  • After Driving my lifted Subaru for 2 years, and having the off road abuse tear though my bushings. It was time for me to Install ADF Subframe spacers.
    These Subaru Multi-link Spacers make the lift kit function perfectly
    Anderson Design and Fab also sold me some SPC adjustable control arms. Which i am excited to try out.

    We from the north are experienced in broken bolts and just expect to just replace the bolts anyways so I just cut them off with a torch and then after they cook thread them out with a pair of knipex pliers or weld a nut on. So yes put anti seize on every bolt and torque every thing to the lubed spec and then when you take your Subaru apart again you still thank yourself for making it easy on yourself.

    Great video mate, I feel your pain, I've just done my 05 Outback, what a pain in the arse job that was 🤔😂, a lot of people say why bother ? but it's a Subi thing and unless you own one you won't understand, I wouldn't trade mine for anything, absolutely love it. Greetings from Australia.

    Ya Patrick makes some good stuff but the way the sub frame connects always bothered me. Especially since everyone else uses a single large bolt.
    Good job on finding out what makes a Subaru a Subaru though.. Rust(:

    I raised the front seat-tracks with rectangular steel tubing and the dealer mechanics said it was "un-safe". I used new gr 9 hardware. ("un-approved" modification)

    That is something I would of changed over all the years , is the exhaust going under the axel and not over . I have a 2009 Impreza and
    a 2024 Outback and their still that way . We all know you can only go as deep as your lowest part of the car . I laugh when I see trucks
    jacked up a foot and you look under them and they only clear 8 inches at best .

    Hi Adventure GT, huge thanks for sharing your experience !
    I seem that you run your 2" lift Subaru with front Tacoma shock without sub-frame spacer for last two years, Tacoma
    Thank you in advance !

    • @AdventureGT
      @AdventureGT  2 роки тому

      That's correct. The adjustable control arms made that possible. But the sub frame drop spacers are way better and worth the money. It also makes installing the Tacoma shocks easier and less prone to taking damage!

    every subaru guy in my country says you can lift 3-5 cm without any additional suspension replacements. going further needs suspension upgrades

    • @AdventureGT
      @AdventureGT  Рік тому +1

      I would agree with 3cm of lift, needing nothing else.
      But trust me going any higher you will start putting alot of stress on your suspension.

    Great video man! I've been watching all I can to get ready for installing an SLO 2" kit on my 04 LL Bean outback. The subframe spacers are wigging me out, looks pretty damn complicated! Your baja looks great. Where did you get that front bumper though? I can't find anything for this gen!!

      @@AdventureGT got any tips for the front end subframe spacers? I heard there's a JIS screw that's a huge PITA to get out

    • @AdventureGT
      @AdventureGT  Рік тому

      Sorry I do not. I don't remove a JIS screw at all. Other then pull and pray. I'f your subie is rust free you should be good. But if it's seen a few winters. Prepare to have a few extra days for drilling.
      Another guy I now took his interior apart and cut access holes in the Unibody to soak the bolts in PB blaster.

    What's up man. Fellow bajaer here. What are you running for the front subframe? My baja is lowered. But my 01 forester is lifted around 4 inch. I have rallitek rear subframe drop, but nothing for the front. Got a pretty bad control arm angle droop

      Not currantly running a front sub frame drop. Not having issues. But another member of the baja company just took 2" square steel tubing. Drilled holes and got longer bolts. Took care of there issue no problem. Just had to make a spacer for the steering shaft.

      I've got a 2005 Legacy as a reserve car, and for that I think 35mm(≈1 3/8 inch)spacers will do fine. I just want it a bit more "Outbacky"😊
      My daily driver, a 2014 Forester XT, will probably get a proper 2" lift with all needed spacers. It's hard to find stuff in Europe, but I found one kit that looks good.
