I know everyone on every trance page goes on about the late 90s early 2000s being the best trance years ever.....and as I remember standing amongst thousands of people at Gatecrasher '31.12.99' for the turn of the millennium, I can only say I agree. However, the reason for this I believe was that back then none of us had mobile phones or social media to build an image of our lives for all to see...None of us were out to gain popularity through comments on photos or videos of our life...Trance WAS our life!!! We were in total harmony and unity with each other, because we shared such an intense connection through the experiences we shared at these events. We knew we had no way of ever reliving that moment again, no matter how many photos we took (with our disposable cameras!) I look at shows and festivals online now and see an ocean of people just pointing their phones at the DJ...yet hardly moving...and I just wanna scream at them "Dance!!! Dance, chat, mingle, hug, kiss, hold hands up together...do ANYTHING because you will never get that moment or those feelings back!" Why do you think so many of us oldies moan? Deep down I think we'd give anything just to be that free again. Enjoy your youth and the music you love! Peace!

It is not just the oldies. I'm in my late 20s and I quit social media 4 years ago, and I haven't looked back. Smartphones and social media has ruined society. Live in the moment!

I partied during those times in Toronto Canada and agree. Those were the best days of my life. The music was amazing and the "party favours" were a lot better then aswell 😉

Always appreciated trance even though I was more into hard gabber. Trance always evoked emotions which, on MDMA is what you want. I'm 43 now and me and my wife listened to this last night. Well, neither of us was un-pleasured. We both woke up with huge smiles!!
