@@darrylmusic7839 glad to hear it! Thanks Darryl 👍
If I don’t have a current lesson from you, I get confused and lost. I come to learn and you are the best teacher.
Well, I need to stay consistent every week with a new lesson! Thanks so much for your continued support! Enjoy your weekend Cathy ❤️
Once again, brilliance! This " trick" is used often by Mike Campbell with Tom petty and Pete Anderson with Dwight Yoakam!
You’re right, Mike! Those are great players, and they all use those little major moves. Good to hear from you. Thanks.👍
I agree that the major scale is often overlooked ~ always nice to hear music with a positive vibe to it ~ hope you & your family had a great Thanksgiving!
Thanks so much Karen! I hope you had a great Thanksgiving weekend also! Talk to you soon Karen ❤️
Been doing this in my practice but it's been by ear so not sure I have it right so thanks again rusty...👍
Thanks WJ! If it sounds good, you have it right! Catch you later👍
Thanks Rusty! Always a pleasure
You’re welcome Monty! Thanks a lot for checking in👍
Another great lesson. Thank you for showing the chords over the lead.
Thanks Sal! Yes, I need to start showing the chords as I’m improvising over a backing track. It helps us connect. Later bud. 😎
Great lesson. Best UA-cam teacher!!!
Nice! Maybe not the best but I really do appreciate your comment! Thanks so much my Guitar buddy🎸😎
You're so right Rusty....I overlook the major scale all the time, even though I know that it is the root of all music. I will start to address that from right now!! My playing this year hasn't got to the heights of the goal I set when we spoke in January, but it has most certainly progressed to a quite impressive (to me) level, especially where improvising and finding the chord tones is concerned. I've changed to a busier job this year, but I still put in about an hour per day to practice....it's like medicine to me!! Thanks so much for your lessons....you have made a difference to my playing, no doubt about that. I'll be in touch again before Christmas, but for now....play it loud!!
It’s really good to hear from you, my Guitar buddy! This comment really keeps me excited about what I do here on my channel! It sounds like you’re working on the right things. The older I get the more fun I have on the guitar and it sounds like you’re having fun also. Yes, play it loud and keep rockin! Catch you later and have a great weekend 👌
I Do Agree With You !. So Powerful This Very Special Scale And Overlooked By Many. Very Special Good Lesson. Thanks/Gracias. Later.
You’re welcome Kal! I appreciate your support to the channel. Have a great weekend.👍
Thanks as always for another useful lesson.
I’m glad the lesson was useful! Thanks a lot for watching👍
Once again thank you.
My playing has gone from 50 year beginner to being able to play intermediate ish in a few months. This lesson is golden I figure, if it has even 1/2 of the impact of your other lessons on my playing.
Thanks Rusty
You’re welcome Harold! I’m really glad you’re getting some new ideas from the lessons! Have a great weekend and thanks for watching👍
Thank you so much for all your lessons. 😊
You’re very welcome! Thanks a lot for all your support👍
Us old guys??!! Hey...........I resemble that remark, Rusty!! Always great to be reminded how to follow these great guitar pathways and map!! Hope your Thanksgiving was great! Jim C.
I know you resemble that remark😂 Another connection on the fretboard is always good! We had a great Thanksgiving with our family and I hope you did also! Thanks, Jim👍
Great as always Rusty. Great Player 80%, Great guitar 10%, Great amp 10% + extras, pedals, knowledge, inspiration, vibes etc., another 100%. Thanks
I like the way you put things PG! This is a great comment! Thanks so much. Talk to you soon.👍
Great lesson, Rusty. The major scale is truly underrated even though the common scales guitarists use are all related to it. Once you internalise the major scale, tackling Modes and using various scales when improvising, is a walk in the park.
Well, said Tito! The major scale can really elevate your theory and playing! A lot of players, including me bypassed this early on. Thanks for checking in.👍
Many thanks and have a nice weekend 🎉
You’re very welcome Gert! Have a great weekend also! Thanks 👍
I'm very happy you Love the guitar, and Love what you're doing here! Because - We Love It, Too! Keep Up the Great Work!
I’m happy that you like the channel Dave! More to come! Enjoy your weekend👍
Rusty, you are making my head hurt in a good way, puzzle pieces are coming together. Its like driving at night with no headlights and now I have at least some running lights to see with, next stop low beams! Up and onward. I really appreciate the lessons, and you playing and tone are inspirational. Thanks
Well, said Stewart! Sounds like you’re moving forward! Let’s keep working on this stuff together! Talk to you soon👍
This is so helpful, Rusty! Even I can do this. Thanks.❤️
I know you got this Kim! Thanks for watching❤️
Great lesson on one string soloing. I've been experimenting with the harmonic Am with the Smooth backing track.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us. Just love the way you teach! Cheers from Two Mountains, Quebec, Canada.🤘🎸🎵🎼
Greetings from Chicago! Thanks a lot for checking out the lesson Michael! I’m glad you like the lessons buddy👌
These lessons are easy for me to understand Im a 50 year beginner these lessons are dragging me out of the rut.
Thanks Gary! I’m glad to hear it! I appreciate the comment!👍
Insightful and practical. Great ideas, playing, and tone too. I will definitely be exploring and using this!
Thank you Alfred! I hope you have fun with it! I appreciate you leaving a comment. 👍
Great lesson Rusty .... I find playing the Major scale on one string also improves my understanding of which notes can be bent for the best results.
That’s right Phil! This will definitely improve your confidence in bending! Thanks a lot for checking out the video and leaving a comment👍
Thanks for the video and lesson. Killer strat BTW, sounds responsive. Hope you are having a great Thanksgiving weekend 😊
You’re welcome, Ron. Oh yeah, I love that Guitar! My weekend is going great and I hope you have an awesome weekend also. Thanks man.👌
Hi Rusty, this is a valuable lesson. I never thought of this and I never tried it either. I guess that this is more melodic than just trying to make a scale sound like music. The sound on that strat though really hits the ball out of the ballpark. It would probably also be interesting of you made a video about your sound. Thanks for this lesson and have a good weekend!
Yes, this is a fun and melodic way to improvise. And also I do need to make a Guitar tone video. Tips, etc.. Thanks and have a great weekend also William👍
Awesome
Thanks for watching Richard! I appreciate it👍
I think I heard a riff by the Guess who . No. Time “
There’s definitely some of that influence! I love me some Randy Bachman Guitar! Thanks, Doug👍
Great lesson here Rusty, giving easy ways to run over the fretboard and create melodic solos, thanks buddy!
Right on Rafa! Thanks so much! Have a great weekend 👍

Good lesson Rusty!!!! I like the new intro too!!!!!
Thanks man! I’m glad you like the new intro! I appreciate the feedback buddy! 👍
Thanks, nice easy lessons with great breakdown.
You’re welcome JW! I have been trying to slow down and call out the Frets more consistently. I really appreciate the feedback. Thanks John.👌
ah yes the famous major scale , same notes on a single string , octaves .. well connecting all these things as you've showed will result in a beautiful solo.
Simple but effective! Thanks John and enjoy your Sunday 🙏
Gotta say, Rusty... You're a talented guy!
You're a heck of a rockin' guitar player, and you come up with good teaching ideas to inspire people.

@@kimzwart-pn6dm Thanks! ☺️ 🙏 🤗
Does the major scale work well for improvising in a blues context, or should you use a minor scale?
The major scale does not work well over a blues progression because of the dominant 7th chords. For me, I would use the major or minor pentatonic scale. But the major scale works very well if the chords are in the same key. Thanks a lot for checking out the video.👍
I'm an old guy, while I like your tutorials, the one thing that turns me off in these tutorials is the use of effect pedals, it would have sounded 100 percent better clean ,it just distracts.
Thanks for the feedback! I appreciate it and enjoy your weekend👍
Really buddy?
