And today we’re going to be checking out some higher end atmos capable speakers. First we’ve got the Bose Smart Soundbar 900, then theres the Sony HT-A5000, and then there’s the Samsung HW-Q800A.

Bose 900 and the Sub 700 is an awesome setup, just be sure to use the wired subwoofer connection, no pops, nor drops if wired.
I had the same popping issue and hard wired with an aux. amazing set up

Great review…new subscriber! 😁 I have the Bose 900 Soundbar and have Bose 700 Soundbar…both have the beautiful glass top. If I’m standing up watching TV then yes I see the reflections. I guess I never stand up to watch TV so when I sit down, I don’t see the reflections. I have had people over and they never commented on any distractions with the glass top. The only thing that they have said is it sounds awesome!
Is the Bose 900 better then the 700? Don’t know which one to choose…
@@robinlemvik3246 IMO I would definitely say yes! The volume is definitely louder and with the two up firing Atmos speakers it gives it a more wider soundstage. I am in the basement so I have a lower ceiling which does help. I still have both in my house the 900 and the 700…the 700 is still very good but my choice would be the 900. Of course, when the source material has Dolby Atmos then it really comes alive. If you can get the 700 for a really good deal then you have to take that to consideration.

If the Samsung comes with the external woofer, it's kinda unfair to test it against sound bars with built in woofers. But I hear your point on space....but still lol
Go Bose 900! Like I said in comments a minute ago. My old Bose 700 has wider soundstage than the Sony hta7000.....just doesnt have the Atmos effect. And $900] for the Bose 900, sure beats $1400 buyer remorse I got with the Sony hta7000. To put into context. Gymcanddy reviewed the Hta5000 not the 7000. The 7000 is bigger and all vs the 5000. Just try more than one like I did. Thanks yall

people saying the bose 700 module pops and cracks a lot only happens when you place it near another wireless device like internet modem. if you can no option but that then you can use a wired connection with aux. Else try moving the bass module some place else

Amazing Demonstration. I congratulate you. Unfortunately I don’t have any chance to test this set physically so it’ll be a gamble for me to purchase the set (soundbar 900 + bass module 700)

Get Sony a7000. I ordered several from different places abusing return policy and a7K is the best
I found a Sony A5000 refurb for 399. I think I'll pick it up and get the sub as well. My current speakers were 20 year old Logitech Z550? And they just got flooded. Rip my old friend.
I've got a Sony TV 9 series from 2 yrs ago. Looking for a sound bar, the review of the sony sound bar that it sounds flat worries me, but yet it's got all the connectivity. Sony or bose??? Help anyone.
I just returned the Bose 900. The 900 sound bar sounds great but their bass modules are crap. I originally purchased the 700 bass module and it crackled and popped a lot. I then returned that and decided to try the 500 bass module and same thing but not as bad as the 700. Until they can improve their wireless connection between sound bar & sub I’d steer clear especially for the price you pay. If you decide to try Bose purchase directly from them as they offer 90 day no risk with free return shipping.
Also, not an isolated issue, just look at the reviews for the 700 bass module on bose site
It seems to be a common issue with a lot of wireless subwoofers lately. Be sure to lock down the 5.4ghz channel on your WiFi router, it can help fix a lot of these issues.

The Sony has hdmi 2.1 inputs and outputs. That’s instant win. You can connect a 4k 120 fps device.

Love your reviews. Ive had Bose 700 Sb for 4yrs now. Still great. Went for an Atmos Sb recently. Was thinking Bose 900 since the 700 was so good. Any who. I bought the Sennheiser Ambeo and Sony 7000. Had to try both because of all the hype. So ended up like this. I was baffled at all the high praise about the Sony hta7000 after listen to both. I dont understand. The Sennheiser basically made the Sony sound like an alarm clock radio compared to the Ambeo. All my gear is Atmos ready. I know the Hta5000 is close to the 7000, but wow. The Sony Hta7000 was terrible campared to Ambeo. Anyone else try either of these with same result? Sont Hta7000 was promptly taken back for refund. Kept the Sennheiser. Bose 900 would surely sound better than the Sony. Sony $1400. Sennheiser $2000 right now. If you have the cash.....try both and let us know. Thanks everyone
AMBEO ALL DAY EVERYDAY! as a Sennheiser headphone user and using their GSX1000 dac/amp I knew Sennheiser AMBEO would be the pick! impressive soundbar and it blows away all other soundbars, it's paired with a martin logan subwoofer and its ASTONSHING

Sony and Bose are similar. Samsung have better bass because of external woofer. Overall Sony has the best sound.

The Bose bass module 700 is available to pair with the soundbar 900 but you have to pay more for it. It is beautifully built and a very reliable high quality set up that can last 25-30 years. Bose is known for its long lasting products in all types of conditions. The Sony can’t do that.

I checked out the HT-A5000 in stores and it was terrible sounding at Best Buy, maybe they didn't bother calibrating it all and it was a unbox and set on a table situation but my god, it was awful

I hear what you say about the Q800A, the bass is good the the rest of the sound is kinda meh.... Kinda tinny and height effects with Atmos is pretty much non existent :/ Wished the A5000 was available where i live....
I feel like this video sucks at comparing the sounds because it keeps switching sooo often to where you theres not much of a difference and shows that its only the settings of what you put it at and I mean yeah there is a little difference you can hear but you keep changing it very often to where there little to no difference at all . So I feel like if you let it play out for a good 20-30 seconds each for each speaker then Yeah I can def tell the difference.

@@werewolflover8636 sound very similar but it has more bass and the extra hdmi input... no hdmi input is a deal breaker for most, me included... plus it can be wall mounted without paying extra money
