Yes it’s absolutely worth it to visit Madagascar. I went there back in 2011. Wildlife is absolutely stunning there as well as landscapes. And I took an Air Madagascar 737-300 (they retired it) that was banned from flying in the EU but I had no issues (maybe I was lucky) and at that time their only way to desserve Paris was to lease an Air Italy 767. I agree it’s not the safest place to visit. The main tip when I went was to not go outside at night, just stay in your hotel. Although someone stole my phone in the street on the first day of my stay but this happens in Europe. But note that it’s far easier if you speak French. As a french I had obviously no communication issues but I don’t really know for a non French speaking person. Anyway I still think you must go there it’s a really beautiful country and review Air Mad, they are currently modernizing their fleet !

I last flew from London to Mauritius in December 1999 to celebrate the Millennium. I flew on an Air Mauritius A340; quite possibly on one of the two remaining which they've had in their fleet since 1997. I remember that the inside temperature of the aircraft remained uncomfortably hot for the entire flight, whereas the flight home was freezing cold! I also spotted Bruce Grobbelaar on the outwardflight; the former Liverpool goalkeeper who at that time was still playing, but for Northwich Victoria. He was probably returning home to his native South Africa, or maybe Zimbabwe, where he grew up. Mauritius is a great and relaxing place to visit, with wonderful scenery, people and food.

I use the call button if I need to, when I'm flying and I fly business. It's NOT a question of whether the pax should use it. The call button is there for the convenience of the pax, and if a pax should need it, they have every right to use it and get good service. I never use it during meal service or 30 min before of after.
Great sounding aircraft, no rattling or creaking in the cabin on takeoff that I could hear.

Our new A350. Im Mauritian Josh and my wife is from Madagascar. We live in Mauritius and next week we will go there for holidays in our brand new A330 neo. Its true that it is a bit risky some places but over all a very beautiful country to visit

Air Mauritius just stopped their service to Amsterdam a few weeks/months ago. They did it code sharing with KLM but no luck so they decided to stop the service. Sadly tho it was always nice seeing those a340's in Amsterdam

I will rather live in Madagascar 🇲🇬 than live in Mauritius inspite of everything, because it is a country with a larger landmass. Small island countries tend to suffer from a lot of weather issues, e.g hurricanes and typhoons almost every year. Now that is terrifying to me.
Cabin staff should be around at all times. Especially on a 4 hour flight I think there is no excuse, so fully on your side! Being a small airline they should do better! Well done friend, kind regards from New Zealand!

Air Mauritius flew 25 October 2019 for the last time to Amsterdam, they stopped flying the route citing the competition from middel eastern carriers was to big ..
Nice look inside. Personally, I hate using the call button and would exhaust all options before I do it. Sadly, appears they're ignoring you. Not sure about Airbus, but Boeing wide bodies have a panel in the galleys that indicate that the call button is pressed and which seat... I imagine hard to miss.

I am like you, I really use the call button. I go to the galley if I need something and I have a small chat if someone has time. For me pushing the call button is like calling a servant.
Madagascar is a nice place but you must keep you belongings very safe because there are pick pockers but still it is a very nice place

TTL stands for Taxi, Takeoff and Landing. I.e, the position the seat must be in for these events.
Delta operates A350 and A330-900 also. Launch customer for the -900 I believe.

Hi Cutie, did they ever respond to your call, you did not say. I'm missing the bathroom tour. You seemed very comfortable, great vlog. Does the lounge have showers or resting areas if you need wait long between transfers?
I often see those lovely salt & pepper shakers in business class. Are they one use items? Can the passenger take them home?
Flown Air Mauritius many times (in tourist class). The cabin crew are lazy and the reason they didn't answer the call button was because they were probably too busy buffing their nails. I've known people who have asked for water in first class and they're told to get up and get it themselves, basically.
IFE boxes are placed by your feet, therefore taking away space that your feet could use (It's obviously cheaper that way).
Movies are on a loop, so when you click on one, you invariably come in right in the middle of the film.
Once, they forgot my special diet meal, so I went 12 hours with zero food.
Unfortunately, I still have to use them because BA don't fly direct but I've learnt my lesson and ALWAYS take plenty of my own food on board as a backup. Even if they do have my food, they give you a meal about 2 hours into the flight and "breakfast" about 2 hours before you land, so there's this massive 8 hour gap where you get absolutely nothing, so my own nibbles come in very handy (as well as getting me jealous looks from other passengers).

He was born in Australia, he migrated to Germany with his family when he was younger. That’s why he has both Australian and German Passport. Also that’s why he has Australian accent. :)

@@AD-jq7ow one out of the 3 a350s that are in SAA's current fleet with another 1 coming before year end to make it 4 was received from air Mauritius, also so much goes into the experience than just the aircraft itself.
