walt's meth purity thing always confused me. As a chemist, I find it a little odd that Walt's purity/yield in the RV [non-sterile, high school-glassware, cruder methods, more error on equipment like heating mantles, thermometers, etc.] was practically identical [albeit the yield was scaled-down] to when he was cooking in an $8M superlab with units Gale opined would be right-at-home with Pfizer or Merck. Like, either his product should have been a little worse when in the RV, or practically ACS-grade in the slab [99.9%+]. With how jobs in industrial chemistry pay nowadays, Walt probably unironically would have had no problem finding a fresh, unscrupulous MSc or two willing to cook meth in a state-of-the-art setup [cleanroom/capital with Vamonos Pest/Declan]. That would have solved the Todd/Declan problem and made the Czech Republic very happy. Seriously great work man, you're criminally underrated.
In the Breaking Bad DVD Commentary for this episode, they talk about how the lottery ticket was indeed fake because that local lottery actually had one less number on it, but they needed to add an extra line for the coordinates of course. They talk about how they did it too IIRC

As a chemist, I find it a little odd that Walt's purity/yield in the RV [non-sterile, high school-glassware, cruder methods, more error on equipment like heating mantles, thermometers, etc.] was practically identical [albeit the yield was scaled-down] to when he was cooking in an $8M superlab with units Gale opined would be right-at-home with Pfizer or Merck. Like, either his product should have been a little worse when in the RV, or practically ACS-grade in the slab [99.9%+].
With how jobs in industrial chemistry pay nowadays, Walt probably unironically would have had no problem finding a fresh, unscrupulous MSc or two willing to cook meth in a state-of-the-art setup [cleanroom/capital with Vamonos Pest/Declan]. That would have solved the Todd/Declan problem and made the Czech Republic very happy.
