The 72 seasons are the first 18 years of your life. It's how your upbringing can mess up your entire life. James Hetfields parents split and his mum died of cancer. She didn't believe in medicine or blood transfusions etc. He's talked about it in lots of songs ie The God That Failed and Dyers Eve
All of the guys are on the verge of turning 60 and they have been together since 1981. This album just came out and it’s looking back on their lives. They figured when you turned 18 your basic character was established and there were 72 seasons in your life by the time you were 18. Metallica is amazing !
James is talking about how our formative years can create either true or a false self that you end up either confirming or needing to change or deny. It also feels like bringing out into the open that that time can lead to darkness and depression etc. James has made it somewhat clear that he struggles from time to time with his own internal demons and that we all need to recognize that and be open to asking for and needing help. Love that you are exploring lots of things. Especially love your videos reacting to George Carlin.
In several interviews, James has stated that the first 72 seasons of one's life. Are the "building blocks" of the person you will become, or is it? Here is one quote from an interview he did, that I REALLY like. "There's a lot of psychology in this, and I can overthink all of it. But at the end of the day, is it these 72 seasons that form your true or false identity? Am I able to change or not? That's a lifelong question." And I think/believe that this sums up the 72 seasons album quite well. Enjoyed your reaction, love your willingness to explore ALL kinds of music. Keep up the GREAT work! 🤘🤘🤘
FINALLY YOU REACTED TO METALLICA 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽 you are one of my favorite reactors and i’ve watched numerous reactions in your channel. You’ve reacted to my favorite comedians George Carlin and Bill Burr ( i also recommend Bill Hicks) and many of great bands and you finally reacted to the greatest band ever!!! so lease go down the Metallica rabbit hole it’s worth it. Pull out the lyrics always, react to their live performances as well please because the energy is epic and ask all the questions you want because we, the metal community will be more than happy to reply and explain 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽 Metallica lyrics are deep music is out of this world
You're certainly NOT an idiot. It took me 4 times hearing this song to figure out he was yelling Wrath of Man. But at least I didn't pause during the guitar solo.....(twice). That's bad juju leads to be curses and hexes. I believe 72 seasons (or 18 years equivalence) is about our formative years. Who we are or become is mostly determined by those first 18 years.
This is a album you should listen to several times, as it will grow on you. I like it much better now, then at first listens, I tryed to rate the songs from the album, even its hard, my mood of the day could make a slightly diffrent list, but i think it looks decent, i listened to all songs at least 20 times each. 1. Lux æterna 9/10 2. Shadows follow 9/10 3. If darkness had a son 9/10 4. Chasing light 9/10 5. 72 seasons 9/10 6. Room of mirrors 9/10 7. Inamotata 8/10 8. To far gone? 8/10 9. Screaming suicide 7/10 10.Crown of barbed wire 7/10 11.You must burn 7/10 12.Sleepwalk my life away 6/10 Those rankings on songs gives a album rank 8,08/10 I do think a balad would have suited this album, but its not making the album weak that it isnt there, you kind of get to accept the sound of the songs, , and epreciate them as they are, after some listens..
Don’t feel bad about getting the lyrics wrong. We’ve all gotten them wrong at some point. I was at night one of Metallica on 8/30 at lumen field where our Seattle Seahawks play and after opening with creeping death they played this song. Needless to say myself and 64,499 other Metallica fans lost our minds. Was phenomenal
You're not an idiot, lyrics can be difficult to decipher especially if you're not accustomed to them. When I was a kid, I couldn't just look up lyrics, I would literally keep rewinding my cassette, press play, press pause, write down what I thought was said and so on and so on. Years later, with the advent of the internet, wow, I was way off on some of it LOL 😂
i was around 11 or 12 when the kiss song "beth" came out. i didn't have the album, so i could only occasionally hear it on the radio. i thought he was saying "death" because it sounded like a guy bargaining with the grim reaper not to take him away. if you substitute death in the lyrics, it still makes sense that way. i later learned he was saying beth.
Ah, you've opened the door just a bit to the world of heavy metal. May I now suggest Black Sabbath as follows: Paranoid, Iron Man, War Pigs. Ozzy Osbourne: Crazy Train. Deep Purple: Smoke On The Water. Try them out if you like
This is no can of paint 😅 Seriously tho, Metallica will almost always have deep lyrics that make you reflect on your own life. Keep in mind, this is brand new music that just dropped last Friday after a long career of making iconic metal music since the early 80s.
Britt, you're right. In these days of CDs an intro takes as long as a whole song did in the days of 45 rpm singles. If you have the patience listen to Iron Maiden's latest album where the final three songs clock up to about 30 minutes, which is as long as some of the greatest albums of all time (ie "Revolver" by Beatles and "Reign In Blood" by Slayer) - please don't react to these songs, though! I love Maiden and these three songs are not their greatest half hour!

wow I didn't know that

The first 18y of your life. It´s a great album with great lyrics.

@@brittreacts -- The first 72 seasons of your life. That is 18 years. That is the meaning of the title, I believe.

The 1991 Moscow performance of Enter Sandman is a video to watch to understand how big Metallica actually was.

It’s about the first 18 years of your life and how it molds you into the person you become.
very interesting, thanks!
"math is not my ministry." Brilliant. I'm gonna use that.

I REALLY would love to hear your reaction for "Inamorata" from the same album.
I will keep it in mind, thanks!

Four seasons in a year times eighteen years of your upbringing equals 72 seasons.

Room of Mirrors from the new album 🔥🔥🔥🤘🤘🤘….Music video
I will keep it in mind, thanks!
I spent $1500 for 3 tickets to their upcoming tour. Spent $50 for tickets in 1991. Lol times have changed 🤣🤣🤘🤘🎸🥁
wow! times have changed for sure!
React to Inamorata in the same album!!! Great song!! A love song to Misery

Love from Australia, I love your reaction 10/10 as a Metallica fan. If it was crap I would let you know. Take care 💕
Been a metallica fan for 30+years and have no clue what this song means

Why I didn’t play 072 for a week straight is beyond me❤
It's about James first 18 years of his life.

How have you not reacted to the band Tool yet? If ever you do. You must have the lyrics in front of yourself 😊
They have lots of long intros on this album This song Screaming Suicide and Lux Eterna are the best 3 songs on the album IMO
You are on the right track, Metallica songs are very open to your own thinking and can change meanings over time.
some killer stuff enjoy
thank you!
Wrath of Man🎉
This is no can of paint 😅 Seriously tho, Metallica will almost always have deep lyrics that make you reflect on your own life.

if you play this song on guitar, the intro not long, its like few sec
First 18 years mold you.
Maybe Metallica could cover: Red Solo Cup

Great reaction… but attention Metallica fans - I think she needs to react to more new stuff. Maybe Too Far Gone next.
I will keep it i n mind , thanks!
@Britt I want to nominate someone to the #PantyDropperClub. React to Skid Rows "I Remember You". (You wont be disappointed. I promise.)
I will keep it in mind, thanks!
Gotta do more songs on the album there are much better ones . Too far gone . Room of mirrors etc
I will keep it in mind, thanks!
