Cool painting! Nice summary of what to look for in photos. I often put myself in the position of trying to determine whether a photo reference given to me to paint is 1) something that is a challenge to learn from 2) or a way to set my up to failure which then kills my spirit to start the "next" one and causes me to second guess my skills. Also is it possible to show your reference on the screen while you're painting. I find it helpful when I can see how you interpret what you see. Just a thought....
