Can I just say well done to Chloe for not losing her cool when Rachel went off script? She stayed true to the position of her character. She didn't panic, which would've led her off track. Despite having not attended a single rehearsal, or even knowing ANYTHING about the Tempest, she killed it. I'm so impressed with her.

Some people are saying they feel there's inconsistency because Rachel sleeps with Frank and possibly Mr. Jefferson, but I think it's totally consistent.
Rachel is complicated. She may love Chloe, but she is also using Chloe from the moment they ditch school. She's even admitting it here -- "in service to my schemes."
And Rachel has a dark side so strong it even astonishes Chloe every time she sees it -- throwing the bottle, the fire, breaking the table, stabbing Damon, etc. It's a trait she inherits from her mother, along with hey ability to be all things to all people.

She was also more than likely just using Frank and Jefferson for possibly both her and Chloe. Frank cause they probably had another debt she might have wanted out of, and Jefferson might be because of his connections, a hope that he could get her in touch with people in Los Angeles. And Nathan might have been for the same reason as what Chloe did, an attempt to get money out of him that went horribly wrong. In the end though she seemed loyal to Chloe.

Not to mention one outcome he breaks samanthas ribs and the fact she isnt in the first game. His first kill perhaps?

This is the most Rachel way ever to open up to Chloe lmao. Though of course veiled through theatric melodrama and artifice, Rachel is being sincere about how she feels about Chloe
This scene alone tells you everything about Rachel
“I never said how dearly I hold thee, my habit’s been to keep my soul well draped”
The jist of the conversation is Rachel can sense Chloe is getting tired of the shenanigans and just wants to know if Rachel cares about her without the all the teen rebellion, in classic Rachel fashion she’s says “indulge me for a little longer and we’ll be together” basically and I really think she believes it
Rachel doesn’t want to fully commit to Chloe but she also doesn’t want to see her move on with someone else and she says this in a way that’s almost possessive.
She’s such a fascinating, conflicted character. She stands up for Chloe, gets stabbed for her, so she loves Chloe back to some degree but she’s just too many things to too many different people to fully commit.
She’s somewhere between sketchy, manipulative would be lover and charismatic dream girlfriend. I’d say Rachel is actively indecisive (tries to choose everything but picks nothing) and this is her fatal flaw whereas Max is passively indecisive (doesn’t want to make the wrong choice doesn’t choose)
Simply put, Rachel isn’t emotionally equipped to love Chloe back in a way that’s healthy. Their dynamic is skewed because Rachel has all the power whereas Max is a moral check on Chloe but Chloe gets Max out of her shell

so i did The Tempest at school, here's my 2c.
Prospero is basically the writer's stand in: a tired old man with incredible power to affect the story however he wishes. Rachel Amber is similar in that she's tired of her life, but both wish that they could return to some earlier life. Rachel with her family and Prospero in Milan. by the end of the play, Prospero realises he can never really go back, and Rachel looks forward to her short future with Chloe. (as a side note, Rachel as Prospero lends a lot of weight to the theory that Rachel had powers, and that she caused the forest fire with them, not just tipping over a bin)
Ariel is Prospero's servant, but a beloved one. a lot of modern productions paint this as an abusive relationship, which is a valid reading, but not one particularly useful when looking at it in the context of Chloe and Rachel. Prospero saved Ariel from imprisonment by Sycorax, a violent parental figure, maybe symbolising Chloe's step-dad. additionally, sycorax is actually dead by the time Prospero frees Ariel, so there's a shared theme of dead parents.
"I will not see thee flying forth alone. the envy would be more than I could bare" is more packed with meaning than vitamins in a gummy. in the play, Ariel is introduced offering his magical services to Prospero, specifically, flight. Prospero gets his powers from his books, his staff, and his relationship to the fairies of the island, he has no intrinsic sorcery like Ariel does, he only gets that which he can take. in the same way, Rachel envies Chloe's social freedom, in being an outcast she can do what she wants, while Rachel has to deal with the pressures of the world. and just as Prospero needs Ariel for magic, Rachel needs Chloe for her freedom.
Prospero frees Ariel at the end of the Tempest, but Rachel's off-script moment strengthens their bond as a romantic one, not as one of a master and servant. her Prospero refuses to let go of Ariel, refuses to let go of the past, and wants to drag the present into the future with her, a move which is ultimately doomed to fail.

For me? It sort of feels like both. I feel sympathy because the kid is basically an outcast, even within the ranks of his own family. And I feel empathy because you can sense the hurt and isolation the boy obviously feels.

I sincerely think that Nathan accidentally gave her too big of a dose and killed her, maybe that is why Jefferson decided to kill him.

"Of course, mistress... most truly it is so."
"Then why, i pray you, wish you to be free?"
"Excitement's... a mere... counterfeit of bliss. This storms and these adventures? I prefer... to know... thou still cared for my... plainest self."
"I have thee in my grasp; i will not bend. I will not see thee flying forth alone! The envy would be more than i could bear."
"So come with me! Is that not in thy power?"
"Spirit, take my hands, most faithful friend.
For but a little longer i beseech; continue in thy service to my schemes. And when they are complete, i swear to thee-- we shall fly beyond this isle -- the corners of the world our mere prologue. I'll seek to make thy happiness so great that e'en the name of liberty's forgot. What sayest thou to my most hopeful wish?"
