- A combination of heat and humidity can cause rearview mirror bracket buttons to lose their adhesion properties. This may cause them to detach from the windshield, leaving you without a rearview mirror. Dont feel helpless, simply replace it yourself. Learn how to permanently bond an old or new rearview mirror bracket button in minutes by watching this step-by-step instructional video.

This stuff is the BEST. WAY better than the JB kit. This kit comes with an adhesive pouch instead of the the adhesive tube now. I think this new adhesive works great as I had ZERO issues with this kit. Successful and will recommend to all my friends in the future.
Fell off as soon as I hung the mirror. Let it dry a week before attempt. Followed exact directions. 30 years ago I use to do these in the body shop all the time. So I’m no noob to this. Trying the JB stuff now.
How did JB work for you ?
Even worse. Touched it and it fell off.
Any luck after all these years?
Thank you do much! Thanks to you I fixed my mirror 🪞
Lord so I need a new mount button if glass is stuck on it ? At the moment I do not have a review mirror
Didn’t work for me. I let the button with adhesive sit overnight before putting the mirror on the next morning. It fell off by the time I got off work that day.
I saw the instructions and this stuff does not want to Sure fast enough. The guy at the store even told me to wait 24 hours. I put it on in the morning and came back in the evening and wanted to put the mirror on it and it came completely off my window. The previous commenter said that it expires, that's pretty crappy to hide that information. Maybe it didn't cure because I bought an expired kit?
I gotta say i may have lucked out, based on the previous comments, because the mirror seems to be holding on. I will update if things change.
Thanks for the update !
Yea very helpful
Any updates? 😂
@rammbostein Been 4 years. How is it holding up?
Does not work very well. I used and 2 months later the internal mirror falls off.
What if i dont have the activator towlet.
if you don't use towelette. it won't hold. that's part 2 of the epoxy mixture. if you do it right it will work bro.
Why isn't the expiration date written on the packaging clearly written instead of in code? According to Permatex, the kit has a 2 year expiration date.
I will find out soon enough.
Is this video from 90s
1981 when the kit was $2.25
Agreed, pure junk. I've used this kit twice now and the dumb thing keeps falling off... Keep your money. I'm going with the JB Weld kit to see if that actually holds up for more than 10 min.
Did JB work?
@@DerTarchinPro Yeah, been over a year, Jb weld seems to hold up this far.
Didnt work.
Try clear gorilla glue 👍
This stuff DOES NOT HOLD a rearview mirror to a windshield. It will last for a few weeks, but it eventually falls off. There must be a better product out there.
I just had the same problem. I just wasted $15
What did you go with?
It doesn't work!!! It will fall off!!!?
Let it sit for 48 hours.
sounds like you didn't properly use your ACTIVATOR TOWELETTE!
oh yeah? when will it fall. I fixed mine and it ain't going no where. if you do it right. this is a decent kit. actually I didn't get the kit. I just got the epoxy and activator cloth and alcohol pad. I had a little fine sandpaper. and extra alcohol pads. mine turned out fine. I let it dry overnight. 2 nights I think+very important to mark position of mirror. I marked and measured. it works great
@@chefkdowg true. I let mine cure 48 to 72 hours. it works better doing it 48+indeed
mine hasn't fell off. gotta be very carful and follow instructions+ put activator on glass and button.
The new type kit is pure garbage awful product.
This product is GARBAGE AS FUCK!
