OH MY GOSH Carolyn! I'm finally going through all my comments. It's been a busy couple of months. You just made my night!!!! Thank you ssso much 🤗😊🤗! You are too kind 😍
Great video! You did a wonderful job of simple, concise directions & hints making this project not seem as overwhelming for others to try. Beautiful works, too. Thank you!
Seriously brilliant! I cannot wait to make these, thank you! I've wanted pots like this but they're expensive and hard to find. I'm so excited! Def have a new subscriber!
Awesome!!! Yes for outdoors use a mixture of concrete and bonding liquid (instead of motchpoch in concrete.... its a milky color and for sale by 1 to 5 LITERS) binding liquid makes your tile grout and concrete safe for outdoors
These are Gorgeous Lily ! I love them! I have been trying to find the Shape Crete but havent had any luck.. Wondering if you would know of any similar product I could use?
I have been following another person who is very well educated in concrete ingredients. He makes his own mix with 5 parts fine sand, 10 parts portland cement, and 2 cups metakaolin (or calcined kaolin, which can be found at potters or ceramicist suppliers). He uses an acrylic fortifier (from the hardware store) to the liquid. It makes a mix that works like clay....
I want to try this myself, I already have the styro head, but I'm not sure that I can do a good job like what is shown here in the video. I'm thinking of musing hypertufa instead of regular cement though. I already have the ingredients for hypertufa.
I'm in Virginia and can't find this product anywhere. Our Home Depot and Lowes has apparently discontinued it and Amazon does not carry it. I went directly to the product's website and there it directs you to the same companies that don't carry it. It looks interesting but I'm confused about how to acquire it.
Fabulous idea! You're very artistic, easy to follow, great instructions! I really LOVE your way of making these ! EXCELLENT ! Many thanks I'm subscribing now !
@@amandaninow2508 please can you show to me the picture of how it looks like using sand and cement mix? I definitely want to do this. Thank you dearly.
IAn interesting effect turned out with moss) Is this material not afraid of water? I mean, if you make such a thing for your garden? How long does it freeze?
Just made this with Sculptcrete since you can't buy shapecrete anymore. It turned out awesome! It seems like it is just like shapecrete. Has anyone else used sculptcrete for this? I love it! And I love my new head planter. Thanks Lily!
Can't find shapecrete right now. I went to shapecrete website and all the sources it had listed Amazon, Home Depot, Sutherland's it was discontinued on every source.
Hmmm. There are some good ideas and suggestions that can be utilized. I'm not saying I didn't like the video. I did give a thumbs up. I was just hoping for something a little different. I wished it didn't use the styrofoam head to create the entire project. I was hoping it would somehow utilize the features then remove from the styrofoam.
Why is it people use a product in their videos, but won't tell any one where to find it? A guy asked where to buy it and the maker did not answer him. I see several people made one, did they find who sold it.? The video was awesome, can you say where you found this concrete at? I'm in ALberta
I really love this! If you have a vid of the base and removal of tube, that would be nice to see. Also, do you spray a coat of sealer for outside, or is it not necessary?
I bought two styrofoam heads a year ago as I wanted to try making these. One head came with a broken neck but the other was in one piece. I never got around to trying it as the facial features look really difficult! I’m no artist! Also, I live in Europe & I’ve never heard of the product you used. It seems amazing so I’ll have to ask around. Your heads turned out amazing! Thanks so much for a great tutorial. 🥰🥰
I totally adore these! Thank you so much. Sorry, there was something I didnt quite get ....what you are saying is that it is just the fake moss that is not waterproof? The actual head pots themselves without the fake moss are waterproof and okay to leave in the garden?
I think it just depends on what you attach the moss with. The regular mod podge gets washed off with the rain but yes the heads are water proof it’s no different then regular concrete. You can maybe try mod podge made for outdoors if you want permanent moss. Glad you liked them 🥰
OH NO! They discontinued shapcrete. I think a mixture of concrete with fiberglass fibers would work very similar as long as the concrete doesn't dry too fast and has a fine texture without rocks. Hope this helps :)
i skipped the concrete and used concrete textured spray paint and a little clay as mine is only home to fake plants so i didn't need it to be too durable
Step one: have some raw artistic talent.
In all seriousness, these are absolutely gorgeous!!!
😁😂 thank you
I knew I could not be the only one who felt that.
@@deemaverick987 I was ok I can do that then she started doing the face and I was like nope. 🤣
Great video! After putting on the gloves, use a ponytail holder or rubber band to hold the cuffs of the gloves up around your wrist.
Thank you Sheri! :) Love your tip. Will definitely use it for my next project 😊👏
You are a genius. Seriously, your DIYs are head and shoulders above everything else out there. Well done ❤️

I've heard portland cement works good :)
Portland cement, perlite and peat moss equal parts.
The plant-hair looks amazing! This was so well done. Moss is a great touch too. Love this.

Does the styrofoam head stay in the planter once finished? Please respond ASAP
Yes it does :)
Absolutely awesome and you're a very good teacher! Thanks for this video.
It is now 2022!!!! How are they holding up?????? Did you make some that stayed in the yard? If so, how are they holding up to the elements?????

Young lady you did an AHHHH-MAZING job! Thanks for sharing

Can this be colored/stained with concrete dye pigment?
Yes totally! I would just add it to the concrete mix :D
You are so good at sculpting the face! I hope I’ll be able to make mine look that good🤞🏻 Thanks for the great idea😁
Stunning, very well done! I can't find Shapecrete in my area. I am going to try making it using 1/2 sand to cement and water.
Thank you Amanda🤗 Oh no I'm sorry to hear that. Let me know how the cement sand works? That'd be so cool if it worked too🤔.
Did it work? Since I cant find any shapecrete here as well
@@ingehooghiemstra4856 use 3/4 cement to 1/4 sand. Mix together and then add water. Looks fine, not broken or cracked :)
