    aren't these lamps too bright? These blue or cold white bright LED lamps may quite annoy the neigbors. They prevernt many people from normal sleeping. I am OK with LED and electricity bill saving, but the street lamps should be yellow with no more than 4 000 Kelvins/1 000 lumens. Anything brighter is OK inside the buildings, but outside it may cause quite a discomfort.

    Not that bright for a Street light. 13k lumens isnt 300 watts.. 13k lumen led is about 100watts. But its enough for what you wanted.
    Just dont rely off chinese products telling you numbers.. they lie. Abd you fell for it and advertise theyre lies on youtube to other unknowing people.
    A 300w led would put out 36,000 lumens if it used typical 120 lumen per watt led chips. So no it isnt 300w.

    This is a very nice bright solar light, good installation. When installing lights like this please be considerate of neighbors with telescopes or doing nighttime astrophotography. When this light is on please use it in the amber mode. It would be nice if these were sold or designed with a shield around the light so stray light would not go out horizontally but only down. It is nice the light can be turned off when not needed.

    This solar-powered LED fixture is a good way to get lighting without the hassle of extra wires. However, you mentioned in the video that even if you turn the light off manually, it will still automatically turn on at the next night fall. That means that when you are not around (e.g. on vacation or simply not needing to go to the backyard), the light will be on, night after night, being of no actual help, but only generating a great deal of light pollution (affecting the health of wildlife: insects, hedgehogs, small rodents - depends on the specific area of course) and also causing discomfort to neighbors. It is well known that light pollution is expanding at an alarming rate, and now this fixture only contributes to it. Would there be any way to disable the automatic startup? If so, the dark-sky movement, which I am part of, would love to see an update from you covering this aspect. Thank you!

    Well done. My family has been paying for the streetlight, at the street, that basically sits on the property line between myself and my neighbor. We've been paying it alone for decades, and I'm sure it's tied into which house was occupied first....but I'm just sick of paying it alone, when we both benefit the same. I may inquire about having it split between the power bills for both houses, as I'd prefer to keep it in service, but I'm guess Florida Power & Light would tell me that's not feasible, and my neighbor just might balk at the idea, as well.....which is why I'm considering having a house mounted street light, and telling FPL to yank the plug (and maybe go screw themselves, as they're no better at their job than Gulf Power was).

    Yeah but solar panel will be in the shade half the day? Maybe the sunshine path goes side to side, that would be best for full recharge. I also noted that several of your items are back lit, creating harsh, near black shadows in the shed and bbq area. Do you have fill light on the opposing side of the yard? Lumens? Street lights always run on A/C, solar charge lighting can’t sustain full lumen output all night long. I have two hard wired led security fixtures totaling 50,000 lumens to the street and one 20,000 lumen fixture in the back of the house. I never turn these things on unless their is a major disturbance. I do have welcoming motion sensor flood lights as a level below what I would call security lighting. Below the floods which only put out 3,500 bright white lumens are turn down accent lighting fixtures. This offers three levels of home personality in regards to guests or criminals. When things get suspicious 50k of lighting scares anyone 6 to 8 houses on either side of me! It’s awesome!

    Beware this guy is showing one light the installation of it and then posting a link of something that's totally different he's missing out the yellow feature I purchase the 300w cool white when thinking that it was both the yellow end of cool white and it's actually not so I just wanted to post that so that everybody knows that the link that he's posting is not the actual light that he's making his video on which is kind of shity if you ask me

      Put a layer or more of amber cellophane over the light to get it to the color tone you want. That or attach the cellophane to a frame that you can put on or remove from the light as needed.

    Your lamp placement, has the grill surface in the shadow of the open bbq lid. That would annoy me, as would the default dusk to dawn illumination. How are your neighbors reacting?

    When light bulbs run out how do you replace it and how much would it cost? Second question a lot of people saying it last 2 month only, seems like your video is done few month ago, maybe you can share your experiences here? I live in FL sun is not an issue here, but wind and rain is, would like to know if anyone used that light for more than 6 month.

    I have two, one for the left gable end of my house and one on my chain link four foot fence, I bought a twelve foot metal post and clamped it to my fence end post so it's fourteen feet high. Lights up my drive good at night and the wildlife love it when they come in my yard at night looking for food on the ground.

    You're geeky to have installed it yourself. However, you will soon realise that it's not as ideal as you would think. LED is incredibly damaging to the eyes because of it's high candela (intensity) and high amount of blue light emitted. Try staring at it for a few seconds and you know. Even if you don't look directly at it, your peripheral vision will see it and the damage will start.

    • @scottb2794
      @scottb2794 4 роки тому +1

      That type of light doesn't actually damage your vision. It does, however, interrupt circadian rhythms in both humans and animals. I find that level of brightness unnecessary since I actually have night vision. I feel sorry for those who need this.

    • @tallme
      @tallme 4 роки тому +1

      @@scottb2794 momentary blindness happens. And if one keeps getting exposed to it, your eye will be damaged. Your vision may or may not be damaged, but something will screw up i promise. Again, try staring at it a few times a day. Do that over a few days or weeks. I promise that you will hate yourself for doing it and you won't just hate it that it interrupts your circadian rhythms. There's more things happening of which medical science hasn't found reasons yet. Peace.

      Not exactly sure why anyone would want to stare at the light, even for a "few seconds".

    • @tallme
      @tallme 3 роки тому +1

      @@barnabasg8593 You can read my initial comment. Basically looking directly damages vision, we know that. But not many realise the peripheral vision needs to be "safe" from damaging light too.
