If a passenger calls you before you get there and they are even the least bit verbally abusive, eat the hit on your acceptance rate and cancel them. You will more than likely get a one-star if you actually pick them up.

My ratings dropped a lot, but I was also driving mostly at night. Those people can be really strange.

It's better to drive at night because they are not expecting you to smile at night.
It's true. I have a 4.93 and I don't offer water/juice/candy/gum. I ask passengers how their day/evening/night is going, respond accordingly and get them where they are going. The only thing that I do when I drop them off is ask them if they have their phones, wallets, keys ext, and tell them to have a good day/evening/night. But that's about all I do.
Our job is get people from point A to point B. We are NOT a Limo service.
You are so right I barely talk to my riders because they really don't want to talk. And the ones that do want to have a conversation will talk to me lol. It's that simple
I just be normal and they give me 5 starts most of the time
No gum. Wrapped starlight mints. Those are easier to get out of the mats if someone leaves them behind. Get the water at Aldi if you have stores in your area. Mine charges $1.99 for 24 bottles of purified water or $2.79 for spring water. I've gotten $10.00 tips and instant 5-star ratings just for having water available.
Great tips man! Most of this is universal but people can be different for every market. Here in GA people like the Southern charm/hospitality (Warm welcome, good convo, etc.). A lot of people here also don't understand the rating system (some think 4 stars is still okay). I agree you shouldn't kiss booty but I put some professional signs on the back of my front seats and I've averaged over ratings over 4.9 the past 3 weeks. Again it can be different for other areas but I thought I'd share what helped me out. Thanks again for your vids man!

some people are just hard to please last week I only did 8 rides I got 7 5 stars and 1 below 5 I remember each ride because it was so little they all went smooth but off course I got that one ass hole

Me too. Once in a while, people get out of my car without saying thank you or bye. Just straight up get out like im not even there haha. I give them bad ratings

I always 5 to my riders. Screw them if they think u change lanes or don't rush . half of the riders are spiteful and entitled.
The other half are great. So, UBER ZSTOO harassing ur drivers or u will,fail. Ur business model sucks empowering the riders and harassing us. We will just quit.
And ur stuck with a lower quality driving pool and ur awful riders.

I think it is very important that Uber passengers understand how driver ratings work. Most passengers think it is like school:
5=A
4=B
3=C
2=D
But it doesn’t work that way. It works this way:
5 PASS, Everything was just OK or better than that. He got you from A to B safely and in a reasonable amount of time. The car was clean and didn’t smell.
The rest of the ratings work like this:
4 F, Uber should fire this driver.
3 F, Uber should fire this driver.
2 F, Uber should fire this driver soon if he doesn’t improve. He’s dangerous. Drives recklessly. Almost in an accident. Tried to flirt with me. Made inappropriate sexual comments.
1 F, Uber should fire this driver immediately. He was drunk and shooting heroin in the car. He was showing me his gun. He got in a fist fight with another driver.
FACT: Any driver who gets nothing but 4 stars on every ride will be fired.

If they have their headphones on or are on their phones (60% of my passengers) I just let them do their thing and get them to Point B. I'm currently at 4.94 on Lyft and 4.73 on Uber. Water and starlight mints do wonders for tips and ratings where I drive though.

great tips! I supplied my passengers with water, mints, tissues etc.....it made NO difference. I made a few wrong turns here and there and my ratings went down (I had an old 4S which was not helping) so I upgraded to a 7 plus major improvement no mistakes and I could see my ratings go up so its navigation mistakes that will hurt you.
Absolutely! The only two things that will lower your rating is being rude and navigational mistakes.

I dont u understand how Uber has rental cars to provide for their drivers who don’t have their own vehicle. However, they want the payment upfront I wish Uber had a way where there was a way for me at least that I could rent a car and I wouldn’t have to pay for it until the end of the week. I’m in a bad spot right now. I was using my ex-husband‘s truck because he claimed it would be better for me. And it would be cheaper than renting a car he saw I was making so much money and he started getting jealous and making all kinds of excuses as to why he couldn’t let me use his car anymore so I unfortunately have not been able to work and make money. I also can’t pay for my own rental car. What do you suppose I do do you have any suggestions? I know this is unrelated to your video but I figured I’d take a chance and see if maybe you had any feedback. Thanks for the video. It was very interesting.

Every driver is different, I agree. Not everyone has the gift to read there passengers. I am totally just like you see on me videos. I do not ask for 5 stars and really not concerned about it. I chose to give the gift cards because it is fun to see the reactions as well. I did not start filming until about my 700th pax. Just be yourself. If you a re 5 star person, you will receive 5 stars. The passengers for the most part know what is going on. Cheers and Happy New Year!!

Try snacks or water for the customers or ask them if they want to listen to music! Or if they can feel the air conditioning or heater
I think it's messed up how we don't get tips from most people. That never happened in the taxi business. I got a one star rating and have no idea why. My friend suggested me to wear a Burger King Crown to make people laugh.
Does any one know about Uber changing the rating of the drivers even though riders are giving you good ratings.

"Maybe they`re having a bad day, and don`t wanna talk"..."I never have snacks"..."Don`t kiss ass"...My thoughts are, Maybe if I talk to them correctly, I can make their day better...I have snacks and bottled water at all times...And being friendly or nice isn`t kissing ass, it`s being a decent human being. One last thought...this guy is dying to cause an accident by pulling out in front of people. What if he had a rider in the car...would he still get 5 stars???
If you don't want to have your rating dropped, try your best to stay away from low rating customers. 4.8 could be dangerous. Some really do give yoy bad rating for no good reason. Which is very disgusting.
