Before I'd say to myself I'll read for 30 minutes and by the time I look at the clock it'll be 3am. I now use an app on my phone that gamifies sleeping that provides incentive to sleep at a certain time.
I found some videos where a person does guided yoga on a chair. It's very convenient to do at my desk. So I think for me the trick is doing self care that easily fits into your existing routine. Or use something of your existing routine as a trigger for a self care technique. For some people who have a compulsion to always work they might schedule time for self care or simply some activity where they don't always have to be on.
Drink water, positive self talk/affirmations, meaningful connections, turn self-care into a game, set a bedtime alarm, take bio breaks, guided meditations or affirmations on commute time, pause and acknowledge, reframe your rest, keep log of all all the positive things you do and the positive things people notice about you
Thank you so much for your videos! You are a blessing and encouragement to so many people. I appreciate you.💕 keep doing what you’re doing, you inspire me.😊
