Really great speakers! Tracks: 2:20 - Your Heart is as Black as Night - Melody Gardeau 5:14 - Lost Without You - Freya Writings 7:37 - Queen Mary - Francine 13
The issue i have is that i sm listening on my £200 phone its a bit like when the tv adverts come on showing high definition colour snd i can only get what my current tv is capable of, sounds great tho!.
The usual cabinet resonance distortion of the 800 series and Nautilus. Such cabinet resonance distortion was common 40 years ago, unacceptable for a modern high end speaker.

Nice, though I can't believe B&W are still using aluminium diaphgragms when technology has moved on at a rapid pace. That also explains why they rolled off the tweeter at 25Hz (+/- 6db). I'd expect a lot more for $100kUS speakers which require 4 stereo amps or 8 mono blocks to drive them. For a quarter of the price, I'd rather buy a pair of Linkwitz LX521 Reference speakers with Aluminium-Panzerholz sandwich top and the matching PowerBoxNCore amps & cables.
Yes, I’ve had 2 sets of LX521.4s and they are excellent speakers at a much lower price point, they just aren’t art, nor iconic. So, if it is just the sound you’re interested in the LX521.4 is a great choice.
@@CobraChamp Well i'm an audiophile, so I vote for the music. I'll leave the Toorak toffs to buy those B&W's for their mansions. Re: iconic, I'd beg to differ. Siegfried Linkwitz was a genius, and his LX521 speakers have been continually refined over decades to the point that they can now compete with any high end speaker on the planet. They may not be as artistic as the Nautilus, but I think Siegfried Linkwitz's magnum opus which was the realisation of his life's work deserves to be called iconic.
@@melbguy1 There's a video--few actually---of the Linkowitz speaker, you all can high five each other in their comments sections. Lance Dickie who designed the Nautilus is more of a genius and his latest Vivid Giya's proves it.
@@Carrera6rennsport I heard the Giya G2's at the Australian Hifi & AV Show and was not impressed. They sounded bright and forward, and my listening notes say the mids had a slight 'metallic' sheen typical of metal dome drivers. They also look like meringues. But each to their own I guess. And I don't need to fawn over YT videos of the Linkwitz LX521.4 speakers. Michael Fremer's and Tom Martin's reviews were informative enough.
Never liked B&W speakers and this is not different. When will they learn about baffle step compensation? Quite stunning that they still produce so bright and edgy sounding loudspeakers
@@mpi5850 It like saying not to like Ferrari, people can't believe it! in fact I do not, I tracked them and if something catches fire or falls off, its a Ferrari, nope, not for everybody, the Nautilus are disappointingly unexciting - not for me!
Very transparent and uncolored sound. Not sure if it's the recording or because I'm listening on headphones but the "imaging" it terrible. The piano ans cymbals seem to stretch across the entire stage.
I am user of b&w, this Nautilus was a goal for me ( sone years a go). The sound it's to soft for this days, maibe Classe Delta make this more obiously. But four of ultra high end amp ( Gryphon, i say) is too expensive.. Maibe some good D class amp make this posible. Indeed it's a resonance free cabinet ( outside), i like it very much.. If i buy in future, i change crosovers for i can use with my Amp.. Eny way, UA-cam make sound to soft and with more lows.. BR👍

Queen Mary sound fantastic for me in those speakers
Does it do Bluetooth? I want to listen to UA-cam videos from my phone.
would have been nice to see the external crossovers

I'll take 2 please.
Only $60,000!
Buyer beware, had personally experienced badly corroded woofers inspite of paying high 5 figure sum for b&w speakers 😢😢😢

100% agre
i loooove this design and worked towards getting a set, then I auditioned them and: nope, amazingly beautiful, but sound was below par,
Sure you did, we believe you

Terrible... Any $5 full-range driver mounted on an open baffle will sound much more unrestricted and natural...
I think it that were true, than HiFi wouldn't even exist
