Nice video....! I wouldn't give away the W800 because of what other people think of what it is, but instead ..... i would have kept it for what I think!!! To me W800, and even more W650, is a much cooler machine than a modern Triumph Bonneville! But yeah.... keep them both, and have fun! Greetings from Greece
Really good musings today and a very personal choice of course. If it was my choice, the W800 is such a stylish vintage bike and fast enough. I would keep it over the modern heavy "cruiser" T120. If I wanted a bike as close to the old Bonnevilles as possible, but reliable, then the Interceptor stands out as the obvious choice. I really enjoy your videos (from Thailand)!
In 1983 I traded my BSA Rocket 3 for a California Sidecar to fit my 1981 Honda CB900C and to this day i have regretted that! My 2016 Thruxton R did not relieve that regret but my 2020 Bonneville T120 certainly has plus it has put pure pleasure back into riding! Though in honesty in 1965 if I could have afforded the Royal Enfield 750 Interceptor I probably would be lamenting that instead of the BSA. Nonetheless long live British motorcycles, even if they are made in Thailand and India. :>)
Counter steering is the correct term in my mind. Tough choice and not one that could be made due to the bikes. They both are to different to compare just by specs in my opinion. The big benefit of the W800 for me would be the valve train and ease of self maintenance in that area.
I enjoy the sound of this one very much. I have owned two different Honda 450's in the past. The first one was a 1971 DOHC CL450 Scrambler model and those were 180 degree twins. The last 450 I owned was a 1982 SOHC model but these were counterbalanced and far smoother than the old design. The 1982 was a CM450 street model and they also had dual intake valves and thus were twins with a total of 6 valves. The more uneven sounds of the 180 degree twin gave the impression that the CL was more powerful, but in reality the CM with its dual intake valves easily had as much torque and slightly more HP than the old twin cam models. The 1982 CM also had a lovely overdrive 6 speed gearbox which allowed it to have really relaxed RPM cruising at highway speeds. I have often said, since owning that 1982, that if I were more poor and could only own one low cost motorcycle that this bike would be extremely high on my list of desired bikes.
Really nice bikes both of them! I have a W650 and love it, would like to get a Triumph Speedmaster at some point though, for longer rides with the wife.
@@speedtwin1610 that’s the weird thing. The list price is about 9.4K but when they had them in stock they couldn’t sell them and ended up discounting them. Now they can’t get them. I know Orwell Motorcycles have got a 2021 street version with under a 1000 miles on it for about 5.8k, which given the strength of the market seems pretty reasonable.

I shall, thank you

Top advice bud 👍🏻
I admire your decision. But actually the W800 was around in another guise, the BSA A10. Which Meguro/Kawasaki had the rights to build. Hence the W1
Actually, it was the BSA A7.
Really nice bikes both of them!

Love my W650 but do fancy a Triumph 900 Street Cup. Would have to keep both.
I very nearly bought a W650 and still regret it, especially as they keep there value.
There are still some about. The early one at Krazy Horse Bike Night was a real beauty 😊
The T120 every time....
W800 £2500 more than a T120 so not quite double?... anyway keep the T120 😊 I used to work on Kawasaki for a living.........
I got my w800 discounted at 6k and paid 10.5k for the t120 so not quite double
@@TAYM Great price for your w800 my local dealer just quoted me £9k! but then said ya cant get them!😀
