Hi Cody and Kellie, you are on my traditional territory before colonization. I am from the Blackfoot Nation. My people occupied the land you are on and our land extends to Canada. The Blackfoot confederacy has 4 nations; 3 are in Canada and 1 is in Montana, specifically Browning Montana. The border divided my peoples territory. I enjoy watching your travels. I moved to Montana August 2021 when I retired for the beauty of this place. I live 90 miles from the East entrance of Glacier National Park. I've done the going to the Sun Road twice in 2021, September 10 and again October 4th to see the leaves change before they closed it for the winter. Going after the kids are back in school and no longer needed online reservations in September and October is the best. I practically had the whole 50 miles drive from East to West all to myself in October. So much to see just stopping on the 50 miles. You don't even have to hike in. I did do the avalanche trail hike. Such an amazing place for sure. I will be going again after September 11th 2022 again this year. Two Medicines Lake Campground National Park I've been to last August 2021 and July 2022. It's so beautiful there. Epic waterfalls. I love living here. Paradise ❤️
Back in the mid 70's I had a beautiful log home with a magnificent creek between Kalispell and White Fish and ventured into West Glacier as often as I could. I was an over the road truck driver and was on the road more often than at home. So that made it even better when I was at home. It is a magical mystery tour up there, thanks for taking us all along.

Because they're always moving. Hiking, biking, kayaking. They eat well to refuel themselves. Also I heard them say in one vlog that they don't eat lunch because they're off adventuring. They have a big brekky and dinner.

Kelly, find yourself a large square baked clay or ceramic tile (Home Depot, Lowes, TheRestore, Goodwill, etc) that will fit loosely inside the bottom of your oven. Your preheat time will take tad longer, but it should even out the heat distribution and reduce the bottom of your goods from burning. You want it to force the flame heat around the outside edges of the tile and upward rather than straight up the center.
BTW, those biscuits look delicious!!
YUP... I as also going to suggest that. I use one from Pampered Chef.
I use a porcelain tile left over from a home remodeling project. Works great.
I looked at pampered chef and they didn’t have the size
@@CodyandKellie Save some money and just get a tile. It doesn't have to fit tight, in fact you want it to have some gap around the edges to allow heat to rise and not localize at the bottom only. I will check at my local ReStore (Habitat for Humanity Store) this week. They usually have a ton of left over tiles that can be purchased one at a time. Sometimes our Goodwill has stuff like this as well. I'll grab you one if I find one. However you'll have to come camp with me in Oregon to get it. Wink!

Glacier is my FAVORITE national park! I do NOT hike anymore because I would just be Grizzley bear meet at my age 😂I just love traveling through there and taking in all the sites! In Hungry Horse just west of Glacier is a restaurant where they have the best huckleberry pancakes EVER! SO GOOD! Glacier only has a 3-4 month window opening due to the harsh long winters, but if you can get there and go through the 'Going to the Sun' road and take some of their beautiful lakes and majestic waterfalls then do it! SO gorgeous!
I learned something very important from a vlogger about bear spray. If you are going to use bear spray he said to spray down low don't aim up like to where you think you should spray keep the can pointing downward because the spray will move upwards with the air and if you're not spraying that way the bears usually put their heads down anyway it will never hit them and it'll be too late by the time it does get to their head. Just a little bit of knowledge hopefully you never have to use it but just in case.

Great video! Kelly, get a small pizza stone or a terra cotta flower pot base and put in the bottom of your camp stove. It will disperse the direct heat help a lot with burning stuff….

Don’t leave your bear spray in a warm area for to long if you are not using it. Mine went off in the closet I kept it in and it went off so when I opened the closet the horrible smell came out. If I was a bear I would run from it as well. It took a while to get the stain out of the carpet as well. Oh well live and learn!!!!

There are no glaciers at Iceberg Lake. Those are just snowfields.

I really enjoyed this video! Glacier is my favorite park too and, in fact, I am going there in two weeks for the 14th time. If Kelly is not in the Camp Cooking Hall of Fame we have to fix that. Continued good adventures.

Hey Kelly, get a piece of carbon felt (welding blanket ). Cut it the size of the pan bottom and that will keep the direct heat off of whatever you are cooking. No more burning in the stove!! Happy Trails.
And not a word about the Coming to the sun road!! Hmmm well the wife and I were there about 2 -3 weeks ago and that road is insane especially going down hill!!!
You had to make a reservation online for the going to the sun road and to enter west glacier. We didn’t know till we got there. Sold out for the next two days
@@CodyandKellie Interesting note to this, if you get there before 6am you can drive it anyways for no cost, just dont go out and come back in or else you will have to pay!!
Glacier is absolutely my favorite. We went there for a vacation from work in early Sept 2015 and spent a couple of days on the west side and the other 6 days one the east side and stayed at Swift Current Motor Inn inside the park. Iceberg lake trail was my favorite. We had planned to sit there and eat lunch. When we left it was a beautiful day probably in the 70s and by the time we reached the lake it was snowing and the wind was blowing so hard - not ideal for lunch. Hopefully you'll get to do Grinnell Trail. I live at sea level and am not in the best of shape so I couldn't finish that trail but what I did was beautiful. I enjoyed going to Fishercap Lake because usually got to see moose there. We saw SO many bears at this park. Huckleberry - there used to be a pie shop near Saint Mary's with homemade pies - yum. Now that we retired I want to go there with our 34 ft trailer but we aren't prepared to dry camp and aren't brave enough to go for first come first served so we'll have to make reservations somewhere and I think that kind of spot is limited on the east side. Loved the video and hope you get to spend a lot of time at the park! Sharon and Michael

You have probably already been there, but Montana Coffee Traders in West Glacier has the BEST Huckleberry coffee. We bought some when we were there in 2015. We loved it so much, we order it on line. PLUS, it's in season, now.
