Thank you. Mine is 7 years old and I just had it serviced. I thought it seemed to sound rough but it sounds like yours. I think I use the brake too much! I need it on hills. I will try to use your suggestions tomorrow when I take it out again. I’m a senior lady and trying my best to do the lawn maintenance. The shop I bought it from recommended I use premium gas which I have always done. What is your opinion?
I used to think the same things about using premium gas but have changed my thoughts after doing research on it. Regular is fine but I do recommend using a fuel stabilizer like "StaBil marine" when you are storing your machine for more than a few months.
Great video. Mine did not come with a manual. One thing I did not see on your mower. That is on mine is a red slider that is on the deck height selector. I have never been certain what that is for.
Great piece of machine. Very fun to drive. It spits grass in the chute so aggressively and i have to rake when finish. Is a mulching kit a good idea to reduce the extra work of raking up grass flying all around my yard?
Sounds like you may be cutting to much at once? Or to low? Try to cut more often and maybe raise the mower deck height and see if it helps. A mulching system will work but you have to cut more often and you cannot let the grass get too high or it will not work well. Also do not cut wet grass.
i have the YTA 17542, after 2 yrs the exhaust valve broke inside the crankcase. had to replace thankfully was under warrenty but heard this is a big issue on the intek motor. anyway .. my question is. what is the difference between the YTA 18542 and the YTA 18542?
I'm pretty sure this is most of the Husqvarna Line Up. YT = Yard Tractor with either manual or hydrostatic transaxle. Depends on model. YTA = Yard Tractor with General (Cheaper Quality) Transmissions RS800 series transaxle. GT = Garden Tractor with heavy duty hydrostatic transaxle. LTA = Lawn Tractor with General (Cheaper Quality) Transmissions RS series transaxle YTH = Yard Tractor with heavy duty hydrostatic transaxle. LGTH = Lawn and Garden Tractor with heavy duty hydrostatic transaxle.
If you are asking about the transmission? and moving the machine forward and reverse? Start watching the video at the 8:20 mark. You may have the rod in the out position, not allowing the tractor to move. Push the rod in and make sure the emergency brake is off. Then give it a try. If it still does not move you have more issues, like your transmission drive belt is off.
I wish my John Deer D130 had the reverse cut option. Pressing the provided reverse lock out button is a pain in the but and for the life of me I don't understand why it's there!
The reverse safety button is there because one of the large manufacturers was sued many years ago. Some one backed over some one and the person was severely injured.
@@JohnsonsSmallEngines The real question is how many users look behind them when they're backing up only a few feet? I understand though, probably the same guy behind all the gas can safety mandates!
@@SimpleLife1971 flip open your hood and unplug your rio button. Make you a jumper wire about 5" long with blade connectors on both ends. Plug it into the connector and zip tie it out of your way. Now you can mow in reverse.
I goofed on the intro " I was born with only one hand" not "only hand"
“And your gonna need it.”
George Castansa from Sinfeld!
“ I had Hand “
😂

Question is the YTH 18542 a garden tractor or a lawn tractor? I'm new to this😊
My opinion, this is a lawn tractor just made to cut grass.
Thank you for this video.
Glad it was helpful!
Can you adjust the mowing deck while cutting
If your talking about the deck height, sure but if you drop the deck your going to scalp the lawn.
Dude, thanks!
I’m glad it was helpful! Thank you for the kind comment.
Thanks for the information bud cheers

My mower dies when I release the brake pedal?
Can you make a video on how to operate a YTH2246
I did. ua-cam.com/video/2g_e8syF-Oc/v-deo.html
After using this machine , all of a sudden the mower deck won’t engage. The lever moves up but nothing happens. Has a belt slipped off ?
Gow can i put it into drive

@@SimpleLife1971 If you're like me you can repurpose the rio button. You can wire in a small car horn and beep beep at the neighbors and passers bye.
Thank you
