My ex, a boat person who climbed out of poverty, didn't really share much about the projects and about that period in his life. That's why your story is so powerful. It shows there's no one-size-fits-all Asian American experience. You didn't have the easiest path, and it takes courage to share that. I'm sorry you didn't get the support you needed back then.
