There's a reason Scottsdale acquired the nickname _Snottsdale_ among Phoenicians years ago lol. The crowd seemed to fit the nickname, not terribly enthusiastic, if they didn't get it, that's on them, Steve's a brilliant comic, the speed of his wit is truly impressive. I'll bet his reception would have been warmer at EG, the Improv in Tempe, down by ASU, much more progressive demographic.
@@Lux7355 You got something on your chin there, some white crusty residue... Scottsdale being themselves, I think the way Steve set up this show was sort of confronting... It's a good clip regardless.
I have heard better ad libs in comedy stand up. There is a particular show by Thor Ramsey (Christian comedian) that is legendary. A member of the audience was going to a particular university Thor never heard of and started making fun of the name. Then he asked her what she was studying and she said "intercultural communications" Epic moment. Even Thor admitted "oh folks you can't write comedy like this"
Steve, you are a really amazing comedian! The fact that you can do a whole set on questions from the audience is really incredible! What a hallmark of a truly funny person! Definitely coming to a live show!
No, like I am dying right now I’ve literally only seen him make a fool out of other people and be genuinely annoyed because he just wants to talk, but honestly, the secondhand embarrassment from this made me mad and also a little scared to ever put my name in the hat for kill Tony crowd hurt me and I wasn’t even there.
Damn the crowd was brutal. But the stuff was really good. Loved the 9/11 joke, cracked me up so hard. But I think stuff like this where you're creative on the spot must be easier when its a packed house. As people tend to be more prone to laugh if mroe peopel laugh.
It takes a lot of bravery, confidence, self awareness, and a great ability to read people to do improvised stand up. I have a lot of respect for you. Love your videos. Thanks for all the great content!
Watching this was a splendid way to end my work week. I've seen you perform material live and I've been to a live Laughs taping--now I just need to go to one of these improvised shows and I will achieve a Hofstetter hat-trick.
As soon as he started insulting Snottsdale, people started getting up and leaving because they knew they were the EXACT type of people he was talking about.
Heads up, my New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania tickets are on sale now if you haven’t gotten them yet. I’ll be in Pleasantville, New York, Point Pleasant Beach, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh. Grab tickets at SteveHofstetter.com and see you there!
Every time I'm at the laugh factory I have seen an amazing improvised show. Love you Steve and hope to see you again at the Looney Bin in Little Rock soon.
I just love you! Awesome I was sad and crying and bam humor good humor thank you laughter is truly the best medicine. You are why I am afraid to go to a show.
took me a while to find out about you. started with your dealing with hecklers and have now watched the most of your chanle. love your art man, keeping my eyes open to see you in my town again(Ventura CA). You're amazing at what you do, I would love to see this or any of your material live. much love and respect to you man, looking forward to seeing you live.
This was actually really good. I enjoyed the intimate setting, I just wish you did it more often! Definitely different from what you expect from a comedian / performer
Even though I know it's super late to this, Grand Island, Nebraska is called that because the Platte River splits going around it, giving it an island-like appearance
Just to annoy you: Grand Island was an island about 40 to 50 miles long, thus making it grand, between channels in the Platte River. This showed up on maps as early as the 1820's. In the late 1860's, as communities and farms in the Platte Valley thrived, dams were eventually built upstream on the Platte River to prevent seasonal flooding. These dams changed the flow of water in such a way that La Grand Isle is no longer, however other large islands including Mormon Island and Shoemaker Island took its place in the braided river system. None of these are anywhere near the size that Grand Island was.
@Steve Hofstetter I was actually supposed to go to this show but instead I got to spend time with my wonderful, now ex, girlfriend. Looking forward to your next trip over here, to our state filled with dust and bars.
OH even I remember what I was doing on 9/11 and I'm from Hungary. I was in highschool, I just got home, everyone was talking about this weird stuff that I didn't understand, I turned on the TV and it was everywhere.
Hit or miss, but still funny. I've seen your comedy before. I'm more right of center, so I could see why some people wouldn't want to talk to you; but overall you're a sure bet for an entertaining show, and I would still buy tickets to see you. Nice job!
Man you had a hard time with that crowd! I've never watched this one this far in because it was so awkward for a bit and people weren't really getting into it and I have a huge aversion to watching something that gives me that awkward feeling. But now that I'm getting through it... woah it must have been like trudging through mud. Great job dealing with them, though.
My first husband and I were engaged a month after we met and were married 6 month’s after we met. We lasted nearly 10 yrs. His police field training officer introduced me to someone totally opposite from my ex and now he and I have been married for nearly 22yrs. From cop to an extremely bad boy
Can't believe that 23 years 9/11 joke didn't get a reaction. I lost it.
It's just too soon man, too soon....

aiRCoft 16 years is too soon..?
I can't understand why you dont get a lot of reaction.... That wasn't a sentence

it bummed me out that the audience didn't participate very well, Steve was really funny and I don't think they got his humor.

LMAO! I've been suffering 9/11 for 23 years
Good job Steve! Having to continually light a comical fire under such a hum drum crowd isn’t easy.
Its great how when Steve wants the crowd to participate there horrible at it, but when he wants to do his comedy people want to participate lmao

At 15 minutes and this is kinda painful. I wanna laugh so hard but it’s hard when the energy of the crowd ain’t there
Show must go on. He did a good job still.
45 minutes is pretty long for just crowd interactions. The first fifteen were pretty strong
"Nobody's taping in this room" as you stand the room taping yourself lmao.
