+YujinXshadow got xperia too i think this test is irrelevant since phones are brand new from box, if they still hold water after half year of use ( phone has been dropt few times and little bit bruised) and if it still holds water it would be impressive. I also think that if i pay almost 1k€ from phone holding clean water for an hour should be obviosly one feature.

I saw a photo that showed a seal inside the case of the 6S/6S+. What I'm wondering is if there is a difference in the water test between a fresh unit that hasn't been opened vs an opened version and wondering that seal needs to be replaced when the unit is opened to retain the same level of water resistance.
Also, if you press hard on the unit while under water, it can leak water in the 3.5mm jack and around the screen that does cause damage, so by not trying to cause water to seep in while submerged, they seem a lot better in terms of water resistance.
Maybe they're giving it a test run... they don't want to say "it's water resistant!" and then have a bunch of people come to them saying "MINE BROKE IN THE WATER REFUND ME". because the second they say something like that it opens up legal risk and nobody likes lawsuits. I'll be looking to see another video in a week or so to see if they're still operating well.
If they add official water resistance certification to the iPhone 7 then I'm leaving android.

The thing is that I have an S5 and my next phone is probably gonna be an Xperia but the 6s has impressed me, and I'm just saying that.
The 6s is already the most powerful, fastest phone and best screen and camera out there so I recommend you do mate

Did all the functions continued working the hours and days after the test? I've an iPhone 6 Plus which I accidentally drown with a whole bottle of water when I was running, I didn't turned it off immediately I kept running and functions started to fail, first was the volume buttons, then the Touch ID, my screen had a fade in the center... About an hour later I arrived to my house, turned it off and put it in a ziplock full of rice for 20 hours. Next day the problems were the same but as soon as I started to use it and it got warm by use, the problems were disappearing, the only problem that persisted was the Touch ID which was crazy and the home button was double clicking constantly. At the end of that day the home button and the Touch ID were perfect and right now I'm using it and everything works as new...
my wife's 6s was submerged for a few seconds and it fried 😞

It's like the Apple Watch. I already expected that they are waterproof when I saw the tear down from ifixid and detected the seal along the screen. I think they don't say it at the Apple Watch and the iPhone because they don't wanna pay for it if it gets destroyed, but they take it as a feature to make the user happy ;)

Well, I got a macbook (cause I kinda had to for school-designer-programs-retina screen) ...And I like it, love to work with it (got bit slower now though) ...
but the screen has like something..the top layer is getting off, causing me to look at like an "damaged' screen. This is a problem that is seen very often with apple laptops. The only way to fix it is to put in a new screen which costs over 100euros!!! And the laptop is already twice and more the money I would usually give to a laptop!!!!
The worst thing about this problem: Apple refuses to recognize this problem as their fault...there is always an excuse for how it's the user's fault (always used special fibre whipe to clean it)....so it isn't fixed under warranty...leaving me with a RETINA screen (which I specially had to buy for my designer education) which isn't retina-worty cause I got "spots" on my screen....SO I have to use my laptop with this screen (not optimal), cause I don't wanna pay that much money!!!
Oh and another thing about apple products!! They make them, and make sure all the accessories and stuff can only be used if they are from Apple!!Another way to earn even more money!!!
Don't get me wrong, I do think apple makes good products and stuff, good design!!! But they kinda rip of people...they make it all ridiculously expensive and when there are little faults they refuse to recognize it!

There are millions of iPhones on the market so a false promise can cause big damage, but that's not the point. Repairing iPhones doesn't make apple broke but weaker. It's not that I support that tactic because I like to get new devices through warranty, but it's like the screen. No company would ever do free repair for broken screens even if they say it's unbreakable.

My friend has an iPhone 6 and she dropped it in a river and had to swim to the bottom and get it, she thought for sure she would have to get a new one but even though it was 5 ft under water for 30 seconds in really cold water it still works absolutely perfect. I was there when it happened btw.

Show me this same test, taking the water directly from the faucet. They aren't waterproof at all. You're using deionized water which doesn't hurt electronics.

I used my iphone 6s to capture fireworks. So the rear camera facing upward whilst it was raining. I did not bother to use it anyway because I thought it'll be just fine since the only thing exposed is the rear camera area (inc. the mic and flash). I just used to capture 10-minute video. I then noticed that there's a water droplet inside the rear camera. It was just a small droplet but when I point the camera in strong lighting background, you'll notice that there's a distortion somehow. Quite annoying. I suspect that the water entered the rear camera's mic since it's like a small hole.
I tried to place my camera in a plastic bag of uncooked rice overnight but the droplet was not absorbed. Two days have passed already but the water droplet still there. Any thoughts? Thanks :)

Kim Angelo You can buy them on places like Amazon and you might even have some around your house. Just stick them in like a ziploc bag for a day or so and it will dry it out for sure!

they don't come with Sim cards out of the box. notice no service in upper left when he first turns them on.

That's what happens when you have water on the screen. Even my water proof galaxy s5 will press things when there is a drop of water on the screen, it's normal.

When I got my 6s plus wet it shut off and the sound didn’t work until I put it in rice
There was this one time I accidentally dropped my brand new iphone4 into a wash basin with the water running and I almost had a heart attack! But luckily nothing happened to it... except the speaker would make an annoying buzzing sound during a phone call... and that was almost 5 years ago...

My 6s was the first phone i ever had and it is holding up great for 3 years (yes , you saw it right 3 years) , it feels brand new , charging is good and everything , i spilled some drinks on it in the past and it recovers well !

I don't get how this could be. You see the slot where the charger cable is being inserted with exposed conductors, the holes for headset, mic, built in speaker... I doubt if water can't get through it.

Back in the water then 😂. I am a first time iPhone user, I jumped to the 6S from a Samsung A12 whose display shut down as a glitch in 23 seconds when it dropped in water. I'm glad to discover the 6S is waterproof.
