this scrolls like game looks real good, real promising. the funny thing is that it looks like they took inspiration from the elder scrolls games in how they have chosen to make it play like, i have more faith in this game dev than i do with Bethesda, and that is sad to admit about bethesda.
Fetch quests are actually very good in 'scrolls likes' because they enable the player to naturally come across encounters/dungeons etc. On their own fetch quest are boring, but can be a great combination with good world and quest design. I have been loosely following this game, it's looking really good. Probably will wait for full release before I dive in.
If any developer read this, you choose the best guy for the job! If the CEO of the company reads this, give the marketing team a raise, they deserve it, this was a brilliant move.
Fetch quests are a good add in a game like this. cos i WANT to explore. and that just gives me a reason to explore with a goal tethered to that exploration.
This game looks really cool. Something to scratch that Skyrim itch. Not that it's a clone, but it's giving me those vibes. Glad you're getting to show us more. Cheers
I´ve played about 15 hours and the tone is very different from skyrim. Feels more like a project red game than a bethesda. More mature and serious and less cliché
It almost looks like Elder Scrolls with a Dark Souls skin, and if that's the case I'm going to be very pleased. I never could get into the Souls games due to the esoteric nature and the difficulty, but this looks like it could be a more accessible version. Although I'm afraid to hope; been disappointed too many times, lol
It's pretty smart of them to engage UA-cam content creators to showcase their game while they are busy actually creating it, rather than spending a lot of their money and time to PR the game themselves, especially if that is not their strength. I really enjoy this game already and I think it had a ton of potential to be even better, looking forward to more.
The very first Avowed teaser seemed like it could be promising, but after seeing the first real trailer and playing Outer Worlds, I basically gave up all hope, before even seeing the lame looking party and everything. They obviously are not the same Obsidian who made Alpha Protocol.
I don't necessarily need my fantasy RPG's to be "dark", but I definitely don't want it to look like a game of Candy Crush like Veilguard's done. TG is vastly superior in this regard, no question.
I feel the same way and I doubt I will purchase until the inevitable last discount right before 1.0 (devs always do it before increasing their price for 1.0.) The devs have said themselves that they are still fine-tuning difficulty, as some of the content is unbalanced.
I'm sure the devs would love your support, but like I stated in the video just keep in mind that these updates leading up to release will not be added to the early access version of the game. These are all for 1.0.
Yeah, even if you have no interest in playing games in Early Access if you aren't worried about the devs abandoning their game, it can be a great way to save some money. Most I don't buy as early as I did this, but I really wanted to support this project.
I bought this when it first released to early access and fell in love. I’m so glad you are getting some love from the devs and I’m glad the devs are getting some increased exposure.
@@WolfheartFPS Thanks, man!!! And thanks for the information on the game! I'm a big Arthurian legend fan, so this is right up my alley (seemingly evil Arthur not withstanding)
Great video! Bought the steam version to support the dev but will probably buy it on PS5. Enjoying the game so far but I'm stopping playing until release, so exited!
I typically do not buy early access games but about a week ago, I was convinced by you and mug thief to pick it up on EA. I put like 3 hours into it and was having so much fun, I didn’t want to put it down but I thought, “I owe it to this game to wait for 1.0 launch.” I’m definitely glad I supported it. It definitely scratches that elder scrolls itch. I cannot wait for 1.0. They’re doing a good job.
I already bought the game from your very first video about it. Played a bit just to see if it's really as good as you made it seem, and I was blown away. Just the combat alone is fantastic. I'm abstaining from playing anymore until it is finished so I can get the intended experience without months in between. The new additions seem to be great. The dev team definitely know what they're doing. Ever since Skyrim I've waited for others to take up the mantle Bethesda left behind and develop the formula in a more RPG like direction instead of Bethesda's action one. 13 years later we finally some pretty promising contenders. I hope Tainted Grail finds success and they and others continue to make scrolls-likes. They are in my opinion the most promising branch of the RPG genre. BG3 was a masterpiece, but I just want to feel immersed in the world in a first person perspective (3rd is also acceptable like the Witcher), but top down is just a huge hurdle for me. I cannot wait for the next few years.
Saw this video directly after playing the demo, it convinced me to buy the full game. Love the art direction in this, and I love that the combat feels a lot more strategic than a normal Scrolls-like!
I absolutely love their first game, Tainted Grail Conquest, the roguelike with cards; I have over 600 hours into it. Waiting for full release for this one, as is my policy these days. Been done with games that are in early access for a while now.
1:57 Wow! Awaken realms rebuilt the Horns of the South to make it look like an actual medieval castle, not as bunch of jumbled free assets with 1,5 cripples lurking around pointlessly. This is so sick! Can't wait to experience 0.8 by myself!
After playing this game for a while seeing these new changes is insane the game devs work a ton everything has basically been improved in such little time I have no doubts that this game will be a big one. It’s a blast and it feels great to play.
I have never heard of this game until today, and its the exact type of title I've been craving. We have such a lack of first person RPG titles in the current market.
I've been seeing this game pop up on my feed a lot recently and I am super excited for it now! I usually don't hop into early access games unless they're mostly complete, but I'm definitely gonna try to snag it on ps5 when the full release hits
No magic will ever excite me than what we had with Dark Messiah of Might and Magic. Motion captured, mesmerizing hand gestures that just fit to the spell the character is using, is just too creative for today's day and age.
This game has some brilliant innovations. It evokes so much nostalgia with its art design… but the mobs seem to be completely unique. My only worry is is the small size of the Dev team- I hope they can pull it off
I never played skyrim or Dark Soul's like since I'm more of a story driven game guy like Witcher & Baldur but I'm very interested in what I see from this game. I will absolutely follow this closely.
they should implement a housing build system into a game like this. All these base buiilding games are survival but it would be cool to have plots in various town that allow for building. might not be for everyone but id like that

It's so weird seeing the development of this game over time, it was originally a computer version of the Boardgame that we backers had access to for free Then they decided to change it to a Skyrim looking Open World RPG I am waiting to play it more til its more polished, but its definitely getting there
Honestly I'm loving the current available build of the game. Hoping all these changes only iterate on what's there and not scrapping some of the really good stuff available. Okay now it looks good, in fact this looks really close to Avowed's first trailer. I'm no longer interested in avowed, but this? This has me Extremely interested.

It'll be interesting to see the new changes. I know on the early access build I played it seemed like I gravitated towards a long range magical stealth caster build. But that style can be rather monotonous since you basically just spammed simple spells as enemies approached in a linear manner to get hit repeatedly. Smacking knights in the face with melee weapons was more engaging, though it took time to set up your gear to face them.
I just played and beat the early access. I was like "yea, im gonna play sword and board." And then within 30 minutes.... stealthy archer. Skyrim has ruined me forever.
