+The-terminator they patented a new connector for the headphones which is thinner . they are gonna kill the battery on the next iphone -.- unless they come up with some new battery which is crazy thin and lasts long it is going to be tough
+dablaire89 no, they did it because they had to fit new components in, the new taptic engine aka the vibrating motor on the new 6s takes up a big chunk of space that belonged to the battery
The new iPhone is going to be the slimmest iphone ever released, that's why they are getting rid of the headphone jack aswell. I'm guess I larger battery isn't going to be introduced
i hope that they reduced the battery to keep the iPhone 's dimensions while thickening the aluminum case and introducing taptic engine and 3d touch, not just to be a douche. And i hope that iphone 7 will aim toward the battery issue with a new design that can fit all these features while increasing the battery. I mean, you can't put something new without taking away from something else, and in Apple's case they prefer taking some battery away.
The bluetooth for the iPhone 6 is turned on. You can see at the beginning of the video (1:00) that it's turned on, but the indicator isn't showing in the status bar. I'm not sure why it wasn't showing in the status bar, but it was never turned off throughout the video.

Instead of permanent mAh you shoul definitely type the % of battery and how much time it passed. It takes so much time to focus your phone that anyone would forget what they just seen.
The iPhone 6S+ still gets me well through the day with pretty good usage, So for me I wouldn't see a reason not to go with the 6S+ because of the smaller battery
i have to charge my iphone 3 times per day, im going oldschool Nokia 3310 here i come! Never have to charge my phone agian! "some people say, you only have to charge a 3310 once"
+John 4 Reason 1. Usless Gim, I mean, "Taptic Engine" 2. It saves them money and they can get their marketing department to claim "optimizations". This difference is big enough for anyone with decent brainpower to be frustrated by, but most people who buy an iPhone every year don't have that kind of brainpower.
It's interesting that there was >10% difference, since the batteries themselves are only ~5-6% smaller, and the S models are surely more efficient. I think that we will see this improve with iOS 9 software tweaks over time, because even IF the S models were ONLY as efficient as the predecessors, we should only see ~5-6% difference.
+iAdden I was making a joke but basically what I'm trying to say is that the test wouldn't be very accurate if he used them in airplane mode. Airplane mode completely shuts down cellular connections which would give the phone better battery life, BUT as I said before, no one walks around with their phone on airplane mode so leaving airplane mode off for this test gives us a more accurate representation of how much battery you would get if you used this phone each day.
+The Black Sannin the point of this test is to compare battery life, not see how long the battery life is. If they all had airplane mode it'd be more accurate as to prevent the differences between having a sim and not having one
i dont get the trend to have phones thinner. I wouldnt mind having the thickness on iphone 6 plus on my 6s if i can have a better battery. Battery life should be the most important part of modern smartphones.
if you been wondering, i calculate this. he didnt say what time he started playing the videos, i tried to find it myself. when the 1st episode is done, it was 53 minutes, the 1st episode ended at 1.31 pm. the last episode ended up at 5.41. I just calculated the Ip6. Iphone 6 lasts until 32% or it lost 68% in 321 minutes or 5 hours 21 minutes :) *iphone6 lost 68% for 5 hours 21 minutes* you can count the others with the same length of time
Well the battery for the new model is lower due to size restrictions. But for me my 6S Plus battery doesn't seem bad at all..been using it for 2 days nearly and I'm on 17% :-)
I hate when people say they are going to stick with the 6 and 6+ because getting the new ones are stupid just say that you can't afford them or have contracts
A lot of people can afford it, but really it doesn't worth to upgrade. I am happy with my 6. There are a few upgrades which really impressed me, but I know that in a year iPhone 7 will come out with a new design, a better battery then iPhone 6 and an improved 3D Touch. Speed wise iPhone 6 and 6s don't really differ. So i'd rather get an "improved 6s" then to just buy the 6s and have minor differences
you clearly have no brain, why fork out a load of money on a phone which is essentially no different to its predecessor? and don't give me the camera bullshit, there is barely any improvement, my friend had the 6+ and now has the 6s+ he said it wasn't worth the money..and he is a DIEHARD apple fan.
And yeah I am sticking with my 6 since I'm tied in a 2 year contract (4 or 5 months into it) so I will wait for the iPhone 7 / 7s. The 6s is probably the worst S upgrade I've seen.
I have a comment about the battery lives on the plus devices: I noticed that the volume was higher on these two devices. Wouldn't that impact battery life since it would require more power? Most notably on the 6s plus, which was near maximum.
The ios 9 improvements were things like battery saving mode and keeping the screen off in you pocket when you get notifications. Those type of improvements weren't tested in this video.
There are so many factors that can skew the results. Was the volume on because all the volumes were set to different levels. Did some of the iPhones have background app refresh or auto updates on? Home much were the iphones used before this test? Aka (Battery health)... Were all the phones charged right before the test and if so where they all discharged to the same amount before charging them? Were all the phones running on the same iOS version? Also, sometimes iphones last much longer during the last 10% of the battery than other times. All in all though, thanks for the test! Just puzzling that the discharge of the iPhone 6s was so far off from iPhone 6 even though if only has 95 less mah.
I charge my 6s plus overnight, use it moderate to heavily throughout the day and by the time i go to bed i struggle to kill it all the way to 0% battery life is dope as shit
Uhh the fact that the new devices basically can survive any drop without marks/smashing is really impressive. But the fact that the battery drains even quicker is 2 steps back. Thank you for this video, I mean seriously, even if iOS 9 has built in power saver mode it's still guaranteed only an extra hour. LIKE WHO THE HELL THOUGHT THAT WAS A GOOD IDEA. Great job Apple, great job......
"New devices can basically survive any drop without marks" um k I have the iPhone 6s Plus, dropped it from LAP height while getting up (probably fell 35-40 cm) and cracked with a screen protector. Thanks a lot for this video man..I might with iPhone 6 now.. Can you please do one more test whenever you get time? A test with all 4 phones playing a long hd video till they die. This would give the total screen on time for which they can play a video. Thanks again :)
which chips did the newer iphones have in this video? because in other tests they would have the same battery life, but this difference is due to chipgate.
Instead of just comparing iPhone 6/s/plus battery life, add all the older iPhones in to the mix, and all iPads and iPods, and LG and Samsung flagship phones.

its not a good price, you can get the iphone 6 now for only 200$ and 129$ on black friday!

Dear Apple,
Can you make the IPhone a little thicker and put a bigger battery and remove the protruding camera ?
Thanks you

Yeah but dude the battery is awful
Awful naaa
IPhone 6 is better than know .which is good ur opinion dude tell me
Volume has a big effect on battery and they were all different volumes

Wait...Why'd they put a worse battery in the new iPhone? What is their logic...?
They lowered it because they said that they were running the iphone in a more efficient way and that the battery life would last longer. Thanks apple
+Allen Fallon yeah they supposedly "optimized the internals" i see no optimization here. -.- i love apple but damn they really fucked up

i dont understand why u had to make everything complicated you coukd of just removed all the sim cards
Anyone watching this video in 2022 like me??
Make it a level playing field. Just put them in airplane mode. Or remove the SIM cards. And putting them ALL on max volume is important.
It wouldn't make sense to do that because people usually don't put their phone in airplane mode unless they where on an airplane.
