Life is Strange is a five part episodic game that sets out to revolutionize story based choice and consequence games by allowing the player to rewind time and affect the past, present, and future.

It’s crazy how realistic this is. Even one different sentence could save someone’s life.
This isn't realistic at all. Nobody is THIS irrational.
The fact you only get ONE chance to save Kate chance is just awful game design in a game that claims to give player's "choices"

I choosen 'Everybody will forget' instead of 'Be strong'. I thought be strong would make her go like 'I'm not strong, I'm weak' and Everybody will forget will make her relieved.

Yep. That's inner demons inside of children, which grow in abusive families. When a child think that everything is alright, good, reasonable, he or she do not believe him/herself. It's actually possible to save Kate without telling her to go to the police, answering her phone call, or stepping up to David. You just need to deliver excuses, like "I'm gathering proof", "It was on silent", and "I was scared", respectively. Those are the only options that will not make her come closer.

Cried joy when I save her.....
As did I. I cried heavily three times during Life is Strange. When I met Chloe after saving Chloe's father, when Chloe and Max find Rachel in the junkyard, and this scene after I was able to save her. One of the most surreal, incredible gaming sequences ever, brilliantly scripted and executed. The fact that you can't rewind time makes every choice critical, and I felt emotionally drained when Kate crumpled into Max's arms.

This game has an amazing voice acting. When Max tells Kate: "Please... you don't have to do this..." you can feel desperation and pain in her voice.
Kate's spirit animal is her rabbit.
Rabbits are sensitive creatures physically and emotionally,like kate.
But that's just a theory. A LIFE IS STRANGE THEORY.
It's an odd dichotomy, I feel like the writing is very weak in some areas, yet the plot writing is done masterfully, and I feel the voice acting makes up for it. Despite some cringey moments I love this game

I saved her and i legit felt like a hero, had no rewind to rely on and i ignored her phone call while i was out with chloe...told her my phone was on silent lol...this game was such an experience
I used my reload checkpoint ability.
It works well when you can’t rewind time.
I just wasn’t able to let her jump.

People hating how “hard” this part is don’t understand the meaning behind it, and it’s actually very disappointing.
There’s two big meanings behind saving Kate:
1. It shows you genuinely care enough about her to remember details about her, one’s that really aren’t hard to miss and/or are reoccurring; if you really care about her, you should know these things no problem.
2. It does a fantastic job on how to realistically talk someone out of a suicide attempt. Telling them the few reasons they live for to reassure and them gets to people in such a vulnerable state.
1 is a great point. When Kate called, Chloe wanted to screw around with Max's rewind power. If a player has put in the effort to talk to Kate, explore her room etc, I don't see why they would choose to not answer Kate's call that lasts what, 30 seconds because Chloe got pissy over Max being there for someone else.
I could understand if a player forgot what they found or don't understand how the game works, otherwise, idk, they may not care that much about Kate. 😬

I genuinely saved her the first time with no guide, I remember reading the message from her father, and I guess I sort of thought, if I was in here situation what would I want someone to do, Reassure me, make me feel like someone is there for me, give me hope etc.
I'm feeling so shitty for not have been able to save her at first...

I love this scene just because of how you lost control over your powers. It really captures just how powerless Kate, and to an extent Max, feels in this situation.

I love the audio design of this scene. Nothing but the gentle rain and very quiet, angelic singing. It's just you, Kate, and one wrong sentence away from God. It really makes this more intense and drastic when you don't have orchestral swells behind you.

What Max says when you select "Be Strong" is not what I expected her to say at all. I really wish they showed more of the dialog like in Fallout 3/New Vegas.
To save Kate choose the Matthew Proverb. It's her favorite verse.
I'm so glad you're able to save Kate, it was horrible when she died in my playthrough. I tried to go back to previous checkpoint but since it created a new checkpoint at the principal's office I couldn't. I then replayed the second episode and saved Kate. It'd suck if there was no way to save her.
If you saved Kate on your first try, please know that you are such an amazing person and among the few pure hearts in this world

When she died, I was so tempted to go back and redo the episode but I wanted to see how her death would affect the rest of the story, I will never let her die ever again
I have ZERO desire to see the alternatives...I got hella lucky and said all the right things the first time even as i came yay close to breaking my controller in my hands
Had a dream about this last night. Except I wasn't Max, I was me. I was still able to save her. And it looked just like this with the time freezing effect. This is just a very heart touching moment to me. Even if she is fictional, I'm glad I was able to save her in my game, and in my dream.
I was able to save her by telling her that her sisters still care. Kate said she didn't want to make her sisters sad.
this is the best moment in the game,i never cried and had so many chills like that moment.

You know how good it feels to save someone and hold em in your arms as she cries out all her pain as you hold her. Instead of letting her suffer, but giving so much compassion and care is something she could ever feel. Until the pain is over, can smile again

The game makes you quote her fav bible verse if you picked the wrong speech at any point. You have to pick Mathew.
The thing that gets me is the fact that saving Kate doesn't mean anything if you choose Chloe in the end. She still dies by the storm. And honestly, I'd rather save Kate than Chloe because at least she didn't boss me around and then try to make me feel like a sour puss because I didn't want to steal charity money. Life Is Strange should've been more about Kate than Rachel. Uncovering Nate and Jeffersons secrets through exploring Kate's issues. And something I would've loved is if Max ended up teaming up with David and realizing he's not a bad guy earlier on. And choosing Arcadia Bay in the end should've resulted in Max calling out Chloe's behavior.
I can relate to Kate in some way. Her being bullied and all. And got to a point in saying "I wish I wasn't born".
But at least some people helped me to deal with being bullied.

I did all of these options on my first play through and at the end, I had to pick another option not shown in this video about bible quotes. Did I miss something?
This scene was so nerve racking because I really, really, REALLY wanted to save Kate. I don't think I've ever been so emotionally invested in an outcome in my gaming life. Fortunately, I've played point and click adventure games since the 90s, so I'm used to pixel hunting for obscure clues and managed to talk her down. Still, talking her down was intense.

I remember when I lost Kate is felt like I lost a real friend. This game hits so damn hard on emotions. All the way through it's series.

To rewind if Kate kills herself, turn on your PC, Xbox or whatever your playing right before she jumps. It makes you redo the scene. I saw Kate kill herself 4 times before I turned to UA-cam for help
I luckily saved her first try. When I replayed the game I actually wanted to let her die to see what the game would be like, but I found myself literally unable to let her die. I just couldn't let her jump. She's way too precious.

Omg.... I just found a way to save kate marsh.... Without rewinding the whole episode.... So... After kate marsh got killed.... Reset episode 2.... Then after you take a shower... You go to main menu and play episode 3... Its done
Well, Kate committed suicide and I don't want to go back. Just want to follow the story from this perspective. I can later reset and follow story when Kate is saved.
