Good Morning🌄! Ah Ha moment. Turn, no chain one. It's small corrections and techniques to make new habits. Thank you for your help! Have a fabulous today, Steph
Oh my goodness I've almost finished a baby blanket. This would have been priceless to have known when started. Thank you so much! Ill use this going forward!
Good Morning 🤗 what an ingenious way to make straight edges. Can’t wait to try it!! Finland is a such beautiful place. Thank you for all your helpful tips 🥰
What a great tip! I have forever made a chain one and turn method. Then all kinds of first double crochet method. I am going to try this one on my net project!
Thank you! I was struggling on a shawl I’m working on. Pattern said to chain 2 and turn and I didn’t like the way it looked when I added a DC into the same stitch. This is the perfect fix!
Thank you for the lovely scenery, where I live is not so pretty, ok but not as beautiful. Your crochet tips are always welcome, and they always work !!! Thank you from London
Well...that is something! I have 3 WIPs (who doesn't ?? lol) which are too far along to frog, but, I am trying this on my next new project. Thanks for another great stitch idea.
Tuula, I always enjoy and put into practice, all of the tips you share! They are ever so helpful and Very Much Appreciated! The Village is stunningly Beautiful 😍 Thank you for sharing! Love & Blessings from Florida🩷
You are a life saver! I’ve never been happy with how the double crochet edges looked and the holes always bothered me I wish I learnt this a lot sooner! I’ll be using this for all my future projects!
Hello Tuula! Thank you for the video. I’ve been using the stacked single crochet for a little over a year and really like the way it looks. Like you, I like the ease of crocheting into it as opposed to a chain. Your tip on matching to a half double row is new to me and I’ll be using that the next time I am using half doubles in a project. It never fails that you have a tip I can use!
I always enjoy your tutorials, Tuula, and again you fail to disappoint! While I've done the stacked SC for a chain sub for DC and TC I've never done the HDC this way and I surely will now. Thank you for this!
Wow, this looks so easy! I think I might also prefer your linked method, but this seems so simple. And thank you for sharing the scenery. One of my favorite outdoor places is a wooded path by a lake, the gentle sound of water and leaves. ❤
Very nice. I still don't understand why anyone would chain 3. I am making a blanket right now, all double crochet. I only chain one, then double into the very first stitch. I am 20 rows in and so far, have the same number of stitches I started with and everything looks pretty fairly straight however it could be better. I'm going to try this.
This is kind of how I've been doing it on my V stitch poncho. But I found that two SC stacked got a little too low and fat, but like you I thought that three SC got too tall. So what I've been doing is to SC in the V, then chain one, and _then_ SC in the side of the first SC! This makes it only a little taller, and it also makes it easier for me to find the correct spot to slip stitch into when I come back in the round :)
Tula i have been crocheting for many years always learning new stitches, but what size is the yarn you r using in these demonstration videos,it looks smaller in size than mine and what size hook do i use . i look forward to your info thanks for you great videos please bring many more!!!! Fri .May 31 24
This way works in any yarn, from fingering to bulky, just need to check that your hook goes with the yarn you have. The yarn I'm using for the demonstration is worsted weight wool hook is 4 mm.
Beautiful scenery and beautiful dogs Thank you ❤
Glad you liked them!

Lovely, I'm sure it will work well for you!
I really like this method instead of a chain 2 or 3. Thank you, Tuula! And the scenery was a bonus!
Great! Many people mention the scenery, I really should add a bit at the end of all videos!
Thank you! I was struggling on a shawl I’m working on. Pattern said to chain 2 and turn and I didn’t like the way it looked when I added a DC into the same stitch. This is the perfect fix!
Great, yes, this should make it look neater!

In my last project, which was in mesh, I actually did this at the beginning of the rows AND did the other method at the end
That sounds like a good idea, I'll try it!

❤❤❤
Thank you very much for the tips, cannot wait to try them out. Btw that tiny "stretch the yarn/ stitch" is genius! It's so helpful.
Thank you! There are so many little tricks in crochet that are never written in patterns because they would get too long to explain! 😀
Much neater edge thankyou enjoy your day today x
Thank you, you too!
This is very easy to remember, so another great tool for the crochet toolkit. Thank you!
That's great - there are so many tips and tricks we can keep adding!
What a great tip! I always figured I was doing something wrong when I got big gaps. I'm going to save this for later. Thank you so much, Tuula! ❤️
And beautiful village!
So glad it was helpful! 💗

And thank you for sharing the scenery. One of my favorite outdoor places is a wooded path by a lake, the gentle sound of water and leaves. ❤
Thank you! I really love that walk the clips were from, there are rarely other people there at the same time and the nature is so peaceful!
