  • We recently learned of China Camp State Park in San Rafael, California! I thought, this is a bucket list place!
    It did not disappoint! We recently visited China Camp State Park and found that the park has a lot to offer. There are a number of walking and mountain biking trails, but we don't hike! We prefer to set up a day camp, grab our cocktails and listen to our music. We were able to do so at China Camp State Park.
    We filmed from the picnic area first, a picnic area that has tremendous vistas! You can see the whole San Pablo Bay!
    Then we drove down to the China Camp Village. There is a ton of history to learn. Next to the village, is a long, calm, and very pebbly beach, perfect for Patti's beach combing! The waters were calm and the sun was out.
    WARNING: If you want to wade into the water, wear water shoes! There are a number of broken oyster shells that are very sharp!
    Do yourself a favor and make a day trip to China Camp State Park in San Rafael!

    You went all out editing this one with the tremendous transition effects. Interesting history. Peaked my interest on the beach combing sea glass. Put that place on my bucket map. Thanks

      Thanks, Mike! A wonderful find, for sure! Appreciate you noticing my transitions. Motion Array! I use a transition once, then delete it from Final Cut Pro, and get another one. One monthly fee and you get TONS of transitions, overlays, LUTS, intro's etc.....

    Cool! I’ve never heard of this place, looks really sweet. Love that you gave a shoutout to the non-profit, and LOVE your umbrella, too! 🌈 Combing for beach glass sounds fun. Really cool little spot, guys!

      Hey! We appreciate you watching! Yeah, was really a nice find and we will be back! The folks with the non-profit were out there cleaning up and taking care of the place. China Camp is their baby, for sure! Cheers! 🥤

    Yes, I can see that lounging at the beach would have been problematic LOL> Great vid.

      Yuck, right?? Well, the beach next to the village was perfect! We were there on a Monday too, so, fewer people.

    It's sad funding is down at so many state parks all over the country. This one looks great, really appreciate you guys giving all the facts and history, we always want to do more of that but it gets forgotten. We will have to find you guys one day when we can get out to Cali. That dang alcohol gets in the way sometimes lol

    Nice! We’ll have to stop there on our coastal trip in September. Might be a nice spot to camp after coming down from Fort Bragg heading south.

      Hey Eddie (and Hope). Yeah, we can't speak for the camping, obviously, but it's worth checking out. Like we mention, a gold mine for beach combing. To the right of the village.....

    I took my kayak to the small island at 3:19 also on the other side I found a cave near that island to the left side of the dock. Pretty sketch, I would explore it, but I’ll need my handgun and a flashlight in case.

    They should really set up a Chinese seafood restaurant in the park to get more visitors.

    Okay, now I've got to know. What does Patti do with all those sea glass finds?

    • @SippyCupAdventures
      @SippyCupAdventures  Рік тому +2

      She has them in jars, some displayed, some not. They are our kid's inheritance 🤣

      @dianeschmiane Рік тому +1

      @@SippyCupAdventures I think you should do an artsy 100 things to make with seaglass video... that would be fun, and then maybe the kids would be more excited about their inheritance, LOL!
