    I am slowly moving into the realm of essentialism & balancing my want for some aesthetic things in my extreme minimalist home. I often tell myself to ‘GET RID of EVERYTHING’ that is a distraction.
    I like to show my thought process and minimalist versus essentialist mindset. Along with discussing how I am mindful of adapting versions of these practices to suit my lifestyle. That is, I like some elements of slow living. However, with some things I appreciate convenience. In the world of simple living. 'Simple' can mean something different for all of us. Some habits can actually complicate things. For instance, some of the growing aesthetic home storage routines can actually steal our time away from us. Which exactly the opposite of what I wanted to achieve on my minimalist journey. I am actually aiming to save as much time as possible with some elements of my minimalist life. So that I can focus on my main priorities. Albeit, I do appreciate good design, interior design, minimalist style and design.

      Thanks 😂 I just sometimes can’t be bothered and like to give my skin time off 😂 I also think I’m sick of seeing so many videos where people feel they have to look perfect all the time. It doesn’t feel real to me. I know that in my day to day life I don’t do my hair or wear mascara everyday 😂 so why make out like I do 😂

    I've only just started going in front of the camera for my minimalist channel. 1st time, I had a shower, washed my hair, straightened it for the 1st time in I cant even remember.... 2nd time. Greasy hair, scragged back in a ponytail with half of it falling out 😂 and I think I've got progressively more disheveled as the videos have gone on!! Part of my lifestyle choices is being conscious of how I use my time, if I have to go out of my way to look presentable, I won't make the video! I think you look lovely regardless and it's nice to see you and your home natural 🩷

      Thank You 😂 🩷 Yes it’s good to let the videos reflect reality isn’t it. Sometimes I’m tidy and sometimes I don’t feel like it 😂 so I think my videos should reflect that. As I’m just so fed up of seeing these always perfect homes and hair styles 😂 🩷

      @minimalismandmore I’d like to say mine is 😂 it would be if I lived alone but my partner is a very messy minimalist. He leaves his stuff everywhere. Even though he doesn’t have much. So thank goodness we are minimalist. But I find myself tidying it all away neatly all the time. Especially before pressing record 😂 and I thought occasionally I’m not going to do this to show the reality of living with someone else too 😂

      @@SagelifeMinimalism the same goes for background noise - the camera/phone is very selective and only picks up sound from a certain distance. UA-camrs are always apologizing for noise from neighbors, etc but it doesn't appear in the video at all (or only very very slightly)

    You can use the two little baskets for putting in your rice-sac etc, that aesthetic but is doesn't complicate the storage. You are so inspiring! But I'm not (yet) totaly over the aesthetic ;)

      Once I start with something so say storage jars, my mind is like 🤔 oh everything has to be in storage jars so there’s continuity 😂 Then all of a sudden I stand back and think hold on 😂 why? You don’t even need them. Just stuff maybe that is used a moderate amount of time and really does make a mess when spilled. Like flour and rice 🍚 😂

    Ha ha! Love your loose tea frustration! I had a simmilar issue with how I prepared my coffee. Pour over, Instant coffee, pour over in a glass container(to avoid plastic) and so on. Until I realised I was quitting coffee alltogether!(health issues like anxiety and heart palmation). I was so into this coffee making ritual. It was far out! Funny how you can get sucha a focus on things like that!

    Really random but it’d be interesting to know from a tech point and minimalism - how do you stop yourself from upgrading your equipment often. Not saying that you need to btw 😂 just when I watch videos and different creators I always feel like I need the latest equipment etc to get my quality to be better. It just feels never ending. I’m sure I’ve asked before but what do you use to film and edit 😊🤍

    • @SagelifeMinimalism
      @SagelifeMinimalism  Місяць тому +3

      I use a Sony ZV- 1F camera, it did only come out about 9 months ago, so it still feels new to me. But I won’t replace it until it breaks. I think now with a lot of technology they don’t differ that greatly in advancements from year to year. It’s minor tweaks here and there to models. I’d say it’s only after quite a large passing of time it may come outdated. My Mac is only about a year old too but I will keep that until it breaks as I think of the environmental impact too. As for iPhones I’ve never been one to upgrade whilst it works for again both the reasons above. My newest equipment is the röde Bluetooth mic set that is for if you want to film far away from your camera. So far I’m really impressed with them. I also now have a miniature joby tripod for my phone. A large ulanzi 160cm extendable tripod that is for my phone or camera. But it compacts to 30cm. I also got a Bluetooth Sony Tripod with My Camera. All the tripods as also for using as selfie sticks and vlogging as you walk etc. I still simply use iMovie to edit as I think it can do nearly everything most people would want to edit. It’s got the odd limitation but not much. 😊

      @@SagelifeMinimalism thank you for the reply! That’s amazing- heard great things about the Sony. Your quality is great ☺️
      I’m trying to comment on your videos more but it’s hard as I watch them on tv but I literally binge watch your videos all the time and honestly it’s such a comfort now. It’s easy to buy things we don’t need especially with the rise of tt shop and the ease of clicking a few buttons and having it arrive in no time. But I watch your channel very regularly to embed that it’s purely over consumption and amazing marketing and that we can live happily with very few items. The thing that gets me is with being a minimalist this would be fewer sponsorships and collabs and so would make it a lot harder to have yt etc as a full time job which is the goal 🤍

    • @SagelifeMinimalism
      @SagelifeMinimalism  Місяць тому +2

      @@sameenaarr9595 Thank You so much that’s lovely 🥰 I really appreciate the comments 😊 it is hard having to turn down sponsors to keep it within the principles minimalism & not over consumption. But I do think sometimes the right sponsors do their research well and find the minimalist channels. For instance I had a natural candle company approach me a while back which would be very in keeping (& consumable) They are just working out the packaging as it’s a start up company. I’ll also work with a brand that makes things sustainably if it is something I actually was thinking about getting. Like the aluminium suitcase recently. However I’m always turning down shoe sponsors because I simply don’t want anymore shoes. 👟 I think for minimalists wanting to make UA-cam their career it is reliant mainly on views and perhaps a membership platform like Patreon. Where people can pay just that little bit extra (like a tip) for extra content. I personally don’t think this has to be as much as some people charge. I personally request £3 a month and provide a minimum of 8 videos a month on Patreon - although it’s often more. That really does up your income quite abit. As £3 is not much to most people. But it all adds up as an income even say with as little as 100 patrons it’s something 😊
