    DISCLAIMER: As some if the comments have pointed out, during editing I made the music too loud for certain sections. Audio has been a consistent spot where I still have a lot to learn and improve with. Regardless, I hope you can enjoy the video and my thoughts. (:

    Poor Howard. Between Chuck, Kim and Jimmy he’s dealing with all these psychos. The man just wanted to run his family business and keep it pushing

    Howard was never the villian but had to play one to hide Chuck's wishes from Jimmy and Kim. He just loved and respected Chuck too much and followed his lead.

      Mike has done much worse, but they still end up feeling much more slimy to me. Kim is the embodiment of “you should know better”.

      @@bugfact9279 Nothing inherently wrong with revenge but it was so petty, when Howard was trying to make things right before Jimmy started harassing him. For them it was something they could excuse but it was less about the target and more about the feeling they got from destroying his reputation, for no good reason really.

      @@fireball43 Mike did horrible shit but doing it actually for his family made it more sympathetic than Walt or Kim, who did it for pride/ego/feeling alive. Jimmy doesn't get off the hook either but he was run so much more on impulse and had been dealing with these strong inclinations towards scamming and scheming his whole life, with some very formative experiences around it. It's BS that he "couldn't help himself" but there's something to be said about understanding Jimmy this way, whereas Walt and Kim DEFINITELY knew better. While they are quite far from each other on the moral spectrum still, their worst crimes were so premeditated and planned out usually, it's the ultimate "I did it for me" for both of them and they even say similar things near the end of their series.

      Wait people had to realise that? literally as soon as they started targeting Howard I just felt kinda iffy because he was overall a good dude who had had his own struggles but worked to come out on the other side and had tried to mend fences with Jimmy.

    Good listen. Keep studied and ontop of trends in media, you will do great!
    Don't bother with the cost of a new microphone, quality goes up dramatically recording in a space with no reverb. Closets work well.

    Here’s the thing with Howard. He meant well in the grand scheme of things, however he too embodied the toxic lawyer business, here’s a few examples.
    Exiling Kim from her office Twice. The first time it was during the kettlemens, the second Jimmys commercial. The first one was wrong because all the kettlemens did was fire Kim, Kim worked hard to get that office and was on a plan to be a partner in 2 years, however upon being fired by the client He took away her office and pretty much made it a 10 year plan. Yea she would’ve eventually ended up back to where she was but to make someone like that work extra years over something like losing a client definitely is messed up.
    The second time with the commercial is alittle more understandable, but still she had no idea that Jimmy was gonna release it, and she had no time to tell Howard or anyone about it. This time her exile was for good, when she brought in Mesa verde after days of hard work to find a good client Howard doesn’t even say thanks, he just says “I’ll put someone else on it, you still have work in doc review.”
    To make matters worse when Kim went on her own with mesa verde he ended up telling Chuck which led him to try to steal the client Kim worked hard to get away from her. Her one chance to make it on her own and Howard wouldn’t give that to her.
    As much as I love Howard but the way he treated her was Cruel even though he respected her. He also never once said Sorry to her, or hell even offered her a job, he rather choose to give that to Jimmy the person who he previously viewed as a con man who would sell anyone down the road for a dime. He chose to give that person an extra chance and a sorry too.
    Could you imagine how insulting that would be to you? Someone who you dedicated years of hard work too just for them to screw you over and yet choose to reward someone else who they previously deemed as a joke?
    It’s honestly no wonder why she chose to go after him cause just like chuck to jimmy Howard is the one who let his beliefs and job push a good employee down a bad choice road.

      Thanks for this comment! Yes, I absolutely think Howard took his job way too seriously, like you said with exiling Kim and trying to swipe Mesa Verde. However, I don’t see any of that as cruelty, since he does mean well. That’s why I highlighted the fact that he waived Kim’s student debt, which was in the tens of thousands of dollars. Howard did try to give Kim a debt-free fresh start, like he talked about wanting in the same conversation, but he still has a business to run. Even if it’s a different type of greed (and it is. It is greedy), I don’t think Howard trying to retain his firm’s new, high profile client as cruel per say. As for the exiling, that’s clearly intended as a tough love “I expected more from you” kind of thing, which while the rationale is there, that is more in line with outright negativity, which is why I called attention to it more often. Still, I absolutely see where you’re coming from, even if I disagree slightly.

      @samchat21 2 місяці тому +5

      @@bugfact9279 I respectfully disagree. Even though Jesse did go through some bad shit (to say the least), the end of El Camino gives everyone hope that he starts a new, peaceful life. In addition, Jesse was still apart of the drug world from the start, so he kinda knew what he was getting himself into when he began selling. Whereas with Howard, Jimmy let him feel all the guilt for Chuck’s death (something Jimmy was mostly responsible for), was scammed by Jimmy and Kim, and then when he tries to defend himself, Lalo kills him. Howard had nothing to do with the drug world but Jesse did.
