Dude I never comment on videos, but the effort you're putting into these builds in a very difficult to understand niche of this hobby is really cool. A lot of this stuff has to be figured out through trial and error, so getting to see someone really put it all together thoughtfully is huge. I hope the view count accurately reflects that over time for you. You deserve it.
Thank you for commenting! Helps me to keep making videos with the builds I do. Over the years I have learned a lot through trial and error so my hopes is I can share the success I've had so otheres font have to repeat the same mistakes. Once again thanx for the comment and build on!
I keep returning to this video for inspiration and guidance on my paludarium using the same enclosure, IMO your build videos are the most comprehensive guides on youtube. Is the ventilation more for the plants or the critters/both? Would a case fan on the lid suffice? I don't currently have any plans for amphibians and have zero experience doing so, but would like to have that option available in the future.
Thank you for watching the video. Glad it is giving you some inspiration. I'm sure a case fan would do fine if it had a speed adjuster so it wouldn't create to much air flow. I like to used them inside the enclosures to I don't introduce a lot of outside air. I foundnit best to use the fans inside so I can circulate the air from inside the environment. I donuse the fans for both plants and animals. They are set on timers and don't run constantly Not sirenif you saw this video that is a more detailed step by step of the same build ua-cam.com/video/-6B4wvRxdqA/v-deo.html
This is an awesome build! Seeing as it's been almost a year since this build, I wanted to ask how the corrugated plastic in the water portion was holding up. I've built sumps and some other builds with acrylic on glass but found that it starts to bow and the silicone bond weakened after a year. Have you found any bowing or problems with the corrugated plastic?
It is holding up the same as day 1. The sprayfoam and drylok have the added strength on the front end and the substrate on the back end, sandwiching the corrugated plastic into place. But in time if it does start to leak for one reason or another I will add a new material I have been working with called polygem zoopoxy. I have the full step by step video posted just before this one too. It explains and shows the whole buikd. Thanx for watching! 🤘💯🦎🐸🐍🐢🌱
I love this build gonna do anything similar.. I wanted to use it for dart frogs, but was warned about dart frogs with a water feature. How has it worked out?
Thank you and my experience has been good. I'm not sure if you have owned darts in the past or not. But I would learn their behaviors before adding a water feature. When designing, make a large enough footprint of land and surface area so the water portion doesn't have a huge impact on the terrestrial footprint. Darts are not good swimmers, but know how to get out when provided an exit. I have never seen them just into the water intentionally. But they will intentionally sit in the "waterfall part" from time to time. Thank you for watching 🤘💯🐸🦎🐍🐢
this waterfall build brings me on a good idea how to make mine you only used drylock? no grout? drylock we don't have in Netherlands you know anything like it that can also be used as drylock?
I'm not sure what substitutes they have for drylok where you are. It's a masonry sealer that they also use in ponds. I'll try to see if I can find anything. If interested tk don't again inwoukd probably use Zoopoxy (I know you're trying to work with them to get it) the drylok in this build has held fine but I also over built it. If I didn't, it would have failed. 1 pin hole, and it would leak. Check out the full diybonbthis build wherebit goes overnjt in details. Hope this helps. 🤘💯🦎🐸🐍🐢🌱
Great question, yes it will, but I do like having media to have a place for more beneficial bacteria to grow. Plus is allowed me to add an external heater and top to my leftside waterfall. The plants definitely do a good job but the exterior canister filter serves a few different purposes. Hope this helped 🤘💯🤘
hei congratulations bro you did a great work!!! do you think it might be possible to do it the low tech low income route with the misting and lighting??

@@bradsbioactivebuilds thnx a lot!! Hoping you post soon another build! ^^ The plants are pretty standard, im just hoping to see a low cost option for lighting cause the lighting u have in this build is waaay to expensive and was hoping about a cheaper alternative like a RGB LED strip or smth like that...
How are the temperatures in the set up? does the warm water help with the temps? Im just curious as i want to use some of your technics but i gotta have these whites tree frogs in the 80s during the day. If you know of a better heat source please fill free to recommend.
@chubbybear12 I just added 2 of the aquasky for the better lightning effects. I have since removed them both and added them to other enclosures and I use the fluval plant light on this build
Beautiful setup even if you made a big mistake in the aquatic area, in particular in the choice of these species of fish as tank mates, in fact guppyes have very different water values compared to tetras, this means that by maintaining this coexistence at least one of the two species will suffer from not having water values suited to its needs. To avoid other similar errors in the future, I suggest you go and find out more about the water values and the needs of the various species. Unfortunately, being also a aquarium person, it is quite sad to see terrariophiles making beautiful marshes and then inserting incompatible fish species that will be subjected to unconscious abuse by people who are not informed enough. I hope this little criticism can help you not only in solving your mistakes but also in spreading awareness of these problems also in the reptiles community in order to fight the ignorance and abuse of these beautiful animals. some small tips: on the bottom of the tank insert some boiled leaves (such as magnolia or oak) as well as acting as a shelter for the fish they will give a nice amber color to the water (typical of many Amazonian watercourses) this will be given by the tannins present in the leaves and will improve the quality of the water for the fish, another advice would be to insert other aquatic plants. An excellent choice would be the Pistia Stratiotes native to South America, it requires a very simple cure (it is even invasive in many places) it with its long roots will absorb many pollutants in the water and will provide shelter for the fry (and since you have guppies in the tank they will probably have already started eating their own offspring), and for that corydoras you must know that they are extremely social animals and would need of a school of at least a dozen specimens, plus the need for an area with extra fine sand (even better if the entire bottom) as in nature the cory forage the bottom in large schools in search of food and then expel the sand from the gills, depriving them of being able to do this behavior is cruel enough.

I commented on another post of yours, but I'm addition to that you could always get a small 25w CHE nanao heater to help
Why 2 lights? Will the aquasky be enough, or do I need both to grow plants?
@chubbybear12 I just added 2 of the aquasky for the better lightning effects. I have since removed them both and added them to other enclosures and I use the fluval plant light on this build
@bradsbioactivebuilds I have the aquasky. Will that be ok to grow plants inside an enclosure?
@chubbybear12 yes, thay sould be sufficient 🤘💯🤘
Are those materials health proof for the frogs/lizards skin ?
Of course. All animal safe
