RIP to Paddy Maloney who was the leader of the irish band the Chieftains who helped John Williams with the score of this film including performing much of the score
John Williams literally composed the themes to my childhood and the childhood of many people around the globe, he was there at the latter days of the Golden Age when Herrmann, Steiner and Newman were around and here he is still around composing music in our modern era.
This man is A LEGEND. When he dies; billions will be mourning the loss of this musical GENIUS. He is MAGNIFICENT, and every single bit of music he has written is BEAUTIFUL, chilling, or just plain AMAZING! No score by John Williams is bad, NOT ONE. That's how you know he's LEGENDARY, because only LEGENDS can pull off what he does every single movie he's ever scored, there's no one like him, and I doubt there ever will be another like him. He is truly ONE-OF-A-KIND. And I love him for that. X3
I'm playing this piece with my local symphony on July 4th. I play 2nd horn and I'll say, this song is a beast and those parts very difficult! They nailed it!
John Williams and Irish music go hand in hand, Irish music one of my favourite genres and John Williams is my 2nd favourite film composer, so it's win win
zoltan902 Hi Thanks, i have a Duel of the Fates video. but it's a music video from the bonus DVD included with the Episode III cd. These videso are just music videos with movies scenes. i must check all my williams DVD and see if by any chance a duel of the fates conducted by williams would be there somewhere but i can't warranty that ! anyway, more williams videos will be uploaded during the following days as i plan to upload my whole collection of videos conducted by Williams. so more to come but unfortunatly it will be more on "John williams Conducts ...stuff not composed by him". i have here a John Williams conducts bumble bee ;). there are as well some videos which have big copyright issue with youtube, not sure i'll take the risk to upload them again, like Williams conducting live Indy III in front of the movie. :(
Most people forget this score by John Williams, but it is a masterpiece. Indeed one of his best scores ever.

Usually I would roll my eyes at a comment like this but I can't help but agree.
Such a wonderful piece, and the horns at 0:43 are absolutely phenomenal!

One of my favorites, if not the favorite, of John Willliams' iconic film scores!
