What?! - Nooo! RIP, I always loved this and "Dusks" Line Up.
the drum sound this masterpiece always deserved
Lyrics:
Hear Me now!
All crimes should be treasured if they bring thee pleasure somehow...
Maleficent in dusky rose
Gathered satin lapped Her breasts
Like blood upon the snow
A tourniquet of Topaz
Glistened at Her throat
Awakening, pulled from the tomb
Her spirit freed eclipsed the moon
That She outshone as a fallen star
A regal ornament from a far flung nebular
Her likeness hung in the black gallery
Commanding unease
Demanding of Death to breathe...
Midst the whirl and daylight fauna
Of society at court
Elizabeth bedazzled, Her presence sought applause
Though Her torchlit shadow
Thrown upon damp cellar walls
Greeted nothing but despair from slaves Her nights enthralled
Thirteen Winter solstices had shown
Her path, that the dark
Had marked its dominion
Spaying the confessor
Whose caresses she'd known,
As whipcord in the House of Dog
Her cold cunt meat on holy bone
Raped of faith, She now embraced
The narcissistic unrest frozen on the mirror's face
With this disdain, inside these veins
(Highborn wanton that She was)
She sought to keep what age would claim
Her soul was sold and for this toll
Reeking pyres ever smouldered
On the whims of one so in control
Elizabeth, mysterious.
Cruelty brought thee orchids
From the bowels of the abyss
Once upon atrocity when midwitches stifled cries
And carved abortive runes in reddened wombs
Exhumed by scrying eyes
Madness came upon
Her like an amourous lover's seed
Lifesblood splashed upon Her skin
In gouts torture unleashed
And to Her dead reflection
Twas as if Her pallor gleamed
Like an angel's warmed by candles
Where erotic stains had cleaved
So demons dragged this libertine
Lusts screaming for release
Upon the flesh of maidens preened
As canvas for caprice
Exacting obeisance
Her gaze held a seance
Of spirits too trapped under glass to commune
A sleeter mistress than Luna
Whose threats to consume Her
Met with torments giving vent to Her swoon
Flat on Her back
Pack-prey for the reams
Of verses and curses
That haunted Her dreams
Midnightmare chimed
Thirteen in Her mind
A disciple of scars
Branded years hissed behind
Ridden split-thighed
By the Father of lies
An ovation of wolves
Blushed the skies as they writhed
But Heaven is never forever
She came, a spent storm
From the clouds...
Leaving serpents in office
Inside every gate
To lick righteous holes
Blinding Lords to the fate
Of virgins forced naked
To defile on rent knees
Hacked and racked backwards
Menses choking their pleas
"More. Whore. More.
Twitching make me wet with thee
Carcass rub me raw"
And to Her dead reflection
Twas as if Her pallor gleamed
Like an angel's warmed by candles
Where erotic stains had cleaved
So demons dragged this libertine
Lusts screaming for release
Upon the flesh of maidens preened
As canvas for caprice
Raped of faith, She now embraced
The narcissistic unrest frozen on the mirror's face
With this disdain, inside these veins
(Highborn wanton that She was)
She sought to keep what age would claim
Her soul was sold and for this toll
Reeking pyres ever smouldered
On the whims of one so in control
Elizabeth, mysterious.
Cruelty brought thee orchids
From the bowels of the abyss
From the bowels of the abyss
what a poetry
Best song 4ever
CoF age like a fine wine
Nicholas Barker is so good it's unreal
Rest in Power, Stuart. This gem proves you ALWAYS will be remembered!
My best cradle of filth album 🤘🏻👁
Dusk too :)
And Vempire
my 2nd best ! Dusk and her embrace reign forever for me!
Dusk
Midian es la biblia compadre
I listened to the original 100 million times in the past 20 years, here's to another 100 million you musical geniuses!!
I listened to it 100million times and still dont know what they saying but still love it
@@JohnSmith-ve3roare you serious? You know you can read the lyrics right? And the whole album is about the life of Elizabeth Bathory
1:37 20 years later, and it's still one of my favorite brutal growls of all time
Weeeeeey
Songs like these are what cement Nick Barker in the halls of drummer metaldom now and always 😎
Brings back high school memories. This album was so good that non-metal lover classmates were listening this.
Sarah is sounding good on this one the tone of her voice is so beautiful
Arguably the best song they've ever written.
There's nothing to argue about when your statement is correct!
It's not even one of their top 5
Bathory Aria tho
I'd say in their top 5
They put on a hell of a performance of this when I saw them live a few years ago
this is how it always sounded like in my head
yeah man, like, now im starting to feel like "wow i have super-average hearing? thats not possible, i maimed my eardrums listening to too much COF and blackmetal at past-max volume for years, what;s this REMASTERED thing? im listening REALLY HARD, and i STILL make out every single note and tatter in it
my soul love them
Really, it always sounded this dry in your head? Never sounded like this in mine. I just imagined a bit more drums, but not this...whatever it is.
my favorite song and will always be....twisted nails of faith...song of death and reborn!
I love how he says "narcississtic", bloody classic this one
R.I.P Stuart Anstis such an amazing guitarist
Holy shit this remaster sounds incredible.
ya you can say that again
FINALLY, you can hear EVERY instrument, AND the backing vocals! And Dani's vocals are more RAW in this version, which only adds to the overall perfection that is the remix and remaster of the BEST album ever conceived!
This metal is so black, I almost expected Dani to rap.
We are really lucky, that apparently the original multitracks were still around. Which is usually not very likely for bands that are not on a major label.
COF is fucking perfect dude. Yes I love this version. Was listening on Spotify and said fuck that shit.UA-cam sounds just as good
@@RobertDunn310 Speaking of rap. I still want Dani and Eminem to collaborate lol.
I missed out on the first few years of COF but THIS song was one of the first I heard and I latched onto it... it ticks every damn happy box and I love playing up over eleven and singing along while driving :D
remaster is so good even the cover girl is pleased
r.i.p. stuart anstis
One of the greatest songs ever created.
That kick drums, that bass, that voice. The original was already so rich and complex, yet it got even better. Take my money COF.
1:36 STILL to this day all these years later gives me massive goosebumps...one of my all time fave guitar riffs 👊
SAME.
Agree!
Demanding of Death to BREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEATH
It is an incredible riff
OMG ITS LIKE HEARING IT FOR THE FIRST TIME ALL OVER AGAIN !!! almost!
That's why is my favourite band.
I WANT MORE PLEASE
This is cradle of filths masterpiece, I remember this album great times.
oh thix muisc loves my soul so much i cant get enough i want so much more please
They honestly haven't come close since, even with that full orchestra
This just firms up what a badass piece of a drummer Nicholas Barker is. one of the best they've ever had IMHO. Absolute masterpiece.
Gian pyres on guitar and martin powell on keyboards too
@@nickynick3527 Stuart is the guy who wrote the guitar parts
@@nickynick3527 Totally an awesome lineup
@@lukeskywalkerjediknight2.013 that whoke freaking lineup was badass for cruelty and the beast, its crazy how martin left my dying bride to be with cradle
@@nickynick3527 Is your bride dead now?
this was one of my fav albums of all time, but this,,,,
simply wow...
If this sounded like this back in '98, there would have been a lot of sympho-black bands that would have quit their careers. This album simply can't be beaten, the sheer amount of atmosphere, dread and and epicness. And now this fat, tasty sound. So glad they remixed it, glorious work.
You act like emperor and septic flesh don't exist.
@@spongebitchbobface They do ... but. Back in '98 CoF would have laughed them out of the room :)
@@spongebitchbobface I personally never liked septic flesh, but I definitely respect them and their work.
@@draganovm
2:20 "Raped of Faith" low growl is my favorite part.
oh my just love it
the best album forever.. change my life
This is really one of best pieces ever written
Finally! Cardboard drums have been repaired and now it kicks! Sounds so much better now.
This song is a masterpiece. Just absolutely rules.
Music gives me the chills and my hair on my arms I standing up.
Cradle got me through alot of hard times and still does 🎭
This is how I always imagined one of my favorite albums. Fantastic remaster.
25 years of this absolute genius display of darkness.
4:13 is a beautiful passage and Dani's screams are epic beyond belief then Nick's rolls. Holy Vampyres this is glory.
Hands down one of CoFs best songs. \m/💀\m/
Beautiful dark poetry and melodic mayhem ..... Perfection incarnate !
I will blast this till my ears bleed and it still won't be loud enough.
1 : my best album
2 : my best track
The re-mix and master I didn't know I needed!
An absolute masterpiece of an album
This is like a dream come true!!
I was literally crying hearing this remastered. So many years with this album and now such discovery !
I agree entirely, I was so excited when I found the remaster. Ive wanted this for years!
Old school 😈🤘🏾
what lovely music
Love hearing more of Sarah here!
Moses Swedberg yes but she s out of synch at 3:00 😒
@@kelvinhpr3886 Yeah, they clearly fucked the remix there.. or it was broken in the original (covered up in loads of reverb and effects) and they won't fix it, because it is unlikely that a sound eng wasn't able to pick that obvious defect.
@@kelvinhpr3886 Not really, she got it perfectly
Shtersea Zvarak hum no. Its fucking out of sync.
that's really questionable
Best COF song ever, and in my top 5 all songs for sure!
Growen up with these amazing songs of "Cradle of Filth" and still love these tracks. One of my favorite ones!
Just realized this album was released on my 21st birthday😅, what a gift from my favorite metal band!
One of the best metal songs ever and Cradle of Filth's best album!! 🤘🤘🤘🤘 I saw them live in 2005 and jezebel was still in the band so I got to see her too ❤️❤️❤️❤️
God these guys will always be in my top 5 all time favorite goth bands!
All these years later i STILL get crazy goosebumps and almost brings me tears i fucking LOVE this track \m/
Metallica is just fine .. they are FOREVER and Their fanbase has shown that
wow, a new dimension of this masterpiece
Este cd es una chingonada.. escucharlo de noche a toda madre
Nice Epic story from our beloved Elizabeth. Greetings from Slovakia.
Greetings from the U.S.
This is REAL gothic music...my old high school friend Theo used to think they were lame. :/ So glad I finally saw them live. >:)
- Andrew. (Drewcifer)
Album is a masterpiece
@Felipe Gomes the original Cruelty And The Beast album
Sin duda el mejor álbum y la mejor historia de condesa Bathory
Thanks a lot Dani for Remixed and Remastered this Masterpiece of Metal!!!! Sound amazing!!!
Ohhhh my.... 1 November.... Crazy day.... This is pure perfection
Holy shiiiit the drums are amped, fucking solid
R.I.P. Original Mix
Amazing work on drums! They finally get what they deserve! Well done!
IKR!
Nick Barker forever
Yes, sound so much better on this remaster. tbh they were they worst part of the original (production-wise), these have more punch and the snares sound great!
De las mejores canciones que se han escrito nunca.
Not bad, although the original mix had somewhat of a deeper, melancholic atmosphere to it I'm just in love with. Yet, you can really listen to the guitars and the vocals in this version. Way better job than most "remasters" these days
Can't believe they are playing this album in FULL on the upcoming US tour.
Saaaame man...I'm still in shock. If they could throw in A Gothic Romance and perhaps a few others from Dusk...And Her Embrace its going to be killer. We're thinking of going to Dallas since it's the closest to where I live in Arkansas. Hope you can make it man!!!🤘🏽😄 I have a feeling it's going to be unforgettable.
Me either! 3 more days until I see them in Harrisburg! I’m so stoked!
I really think they should play it with the Cruelty lineup (including Sarah)
I can’t believed I missed the date in my city by two weeks 😩😩😩 I’m so butt hurt
@@MissMiaAfroGoddess it was insane. Sorry you missed it. Check out my Cradle video from the show...
una obra de arte que bellos matice s y combinacion de generos liricos
3:02 I love these bits. Awesome balance between raw and warm and nice that the girl's voice is more to the front in the new mix. Can't wait to see you in Eindhoven!
Cruelty and Dusk forever embraced. pure art. fantastic. the more you listen, the more you understand. Their albums were books. I had the album with the lyrics in a little book. Reading that and listening to the music is a memory forever.
This song has haunted me ever since I bought the CD in '99...
👻
Born in a burial gown was my first ever COF song back during my College days. Never forgot COF after that lol. I even had an uncensored video of that song I guess.
Can’t believe this iconic album is old enough to drink
🤘😈🤘
Yo I don’t care if it was none,if you can’t see the heinous in cradle, you are not human/demon,
I am from hell and we are legion,we all listen to cradle of filth, some of my best evil,I learned from cradle
Drums amazing
Glad I got to see them just after this album was released. 1999, in Massachusetts.
NEVER gets old!!! How I miss Adrian..
Rimmsa Adrian wasn't in the band during Cruelty though.
A regal ornament from a far flung nebulaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaar
Her likeness hung in the black gallery commanding unease demanding Death to breathe.
How amazing is this?!
This is the first song I've heard of COF when I was very young. I listened this in my old Sony Discman, a friend gave me a CD with metal music and this was the first song. I became a Fan instantly. It's one of my favorite even now.
And Justice for Nick. Awesome drum sound !
This sounds so flipping good !
indeed. justice for nick
Is it still nicks drumming? How does it sound so much different?
@@munsonite17 yes it's him
Nick is beast! :)
@@Amendatu he's a beast.
my soul loves this stuff so much wants so more
Sencillamente, una obra maestra.
1:35 is when this song goes from good to best song on the album. 2nd beat album after dusk.
Cradle of filth Forever! COF is One of the Brutal Black Gothic Band! Eargasm to Me
Im glad i saw cradle in 2001 when gian pyres who was guitar on this album and martin powell on keyboards played with them at the palladium in hollywood, they were young and badass
After So many years.. Still the same power 🖤🖤🖤🖤🖤
The vocals sound awesome 👏
The was the first COF song I ever heard. It has a special place in my heart.
Same.
My skin crawls every time I play this song. I absolutely love the guitar riffs.
Same here
Best ever,after that comes nothing
Yes!!
I love this remix. Everything sounds so much better
I lissen to this, close my eyes, smile in my face, it feels like drug!!!! This is so gooooood
Muy buena banda!! Saludos desde Argentina
Good tune.
Magnánimo discaso por mucho uno de los discos joyas del black metal y que pusieron al género un peldaño arriba
Man the bass is killer on the new track!
Paraphrase man the bass are killer on this remastered track
New?
Well yeah it's obviously not new but the new version of the old song is new
Ive been loving this song for a long time
Rest in peace, Stuart Anstis 😭😭😭🎸
Maybe Nicholas Barker would have never left the band if the final sound it would have been this. Drums really sounds complete
Favorite Cradle song. The part around 3:10 is so good
"Hear me now! All crimes should be treasured if they bring thee pleasure somehow"
Such an epic intro and the only one who could pull it off was Caroline Caz in live performances, like... no other female vocalist comes close to her.
This is Sarah not Caroline Caz
@@lukeskywalkerjediknight2.013 I know, that's why I said "the only one who could pull it off", in reference to the shows Caroline did during her time with Cradle. Sarah wasn't good live.
Finally Nicolas's drums!!!!!!!!
Even though we’re talking about some wonderful drumming, it doesn’t sound like Nick. For instance, listen to the passage at 5:28 (the break) and compare it with the original... not the same line.
Got lucky and managed to get a autograph from Nick when he was on tour with Dimmu. Total beast on drums
@@helderalmeida3194 if its not Nick then whoever recorded it did a nice Nick impression for sure kept it very close to his drumming.
@@helderalmeida3194 Sounds identical to me. They did say in an interview that nothing was re-recorded.
Holy shit that sounds good!
This remastered is so amazing 🖤 lotta memories
