I posted a creation that holds essential oils in resincrete to a few Facebook groups a few days ago. It’s a moon candle holder with resincrete on the top and bottom, resin in the middle layer. It turned out beautiful and works wonderfully holding onto the essential oils.
Wow what a brilliant idea!! I love that they are rechargable too. Just ordered my first resin creat so I'm looking forward to creating some of these... Stay safe, you do you, protect yourself and stay crafty 👍👍🛎️🔔🦋🦋
This was an excellent idea I didn’t think you could do that with this material resin Crete. I need to try this. I love learning from my creative family across waters😊
I used to have a few of these plaster style air fresheners which had magnets on the back so you could have them on your radiators and the heat would help dissipate the scent. (Feel free to use this idea 😉)
Steve you answered my question, would it hold essential oils for a period of time❤ Thanks so much for sharing with us, I greatly appreciate your experiments and creativity!!
I'm from Australia and here we have Ecrylimer (like resin crete) and they actually sell molds for air fresheners to do this :) They have instructions aswell on how, and you add 2% fragrance into your mix, and then pour. It doesnt effect the cure at all, and they smell amazing for a long time! I have the ones I made in my car :)
What a fantastic idea 💡 !!! I will definitely be making this !! To that person that said you were copying an idea is so disrespectful !! Creative people & groups are for sharing ideas & everyone puts their own spin on things. They need to step back as someone said & ask themselves what are they doing when they make something that has been shown on any of these channels !!
What an absolutely fantastic idea Steve. I truly hope you sell loads and I will definitely be making some for myself to put in the car the bathroom the bedroom my craft room you know the idea LOL
I love using stamps in resin and eco, it may have been you who gave me the idea I can't remember lol and your pieces have all come out great, I really want that dog mould now
Aww love this! I used to do this with air dry clay and my mum still does ❤ I think I’m definitely going to have to try with my resinCrete thanks Steve!
I sold a lot of small pine trees before last Xmas and used into the tree’s oil as my demo. If you have an artificial tree you can place it near by and it smells of pine.
Okay, now I watched the whole video 😂 This is such a wonderful idea, I really love how much customisation and flexibility you have with this! Making an airfreshner for someone, absolutely bespoke for them; their favourite smell and colours with a mould that they would like too. Absolutely fantastic idea, I love it! Steve, please can you let us know when your TeeExpert kit will be back in stock on Amazon, I've followed the link on all of your recent uploads and haven't managed to see it in stock! Your kit is very popular, my dude! 💜 Hope you are well, thanks for another fantastic upload! ✨🍀😊
Steve have you thought of using the water soluble oils? Allow for more uses than essential oils and could be added to the water before adding to the resincrete. 😊
You need a warning to keep away from birds as well. Now i have to get some resincrete. I make soap... so i have fragrance oils a plenty. Every once in the while i order from a wholesale store online... so i can get legit essential and fragrance oils. You are right about fragrance oils damaging surfaces. I have premeasured fragrance and been meking a batch of soap.. had it eat right through the plastic cup. Messed up my table surface a bit as well.
Next time use the depressions created by your silicone stickers pour the essential oil in the depression And then cover with resin in a pc of plastic that way you've got sealed essential oil in there forever
Brilliant idea and they look great. I notice you said you put your casting powder pieces in your curing machine, I don’t have one, so will they be alright on a curing mat? Love your videos.
Great idea as always - I have just started experimenting with resincrete so will certainly try this out. Please could you remind me what’s best to seal items with to safely use as mini planters. Many thanks xx
You don need a curing machine at all! A low temp oven (~ 200-250° F). It's just a way to quickly dehydrate (and "set") the Resin Crete, so that it absorbs as much EO as possible.
I've been wanting to try less for like 6-7 months... but I thought of mixing thr FO I ro the resin create .. but I don't wanna waste either product especially the expensive FO.. lol
Hello Steve. I’m hoping you can help me out. I’ve been using ResinCrete for about 9 months and I love it, but recently there appears to be something off with the bags I’ve received. I mostly use the regular 8 minute work time/30 minute demold variety. I had two bags delivered last month that have a zero minute work time, the mixture gets super thick right away (as if I’ve added maybe 3/4 of the water needed). Even adding more water and stirring vigorously doesn’t make it liquid. I have to “pour” is so quickly I can do little with it. I contacted the company and they sent me two new bags that are exactly the same. Have you ever run into this problem?
I never thought of oils in the resincrete! I've been seeing these ads on youtube where you take a block of wood that costs $30 and stick it in your car and you get 60 days of scent. But you could be fancy and buy the stone instead of the wood and it was like $50 I think? Here, you just made them for practically nothing (a whole bag of resincrete in my area is only $30) and once you make them, the only cost is reoiling them every few months. I think I am about to slowly drive my husband crazy, because I personally love patchouli and he thinks it stinks. But I'm going to hide these around the house
I don't know if you'll read this message or not but I do have a question. I just recently found you and your videos (and have been enjoying them immensely) and noticed that you use this resincrete a lot. Do you have a preference as to resin or resincrete?
I really like both to be honest. There are a lot of things I like to make with resin and lots of techniques you can do with resin. The ResinCrete makes great items to sell as paint your own kits etc. it also makes great bowls.
@ OH! Like we see in those little kits from the Dollar Tree? Oh my air, you’re in the UK so I don’t know if you have that chain. LOL Thank you for taking the time to answer. Many do not. It’s just about how much can be made with the algorithms. Not you. You seem to genuinely love to teach. And I thank you again for that. One day I’ll get the nerve to try the epoxy resin. I don’t think I’ve seen resincrete but then again, I wasn’t looking as I hadn’t heard about it. Now I’ll look. Have a wonderful holiday season if I don’t get a chance to say so closer to Christmas!
Just stumbled across your videos - and this one is exactly what I just tried to do! This week I soaked some resincrete pendant pieces in fragrance oils (used in candle making). My thought is to make car air fresheners, but wasn’t sure if the scent would last or for how long. Thank you for having a video for this! Do you have any followup for tips or experience with how well (or not) this works?
I actually have 😢 question about what to use to seel a photograph to a stained wooden box. I'm using it for my fiancees ashes as he passed away 2 months ago.
@jenniferorange457 I am so sorry for your loss! 😥💔 Personally, I would use a few thin coats of Mod Podge. Just follow directions on the bottle, then look up "sealing photos" with Mod Podge, here on UA-cam.

@MyLast2Braincells84 It's okay! Creative minds often think of the same things! 😊 I believe @Claire'sCraftyCorners has been using silicone stamps in and on a lot of her projects; both in resin and in casting compounds, for a good 2 or 3 years: others, even longer. It's a great idea!
These things come round time and again, I've thought of various techniques over the years only to discover I wasn't the first. Equally I've seen rather direct copies of things I've made. I freely share tips and techniques and those I'm absolutely relaxed about these days. But I get you, it's a bit galling when you find you weren't the first to think of a really great idea. But that's often what makes it such a great concept when more than one creative comes to the same idea.
January, 2025. Inspired by this video. I have made up some wax burners in resin crete. I gave them as gifts with a package of was squares, So I am thinking finding some small molds, that will sit in the metal basin of the wax burner. Then make some small shapes with resin crete and add the scented oils just like this. Then one can put a tea light in it and hopefully warm up the oil, and then one can switch out various oils, and when they evaporate they will need another resin crete oil piece. I will report back on our FB page.
Is there anything special you need in buying baby wipes for cleaning? I hesitate because I thought they had aloe or lotion etc? I've been looking for alcohol wipes that are just alcohol but haven't found any.
Many medical wipes are alcohol (but check as some have chlorhexadine in too - ex medic here). Generally these are very small though. Like swab sized. I do use them though and they're really useful. I also spray isopropyl onto little swabs to use. Or dip cotton buds into isopropyl. I think Steve has mentioned some awesome big wipes he uses (from Amazon I think?)
@ixykix Thank you. All the youtubers say Baby Wipe but no one explains which one. I do have the Big Wipes that he recommends but they go dry on me quite quickly and leave a film I don't particularly like. So wanna try a baby wipe. I've looked at so many and a true baby wipe I'm not sure I'd use, at least in USA. So I'd like clarification if it matters what kind to use. Thanks for the response.
