I have never known another that I felt like a twin that had identical thoughts, experiences, artistic expressions and just this past week decided to take swimming lessons at age 66. I started taking photos at age 60, I was the oldest in my classes, I have so much I want to see and do with my camera, I have a dream to just walk around in silence , me and my camera and take interesting images of people. This was inspiring, thank you Sean for sharing her, I have been a fan from a distance of your beautiful work. God bless, keep sharing, keep encouraging us that aspire to take interesting, thought provoking images. 📸

I didn't know people were complaining about leaving images to the end. Personally I love it, and I agree with your reasoning. I think it helps a ton to be able to just take in the photos without trying to multitask (and failing).

You had me at Creative Introvert. Hello my people. I'm quietly excited just knowing there's a whole bunch of us in the world who are these kinds of people. Thank you so much Sean for sharing Margaret's story - Margaret, I absolutely love your work and the feeling that jumps out from the image and paintings and pulls me in close and quietly surrounds my soul. Love it.

This deeply resonated with me. Margaret's quiet strength and strong sense of identity is the goal of all introverts. Beautifully shot and presented. I initially didn't like the images at the end from another video but have since come around to seeing why you do it this way. It allows the viewer to be fully immersed in each aspect: first the words, then the images. Excellent work, Sean.

Thank you Sean for bringing us this wonderful interview with Margaret. I love her way of being and of creating. Thank you also for your comments supporting women photographers. It can be a very male oriented space at tines, especially on UA-cam, so it's nice to see you bring Margaret's work to your audience.

Thank you Margaret and Sean, that was one if not the most inspirational video I have ever watched that put all of me as a jigsaw puzzle into place. I have an continue to suffer from severe depression and a mental break down and have just lost my job of 22 years as a nurse because of it. But it find growth and moments of calm and clarity though channeling my grief, my mood and my emotional state into my photography, how I edit and how I then describe my images. This video has helped me start to make sense of what it is I am doing and perhaps why. Thank you so very much.

It was as if i was almost watching a video of my life, as an introvert myself it’s so comforting to hear the stories of others. That place of comfort in her childhood is something I also carry with me but for me it’s the mountains in North Wales and specifically two locations which i still hold very dear and bring great joy and calm to my life. As always the way in which you’ve shot and edited this film is stunning.

I’m currently in a toxic relationship where I’m often being gaslighted, misunderstood and “punished” for my deeply introverted, emotional personality. This story gives me hope that I, too, will come out on the other side - self-aware, confident, and proud of who I am. That I, too, will be able to build a life that I’m in love with, a life where I’m solo by choice and that allows me be utterly and unapologetically me. Thank you, Sean, for this video.

What a great interview and lovely artists, thank you for sharing. It also took me 35 or 40 years to understand myself after reading Susan Cains book. This has been a sort of life saver because it stopped me from thinking that I am wrong. Just like Margaret mentions. I also learnt to fell proud of my strenghts and my depth. Unfortunately most of the schools / universities / employers do not realise the difference and fail to support wonderful people who are less loud than others. I wish that more people would make sure that they live the life they want for themself and not to the expectation of others. The photos look beautiful, thank you for the presentation. I also love watching the water, but where I live, there is not much movement in it, unfortunately.

To me photography is something that will appeal to an introvert as we use the camera to express our thoughts and feelings through the art we create. The biggest problem I have as an introvert is people who think I have to share my work on (un)social media to be successful; my comment is I don't want to hear from arrogant idiots who don't know what I'm about because of artistic or technical choices I made (brand of camera/model etc.).

Brilliant. Actually, being introvert really doesn't mean that you're shy; or that you don't want to be around people; that's so true. When the world stops talking, you can hear the spirit whispering to you. That's eternal truth rather than finite noise. The introvert looks within. Its the only way to eternal life. The noise of the world is mere distraction.

No self-promoting, big-noting or hyperbole, just great content and advice, presented calmly, spoken clearly… and (thank goodness) without the now-almost-standard “like”, “like”, “like” inserted between every second word that we must endure from so many other content creators.

Margaret's story is not only a great story for introverts but for anyone. I can completely relate to Margaret's ways of feeling, thinking, and being. It is refreshing to talk about mental health and the importance and power of photography and any kind of art as a way to permit yourself to self-liberate from social conventions and the weight of responsibility that we have to hold.
    Cheers!

Sean, Great Video. Lovely to hear her speak. I have read Quiet. Its a brilliant book, and helped me understand a lot about myself. I will probably read it again some day as there are likely more layers to peel back and understand. I think we (humankind) exsit along multiple continuums. Our personalities are complex and we all lie somewhere between Extrovert and Introvert. Maybe a little space and quiet in all our lives would benefit society.

Wonderful work, both with the camera and the brush. I too miss the water living up in Cusco, grew up at the sea, maybe time for a move...not a fan of the word introvert, it is a small-sounding word whereas what should becdescribed is the heightened power within which becomes the focus rather than needing power from others, internal force rather than external, so-called introverts are actually stronger from their own source and more resilient and independent spiritually. It is just a matter of recognising this and finding expression through processes like photography.

  • @tbostrowski6136
    @tbostrowski6136 Рік тому

I enjoyed that one Sean. For some reason Margaret reminded me of film I watched as a young boy. The Incredible Mr.Limpet. Don Knots plays a bookish introverted man with a fascination of the sea and the all the creatures that live within it. Its part film and part animation and while Mr Limpet is on dry land its film, but when he leans forward looking into the sea and falls into it becomes an animation with Mr Limpet becoming transformed into a fish, a fish with spectacles.😮he befriends the sea life and somehow becomes a hero before landing himself back on dry land at which point the animation becomes film once again. Perhaps its the comfort that Margaret draws from the sea that triggered this long forgotten memory of a film, I watched as youth but like life that lives deep within the sea so did this boyhood memory live deep within my consciousness. Until you Sean and Margaret brought it back to the surface.

Very interesting, and on the face of it inspiring, certainly with the unrestricted access to idyllic beaches.
But left wondering what it was that was seen. Very brave to share with such openness and honesty, but this personal situation feels like it may be something deeper than simply being a creative introvert - one would like to think you can be this way without having to wait for children to leave home and remove oneself to a relatively remote island. Financially not a viable life choice for most either.
Due to this, personally I'd be slightly concerned about using the word 'advice' in the title, suggesting removing oneself from family etc.
    Wonderfully put together video though.
